I was drilling into a 50x50mm fence post using the 6mm drill bit. Cordless drill at 500rpm (low speed). Drilled first hole fine, second hole killed the bit.

This is the second time I have replaced this drill set. The smaller bits do not seem strong enough. I broke 2 recently. Maybe I was using them wrong but they also seem to go blunt quickly.

Got this on the weekend had to drill a few pilot holes in mild metal screen to attach to fence. Only managed to get one or two before they were blunt very poor quality expected it to be better. Had a couple snap when they caught in the steel fence panel.

I've been contending with a lower quality Bunnings drill bit set for some time and finally decided to get this Ryobi drill bit set, it is much better in each way, better closing latch on the top, more sturdy outer plastic case, better hinge design to bring the drill bits forwards when you open the case, drill bits have been getting punished in wood and metal and so far are holding up pretty good. The bits are held fairly tight in their spots initially which makes first use harder, but after a few uses the bits come and go easily from their spots while not falling out if the outer case is knocked around in the toolbox. Great set all around

The Ryobi 19 piece metric high speed steel drill bit set is great as it covers all my drilling needs and is contained in a handy container so I'll never lose a drill bit again. The size enables me to keep it handy with my drill in the Ryobi carry bag.
The small bits are ok so far, but the larger sizes go blunt when used on mild steel of any thickness. Back to my 35 year old rusty P&N kit.
Drill bits are rubbish. broke more drill bits in 2 months of owning these, than I have in 30 years of building things. It broke in soft wood, 1mm aluminium sheet, hardwood. Absolutely pathetic, save your money for better drill bits like Sutton and up
Used the 8mm drill in mild steel first and could hear it go blunt within 3 seconds. After that it wouldn't even drill timber. The 'High Speed Steel' description is clearly false.Ryobi should be ashamed to sell this product, not what the brand is supposed to stand for.
nice little set for the price, used a few times. Good for diy... however just snapped the 10mm in soft pine and as per the other reviews I think quality is a problem. To replace 10mm, which I'll need as a common size, is a third of the price of the set...Haven't decided if I ought just buy a better quality set or replace one bit...
