I bought this (along with the string trimmer power head) to replace two-cycle gas powered equipment. I was really impressed with the power and clean cut! My old gas edger required two passes, twice the work, to achieve the same result. Very pleased with my purchase!

A rock or other hard debris popped a 2 square inch hole in the top perimeter of the shroud in line with my eye after about 3 hours of use over several uses last summer and fall and this spring. When soil is only slightly damp, the shroud becomes easily compacted with dirt. I'll be securing a metal shield over the hole. I was able to buy new 8" blades with 1" center hole for under $3 each in Edmonton which last as long as the $17.95 Ryobi blades that HD won't stock but must be ordered online. Sheesh.

I use this to trim along my curb, along interlocking paths, etc. Works good. Not good for cleaning up for example along a curb with 10 years of overgrowth. But for tidying up edges once or twice a year it works very nicely

This is a very good attachment for getting straight lines along your garden beds. To remove the sods easily use the edger to cut the sods in smaller pieces. This makes removing them much easier.
Very easy to swap out. Mud can get gunked up on the back side of the housing if you don't pay attention, this will affect cutting ability. Was quite easy to use.
Performs as designed to do.Easy to connect with main unit.Accurate home delivery within stated arrival time.
Product arrived on my door step with an open box. The unit was unassembled. No instruction manual. Missing parts. Online chat support from home depot was so bad it was embarrassing. They sent me a link to a Ryobi Guide showcasing 100 Ryobi products rather than actual operating manual. When I pointed this out, the online support started sending me Youtube videos which aside from the very enjoyable commercials did not provide any assembly instructions. If I want to google youtube videos, I can manage thay myself.
I really like this edger! I always wanted to be able to edge my sidewalk, curbs etc. Using my string trimmer did not yield the results I was looking for. So I thought I would give one of these edgers a try.I would recommend to anyone that wants nice clean edges.
I bought a Ryobi Mower, a trimmer and an edger through a promotion this May.Mowers and trimmers have produced fantastic results, but Edgers are very difficult to work with.It idles, but stops when you put the machine on the ground to start working. When I press the switch, it doesn't move, so I don't know what to do.I don't know if I should use a gas engine head or how to use it.I used the Black & Decker Wired Edger before. Considering the convenience, I purchased a Ryobi product that can be attached, but the results are disappointing. What should I do to use my Edger effectively?
Sturdy and accurate edger. It did a great job on about 200 feet of ragged overgrown edges in short order.
