I've never had this happen with a kettle before. I'm surprised others aren't complaining about the same thing, maybe mine is faulty. It was a gift so I have no way of
rexchanging it without complaining to the person who bought it for me but I wanted to make other people aware of this issue. Looking at the kettle, it seems like a design flaw.
