Russell Hobbs RHFP5BLK Desire Food Processor Matte Black

I am disappointed with this product. When using the slicing or shredding blade there aways seems to be a large piece of the vegetable that doesn't get sliced due to the gap between the blade and the lid. The chute through which the vegetables are to be fed is small which requires the vegetables to be cut up to small wedges before processing [eg potatoes, cabbage for cole slaw]. In many cases it is easier to use a mandolin which accepts larger pieces requires less cleaning up. Using the processor for mixing dressing for cole slaw is unnecessarily complicated as the three ingredients can be far more easily mixed by had with a whisk or spoon and again results in far less cleaning.

A Basic - Easy to Use Food Processor

This Russell Hobbs food processor is a basic and easy to use machine, when compared to the other machines I have used earlier where there are a lot more functionalities and it is too complicated. First the product looks and feels great however I felt the product was not sturdy enough may be because it is light weight compared to the one's I have used before. I love the sticky feet (Suction Stickers) at the base which makes the unit remain in place while in function. The unit comes neatly packed with a fantastic instruction manual which also has a menu guide on one side. It also comes with a creamer attachment. The only thing I felt missing to this unit was a kneading hook or Dough hook which was available in a machine I use to have earlier, this saves trouble from buying the kitchen machine. The blender after using, I realised the blade is not strong to crush solid ice and works only with crushed ice which was again a user error since it was clearly mentioned in the user manual. Overall, I am happy with the product as it fulfils the basic necessity and saves time. Also the machine does not occupy too much space and can sit well on top of the kitchen bench. There is child lock feature which is a good safety feature and the machine only works if the jug or blender is locked into the machine. The cord for the unit is basic and not too long like some other brands that causes entanglement. Overall on a rating of 5, I give 4 on 5 for this product for its ease of use and storage space.

Disappointed

This is the second Russel Hobbs appliance that I have purchased and it will certainly be my last. The first appliance, a kettle purchased from Harvey Norman tripped the circuit breakers the first time it was plugged in. This continued when tried in different power points throughout the house. I didn't take it back, we live in a rural location so it was cheaper just to purchase another brand. This item purchased from Big W Murray Bridge, the processor works very well, however I have used the blender and now it is locked on to the motor and cannot be moved............I am absolutely disgusted with the Russell Hobbs products! Disappointed

I bought this a couple months ago to help blend up my toddler's food. The food processor works great (even if it designed poorly) but the blender was the disappointing part here. I never noticed until today when I went to use it, that there is a massive crack in the bottom! I hope that's covered under the 2 year warranty, because I do enjoy this product, and I really need that blender. I'm just very unimpressed with the blender being brand new, yet broken, and disappointed in myself for not even noticing until today.

Dissatisfied & not recomend

Yesterday I bought Russell Hobbs Desire Matte Black food processor. Today I tried to slice some carrots. Even I assembled everything correctly ,food processor is not working. Really Dissapointed & going to return it. Not recomend this product to any one.

Easy to use, impressive results

I am very impressed my new food processor. It has a very simple operation - I was even able to use it without reading the manual! It chopped the vegetables to a very fine texture which worked really well in cooking pasta sauces and veg frittatas. It also had a handy flip of the blade to give me the slicing side which was convenient (one less blade to worry about)! I used the blender to make some blended juice which worked well. I was indeed impressed with the appliance and I have it all plugged and ready on my kitchen bench to use almost every day (so glad it gives me a break from the knife and board). I think it is definitely a great value for money, I highly recommend this product!!

Great Blender, do we have grinder jar as spare

Hey all, I purchased this model after using Swinger full food processor for sometime in India. This has been working great so far. Does blending well. Just one question to customer support team if we have grinder option to add to this product. I want to buy but not sure if Russell hobs have spares or I can buy some third party jar which fit to it. Ta

Great Results!

The Food Processor / Blender is very easy to use and the results speak for themselves. I'm a smoothie tragic, and have been using the Russell Hobbs blender almost daily for smoothies.Such delicious results with it. It's got an impressive motor , and I like the functions such as safety lock and the non-slip suction cups on the base to hold it really stable. Looking forward to making great smoothies with it for a long time to come!

Great all rounder

Great all rounder product to do all my chopping, slicing, grating etc. I used to do it all by hand but with arthritic hands and shoulder surgery coming up I needed help. This product was well priced and does it all including blending. Very happy with my purchase.

Russell Hobbs Food Processor

I am a Russell Hobbs fan . I have been buying the kettles since they first brought them to NZ. Recently my Fabulous Kenwood Food Processor started to misbehave after years of great service, so I decided to replace it. When I saw the Russell Hobbs it was a no brainer. BIG MISTAKE it is NOT fit for purpose. It wouldn't even chop up pieces of a banana in a milkshake, let alone blend butter and flour (in fact, it threw the flour everywhere), or chop citrus fruit for marmalade. VERY disappointed. Its far too light, so it jiggles around the bench unless it is firmly held, and there are too many bits to put together. NOT AT ALL HAPPY, will re think R.H. in future, sadly.
