First off, I'm pretty much a novice at detailing with a polisher. My previous experience is with a $29 Ryobi vibration machine. Man, this is a step to the moon compared to the Ryobi. I used Wolfgang products on a black 2011 BMW and the paint came out beautiful. I'm still learning the techniques by the pros but I was really amazed at what was accomplished by this polisher especially at my skill level. It's enjoyable to own a quality product no matter what it is and this exceeded my expectations. For me, it is a good investment that will last a lifetime.

I was considering upgrading to a Flex and read the reviews/comparisons of the Rupes on the forum and chose the Rupes with 5" backing plate.Whoa nellie! Amazing difference. The Rupes is so smooth and effortless it makes it almost effortless to apply compounds, sealants, etc.Fantastic product and I can't recommend it highly enough.

My first DA polisher was a Griot's Garage 6 inch DA polisher, which I still think is an excellent product. I did my first few corrections with the GG, and what I didn't like about it was the noise and the vibration. I purchased the 15ES mostly as a luxury item, and I chose the 15ES over the 21 because I really didn't have to worry about the constancy of turning over vehicles in a timely manner because I'm not a professional detailer. The Rupes 15ES is beautifully crafted. It is solid but relatively light weight. It is well-balanced when being held. This allows you to cover more ground when doing your section passes.The available pads that are available to the Rupes 15ES are top notch, and the blue and green ones have great cutting capabilities. I have also used the 15ES with LC CCS pads and the LC hybrid wool pads. They all work very nicely with the 15ES.I've been very happy with my purchase of this tool, and I intend to use it as my primary DA polisher. I have since converted my GG 6 inch to one with a 3.5 inch backing plate for use in areas that require less throw and smaller pads. I think a GG 6 inch converted to a 3 or 3.5 inch is more powerful than the often maligned stock GG 3 inch DA polisher.
I captain a private yacht in the Miami area, we tried all type and kinds of polishes and polisher. The Rupes is the go to polisher for me. When using my favorite product I get outstanding results with considerably less time needed to do so. Using the Rupes 21 allows me to cover more area in a shorter am out of time, with a big saving in money/labor.You want your work to look like or better than the pro's, buy this polisher, you will not be disappointed.
I won't mention any names, but this polisher is SO MUCH better than another cheaper, popular choice. There is very little vibration and noise, and the results are great. Wish I had bought it sooner!
I tested the polisher on an older car which had been sitting in the street for 10 plus years and brought it back to a very decent shine with the Rupes polisher and a few hours work. great tool.
Rupes used to be the number one robust industry leader in well designed efficient contractor grade power tools. We only get a smattering of their inventory in the US. This one works quite well but it noisy, and sounds like a cheap machine. Time will tell whether it will go the distance. Would I recommend it? Undecided - the jurys out.
Im a bit-speed wheel guy traditionally. Our exclusive shop has been producing show winning finishes for years primarily with the wheel. I recently decided to give a friends rupes a try in his shop and was blown away with the results doing just a one-step usin the DA course pad with fine cut. Not a swirl or spider web anywhere on a black finish. It takes getting used to but once you get a feel for how it works, playing with different pad and material combinations, the end results are superior in just a fraction of the time to make 3-4 passes with cuts & polishes using the hi-speed technique.
I already had the Rupes 15mm, Porter Cable, Flex polishers and not to mention Makita and DeWalt buffers.....I felt that my arsenal wasn't complete without the 21mm. I was right! If you are serious about paint correction, spend the money on this product. There are knock off polishers that claim to be on the Rupes level. For me, there are none better at doing what they are supposed to!
