Beautiful design.

I love the design on this kettle, its so sleek and elegenat! The black makes it pefect for every kitchen whilst the silver touches add a little sparkle. My favourtie thing about this kettle is the fact it has 2 fill windows one on each side of the kettle, which being left handed with a right handed partner is amazing for me and its the first time i've personally seen this feature on a kettle. The quite boil really is what you expect. Its not silent but a lot quiter than most standard kettles. I love the cup depths inside the kettle letting you know where to fill for a few cups of tea without having to look at the side. Its a really lovely kettle!

Good kettle but wobbly on base

Over many years I've had 3 of this model and have been very pleased with them, but gave the last one to a relative. The new model looks exactly the same as previous ones, but is wobbly on its base so didn't seem secure. When I contacted R-H they were very helpful and after a bit of to-and-fro sent me a replacement. The new one is exactly the same, and it's clear the base itself has changed, because the new kettle sat solidly on a different base. It's still an excellent kettle, but not as stable as the former ones.

Great company and great product.

I had a quick boil Tefal that needed replacing and I wanted the same quick boil technology and stainless steel finish. This Russell Hobbs model appealed to me for it's appearance and functionality, an added bonus is it boils in near silence. Russell Hobbs is a good British company too and it was important to me where possible to support British companies rather than others. Overall I am very pleased with the product - it does just what it says on the advert. The website for purchase was slick in operation and clear and easy. The free delivery was rapid and above expectations. I have no qualms whatsoever in recommending this product or indeed Russell Hobbs.

Limescale Overload

I bought this kettle just over a year ago. It looks great and boils well and I don't get the strange taste that others have commented on. But it is particularly bad for limescale build-up, even in a soft water area, and my husband is fed up with pieces of limescale in his tea! The quiet-boil base-plate seems to trap limescale and it is very difficult to get it out. I have cleaned the kettle multiple times but the limescale is soon back. I am considering replacing the kettle with a more regular style.

Not a good buy

We have had this kettle for 2 yrs, the lid opening mechanism broke after a year, then a few months later the "on" knob broke off. But it was still working, now after 2 years the kettle has stopped working. I have always had russell hobb kettles but this one is a dud. I accept there will be a percentage with manufacturing faults. But this is too many. And it is incredibly noisy. When it was working it did it's job of boiling water.

Quick and efficient

The kettle is a medium size able to heat the water for 6 medium size cups. The heating process is a bit lauder than normal due to the metal parts but the water heating process is very quick. The lid on my kettle is a bit loose and does not close well so this may be a part in the lauder noise produced while heating the water. It has a comfortable grip handle that makes handling the kettle easy and pleasant. On the side of the kettle the marks provided are verh useful and benefits from not boiling to much water , but enough for what is needed. I want to add that because the exterior walls are metal the water is getting colder fast so if need to be reused in 15 min you have to repeat the boiling process. Overall a good kettle for a household with 4 members.

Stylish and quiet kettle

Getting up early on a morning and making a brew, but not wanting to disturb the rest of the house, this kettle seemed like it would fit the bill, and it certainly achieves that. It's a very stylish looking kettle, and looks right at home in our kitchen. The neon blue light when the kettle is boiling that lights up, is a very nice touch as you can instantly see if it is active or not.Now me being the geek I am, I actually used a noise meter app on my phone to try to measure the difference in ambient noise when using the old and new kettle, and there was a definite difference. Although not huge in terms of numbers, the discernable difference in the real world is very noticeable and is really understated. The only downside I would say is the total amount of water that it can boil as it isn't quite the same volume as I had previously but not a major concern.Overall, a kettle well worth having!

Waste of Money as it is badly manufactured.

NOT EVEN WORTH ONE STAR RATING!! Bought this quite expensive kettle less than 2 years ago because it was quiet boil and yes it was. Also we trusted the Russell Hobbs brand name. Sadly in our experience we found this kettle to be a complete WASTE OF OUR MONEY and we are disappointed with the VERY POOR QUALITY of the kettle. 1: The black plastic 'ON SWITCH' BROKE OFF so the kettle is useless. 2: The clear plastic 'water-fill indicator window' LEAKED when filled past 2 cups of water. We wonder if this was this Built-In Obsolescence so we are forced to buy another kettle??? A big fail because we will never buy any Russell Hobbs product again. Maybe you should consider bringing your product manufacturing back to the U.K. so you can ensure the quality of your kettles.
