A proper chainsaw.... to me it is better than petrol. No disadvantages beyond the fact that petrol fuel is essentially unlimited. I can't physically work with a chainsaw for an unlimited time anyway...
Purchased the Chainsaw over a month ago and have used it a number of times. Absolutely top notch chainsaw and I am extremely happy with it. The battery lasts a long time.
Very fast chain speed, cuts through branches like butter, well balanced with easy access to integrated tool for adjusting chain slack (which works very well).My first impression (after cutting through a 6” branch) was finally a battery tool that lives up to its claim of comparison to petrol versions… but after a couple weeks use, it’s let down by constant overheating on the type of job that would warrant this size of chainsaw. A fairly simple job took a few days due to having to stop and allowing the battery to cool or the battery running out of juice so quickly. Battery I used was a 36v 5 Ah. If needing to cut a tree thicker than your leg, it would be better (and a lot cheaper) to go with a petrol version.
Bought this because a lot of my other tools are Ryobi and was keen to see how it handled versus petrol saws. Tried it on a range of cuts e.g. big, small, green, dead, hard, soft etc. and simply didn’t have the power to do what you would expect. The chain / bar smoked frequently despite correct chain tension and plenty of oil. Something clearly wrong. Ultimately handed it back for a refund and bought an EGO. Only saving grace from the experience was the people at Bunnings were great.
I bought this a few months ago. Agree with the other comments - it's excellent, eats through wood and is powerful. You do have to be fit to use one (like all chainsaws), and the battery does get hot.But like all battery equipment, don't just have one battery - buy a few (we have three) and just rotate them on charge when you need to.
Great chainsaw. Enough grunt to cut through big logs and easy to handle. Chain speed is good. I used a 4amp battery with a 2amp as backup. The 4 amp ran well but the 2amp overheated and shut down pretty quick leaving me with an 18m tall tree dangerously unstable for 10min until the battery cooled enough to use again.
Great for pruning and a bit expensive for what it is. The size does not mean it can cut through 30cm+ logs, it simply doesn’t have the power - we did try try multiple wood types.Can cut logs up to 20cm and great if thats all you need it for. The saw drains the battery very quickly, you can get around 20/30 cuts in.I feel like the advertising is misleading. Should be more like: Its a great pruning saw for up to 20cm logs, can manage 30 cuts per charge with 5ah battery.
