18V Handheld Vac - A Little Beauty

Great little handheld vacuum with plenty of suction power. I use it in our motorhome on trips as well and perfect size, easy to clean and lightweight with little 2.5amp battery. Previous reviews mention dust from the exhaust but so far, no problems. A little beauty!

Chose the Ryobi hand vac as previously we had hand vacs that had fixed batteries. The vac would be ok but the battery was past its use by date & couldn’t be replaced. The Ryobi vac is very well built, it is heavier than some other vacs but is well balanced & therefore not tiring to use. With the small 2.5amp/ hour one + battery attached it’s endurance is amazing, suction remains strong, it operates at all angles, (good design). Emptying is quick if you just want to dump the sucked up contents, if you also clean the inner filter then it takes a little longer. I’m pleased with this hand vac especially since it will last much longer as I can change the battery. Great value for money. The only downside is the brush attachment, it’s a slide out fitting on the crevice ... MoreChose the Ryobi hand vac as previously we had hand vacs that had fixed batteries. I can see the reason it’s designed the way it is but having a poorly performing brush does take the shine off this excellent hand vac. I would much rather have the brush bigger & separate to the crevice tool.

Doesn't do anything particularly well

Pros: Good price just for the skin if you already have Ryobi 18v batteries, powerful 18v motor and long battery life with a decent Ryobi 18v battery, 6 year warranty.Cons: Masonry dust passes straight through filters and creates a cloud of dust. Not what you would expect from a power tool brand. For a household dustbuster it is very loud. Therefore doesn't do anything that well. Filters need to be washed out every month or two otherwise it quickly loses suction. The slide on the detachable crevice tool gets jammed up with debris easily. My advice. Buy a proper household dustbuster for around the home. If you need one for handiwork get one from a decent power tool brand if you can afford it.

Great power and suction
1 November 2022

A more compact size would be better, but this unit does the job well. A handy nozzle comes with it for using in the car etc, but the unit itself is a bit bulky to get into the areas for the nozzle to be useful. In the workshop it does a great job of cleaning up with plenty of suction. A bit pricey but comes with a six year warranty. I use a smaller battery to keep the weight down, which is a problem with all 18V tools.

Handy & Effective

Bought a month or so ago as well as the accessories. Absolutely great and powerful.I do Like how the battery also powers my drill and mini fan. The Charging time on the battery isn’t very long as well. Also helpful when you hear your parents doggo choke, so you wake up to see if they are ok, to then see maggots all over the floor from them bringing something from outside in that they shouldn’t.Those wriggly blobs didn’t stand a chance against the Ryobi mini vac and thank goodness it was able to get them all.Safe to say, little gross blobs are in the bin and the doggo is fine (just not allowed in this room anymore) and the gross scenario was over in less than 5 minutes (if I had to do that by hand, I would have cried haha)Do I recommend - absolutelyGreat ... MoreBought a month or so ago as well as the accessories. Little sucker punch
4 October 2022

I bought this little guy to clean up the mess that just seems to magically appear in my car. It does a great job and the supplied crevice tool is really handy to get to those just too difficult spots. Uses very little power from a 5ah battery and the detachable filter makes it a breeze to keep clean. Very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this little sucker.

Pathetic suction and i cant give zero stars
11 September 2021

I took a chance and bought one after reading the reviews not realising that the model has changed and it seems that the earlier model had good suction. Read all the latest reviews and you will see that everyone is complaining about both the noise and the suction. The noise I can tolerate but the lack of suction I can’t. You need to go over and over an area to pick up even small crumbs and grains of sand and in that time you may as well get out a proper vacuum.I have had goldfish that suck better than this.Ryobi! Please update this model and let your customers know the reasons for the update. You have some great tools otherwise. Luckily I didn’t buy the accessories pack as well.

Powerful and handy
10 September 2021

Very handy for doing small areas when you can't be bothered getting the regular vacuum out.. and no cables!! I mainly use it for laundry, bathroom and car. Ryobi's ONE+ system is great. Already had a hedger so use same battery/charger for this. Two minor cons: 1) given its size I was expecting it to be quieter 2) the opening/mouth is plastic and gets scratched up if used on a hard surface like tiles (but that's just cosmetic). Overall for quick, small cleanup I highly recommend this.

Ryobi's hand vacuum is the best, the others suck.

This is the hand vacuum I should have bought years ago. My son told me to get the Ryobi, but what do kids know? I've had one from Breville and one from Aldi, and one that lasted a long time but wasn't heavy duty like the Ryobi. All of them a waste of money. The Ryobi beats the others by a country mile. Two things though. It's heavier than all the others and it's probably because of the battery. It doesn't bother me but my wife says it's heavy, especially when you go to hang it on the wall on the hook. And that's the other thing. It doesn't have a hook. You've got the female on the vacuum but it doesn't come with the male, ie a wall hook. I have a box of hooks and found one that works but it isn't perfect, so there should be a wall hook included in the pack from ... MoreThis is the hand vacuum I should have bought years ago. Wow! It sucks… PERFECTLY! Definitely recommended!

Surprisingly powerful for a small unit. I now rely on this vacuum for cleaning my vehicle quickly & efficiently! The suction is epic, the ease of use is on point. Really happy I purchased this vacuum! Unlike others I’ve tried, this actually works as intended!
