Russell Hobbs Black Deep Fryer Maxi UK Plug

This takes a while to heat up, but I am impatient with cooking times so this might be affecting my judgement. It’s only for small batches of food, but cooking times are very quick. I love the safety features where the handle goes down when cooking so there can be no accidental cooking, and the cool wall surface preventing touch burns. This is a great item for students.

Beautiful Black!!!

Beautifully black! So far so good it's been great.. it started with odour of a new electrical then fades away after the second use. The size is good for small, medium and even large families (just need to fry more portions). I love the fact you can see through the hobbs window, & you can lift the frying basket up while the deep fryer is shut so the excess oil drips off after frying for a while. It's shows green when its ready. I clean every possible part after every use. Its beautiful!!!

Christmas miracle because of a Adsa advert

You guys have saved the day, my brother wanted a air fryer for Christmas And I was thinking really hard where to find one.Until one day I was working and I heard the radio and I heard your Asda advert that you guys have a Russell Hobbs air fryer and it was a Christmas miracle. It was packages so good that no one was gonna open it. Thank you Adsa !

Does what it says on the box so far.

Needed a replacement fryer and this does the job without being over expensive. It's small and compact and just takes 2.5 litres of oil to fill, but the basket makes up to a kilo of chips unlike other brands of the same external dimensions which only cook one portion of chips. When I read other comments about the basket breaking, I was hessitant to order. I have found no problem with the basket at all and in fact the build level is very good. The dial on the fron it very postive with a reassring clicking when turned. No idea how easy it is to clean as haven't cleaned it yet. We just close the lid and keep the oil in for a week or two. I would imagine it is easy to keep clean as the outside is shiney plastic and wipe clean while the inside is none stick. The bowl doesn't detach from inside, so can't put it in the dishwasher, not that the dishwasher ever really cleans chip pans. Chips are very good - instructions say to fry at 170 until golden brown, lift out of oil then finish off at 190 for two minutes. It sounds a small faff, but depends on how you like your chips. Our fryer was supplied via AO and they were brilliant as usual.

Good fryer

This is super! I originally wanted the asda own brand one but they had sold out and this was marked down so a good price too. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Makes chips yummy too! Definitely recommend.

Good looking,quick fryer

Looks good, heats up quickly, plenty big enough for 2 people, easy to clean, only down side is it's a little expensive, George has, basically the same one for £10 cheaper, which i found out the day i bought this one. But never the less, still happy with my purchase.

Great fryer for a couple or small family

Excellent, cheap and cheery deep fat fryer.The basket is just about big enough for 3....if your family is bigger you may struggle.... Unless little kids and smaller appetites etcWe bought 2!! One has beef dripping on for 'proper' chips, the other has vegetable oil in for everything else!!

Ok for second choice

Bought it to replace old Asda fryer. The basket is a bit flimsy and doesn’t sit very deep in the fryer. Seems to have a big gap between basket and bottom of fryer so oil doesn’t cover as much as expected. It’s ok and does the job but the Asda one was better but couldn’t get that one again.

Pleased with purchase

Compact and smart. I really like press button control for lid and, especially, the tidy storage handle. Heated up quickly. Not sure how easy it will be to clean interior as I cannot remove bowl (though lid detaches easily) and wide but shallow bowl meant I had to turn food over even though fryer was filled with oil to max.

Poor substitution.

I ordered a Russell Hobbs deep fat fryer as a gift for my dad. On the morning of collection I was notified that it would be substituted for Asda’s Home Essentials fryer instead. Surely logistically it is known before the morning of collection that the product I ordered would not be available. I understand that with some grocery items substitutions can be made, however with an electrical item that was chosen specifically is unacceptable and inconvenient. I had to last minute source another fryer from a different supplier for the gift. I will never use this way of ordering from Asda again. It’s too much hassle.
