I love the Ryobi one+ system and that the battery is compatible with so much. The brad nailer was my first product when I had more time for wood working stuff. It has come in handy so many times. The first one did have an issue and it was around COVID times so instead of sending off for repairs, the replaced it. We still use it frequently. Especially as a temporary tacking when screwing stuff in while working by myself. Made putting up trim a breeze

Bought this to replace a pneumatic setup after both my (cheap) compressor and (even cheaper) pneumatic gun crapped out at the start of a moulding job. Since I was already in the Ryobi ecosystem and had the batteries, at $99 this gun was cheaper than buying another cheap compressor and pneumatic nailer.As it turns out, this gun runs circles around any pneumatic brad nailer I've ever used. Using 2" brads, I was able to solidly affix wooden baseboard moulding all around the house. Through the sheetrock and into the studs. While the love is well-deserved, it's not without its faults. It's safety mechanism is a touch over-protective. If you are reaching at an angle you may have to reset your position times to get it to actually fire. It's also slightly bulkier than most pneumatic brad nailers, which means tight corners require a little more planning.

Expensive toy not made to last

Bought this for a project, used a couple of times and it was fine. Didn't have anymore projects so it was stored. 2 yrs later I had a project brought it out to use, it nailed once and quit working. Called Ryobi and the nearest service center is 3hrs away and you have to pay shipping yourself to the service center. I guess Ryobi is not made to last and must buy a new one every couple years.

I don't often review products, but I have to say I am disappointed with my new Ryobi 18-Gauge Brad Nailer. I recently purchased this tool after lending my first Ryobi 18-Gauge Airstrike to a friend. He loved it so much, that I decided to let him keep it. The Airstrike I gave to my friend was "amazing". It hardly ever misfired and never had nails get lodged in the top. This was the reason I purchased another airstrike. My new unit misfired 7 out of 28 shots. I was attempting to put 2" nails through 3/4" plywood and whitewood 2 x 4's. The unit makes a sound similar to a balloon deflating when it misfires and leaves the nails almost an inch out of the material. I am very familiar with the Airstrike system and properly adjusted both air pressure and the depth-drive wheel on the side of the unit. Holding those two variables constant after setting one nail perfectly, the unit "over-drove" the next 2 nails, misfired once and then "under-drove" the next 2 nails. It was a good thing I was testing this on scrap material before attempting it on my finished product. I was considering buying this tool for my father-in-law to help him with trim work on his house. After my recent experience, I don't think I will be purchasing this unit for him, as I cannot guarantee the results of the product. I am a big Ryobi fan and have many tools from this company. However, I am now concerned with the quality control of this tool.

This is a great tool to have if you also have a hammer and nails handy. When I bought my first one, in less than a month it started giving a mild pfft instead of a snap when I went to drive nails, and wouldn't drive the nails. I returned it to HD and they exchanged it for a new one. The second on seemed to work, but I only tried it on a few trim boards and put it away. A few months later I got it out to put the finish trim around a door and about halfway through it started giving me the same results as the first one. If you hit the trigger 3 or 4 times it will finally drive the nail. When I took it to the HD tool center, it worked for them but I asked them to note that I had brought it in in case it died after the warranty expired. I still recommend the saw, because I literally wore it out. And the companion stapler that I bought at the same time as the nailer still seems to work fine. So, basically, this is a big thumbs down. Really handy, when it works, but very exasperating when it doesn't.

I have also gotten used to having to fight with those, constantly having to adjust them, clearing out jammed nails, making sure that the pressure is good, etc. I never knew there was an alternative. Needless to say, I didn't have great expectations for this electric brad nailer. I know Ryobi makes great tools, but there are still some battery powered tools that don't perform well. This nail gun is so easy to use and very reliable. After watching numerous videos on Youtube I felt comfortable using this gun. The instructions that come with gun suck real bad. Even the official video that Ryobi posted sucks. I had to watched 3rd party videos to learn how to use it. Once I got to learn how to use it, I enjoyed how easy it was to use. I went around the house fixing many trim pieces that were needing fixing. It is so nice not trailing a hose around the house. This has a nice light on it that gives you plenty of light where it is real dark where you are working. I would suggest this to the novice and the beginner person, only after watching the videos on YouTube. Otherwise this is a great nail gun and comes as a amazing nail gun, highly recommended.

Will NOT seat 2" nails in 3/4" hard maplenboards

I wanted to go cordless, so I purchased the Ryobi pin, brad and finish nailers with 2 chargers and 7 batteries. The pin nailer works great, but the brad nailer will not seat 1 5/8" and larger brads beneath the surface of 13/16" hard maple. I have not used the finish nailer yet, so I don't know if it performs on hard maple. My call to Ryobi was hardly reassuring. The tech was not familiar with the P320 and had to contact his trainer. His answer was to return the item to HD and get another one. I did that, but the replacement gun was worse than the one I returned. With the power level and nail depth set at maximum, the nail heads were higher above the surface than the original brad nailer. The issue i had was that the gun inconsitantly fires a nail. More than once it would not fire at all, or it would fire but not drive a nail, leaving a ding in the 15’ cabinet molding i was installing. Regarding the lack of firing, i checked the battery, it had a decent 3/4 charge, and in a second use, i did not have that issue again. Regarding the second issue fires but no nail driven, I discovered that as long as the nail strip was un-broken, the gun would shoot a nail each time it fired, however due to a slight mis-alignment between the firing pin chamber and the nail delivery chamber, if you load the gun with multiple small groups of nails, each small group will not advance into the firing pin chamber causing a misfire. stopped working after 3 months

Im a paint contractor and bought this for trim repair work. Used it maybe 6 times, shot no more than 200 nails. Stopped working, tried all youtube videos for troubleshooting and nothing. Went to home depot in october of 2023 and they said i would have to call Ryobi directly for warranty. Called and called and called and no one ever picked up or answered. I really like ryobi power tools cause of cost and function and i know maybe what i had was a lemon. But Home depot passing the baton and Ryobi not being available really leaves a crease in my liking to them. All i want is a new one that works.
