Bought this kettle 18 months ago and it hasn't missed a beat. Lightweight to pick up, yet sturdy. I cleaned with commercial descaler as recommended in the manual at the one year mark and this restored it to shiny as-new condition.

Received one of these as a gift. The inside rim of the lid collects steam, so if you open the lid soon after a boil the steam trickles down over the handle and burns your hand. I've never had this happen with a kettle before. I'm surprised others aren't complaining about the same thing, maybe mine is faulty. It was a gift so I have no way of rexchanging it without complaining to the person who bought it for me but I wanted to make other people aware of this issue. Looking at the kettle, it seems like a design flaw.

I bought this jug about 2 months ago and am very impressed with how quiet it actually is compared to our old (2 year old) jug. Living in a small apartment we could hear the old one in the bedroom with another room in between. This one there is no noise so can now have a cuppa at 3am and don't wake the other half.
We are really pleased with this jug. Really quiet. Our last jug was a Russell Hobbs and it lasted about 10 years so went with similar jug. Real easy to operate. We were super happy with delivery time. Arrived within 24 hours from time of order to our rural delivery address. Thanks.
I have just bought this to replace another brand - broken lid and always very noisy, This really is whisper quiet, and has a much superior lid mechanism. HOWEVER, on opening the box, the whole filter assembly was rattling around inside the kettle. It took a while to work out how it should have been, and even longer to actually re-assemble it because the opening is very small for a large male hand and the edge return is rather sharp. The filter holder could have been better designed, more robust and a permanent, non-detachable fitting. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars at least.
Kettle seemed good but after a couple of uses it developed a horrible smell and taste, which tainted cups of tea. Unusable. Online sesrch revealed this has been a prpblem before with this brand (although not this model). HS are happy for it to be returned.
I recently purchased this jug. It is far superior to our old jug that was a different brand. We had to turn the sound up on the tv when that was working. This one is so much quieter plus it doesn’t reach boiling point and continue to boil like the previous one. Definitely a positive change.
Bought this for its quiet boil and within a month it was noisier than my previous kettle. Got a free replacement and the same thing happened, then a couple of months later it also started leaking massively from the water level window. Just off out today to buy ^another* kettle, and it definitely won’t be one of these!AVOID
it's really quiet, which is the main reason we picked this kettle. It does a weird thing where water splashes out through the lid when it is opened. I think this is condensation from a previous, very full boiling episode. So far no scalding, but I wonder ...
