I've used this and other descaling agents before. They all seem to do exactly what they are supposed to do. So my ongoing problem wjth my espresso machine is not the fault of the descaling product. If anything, giving itna good descaling helped me determine that scale build-up in my DeLonghi EC702 is *not* the problem, though I was hoping it was. Other possible solutions were suggested by the staff at time of purchase, which was helpful, but so far I have not been able to solve the problem.

I’ve used the Philips descaler for my Incanto espresso maker for several years (3-4) and it’s kept my coffee maker working well! I just finished cleaning our Carina Espresso Machine with the Saeco decalcifier. It does a great job. I only suggest that you use the directions that come with the machine vs those that come with the decalcifier. I will continue to use the Saeco Decalcifier for espresso machines.
Each time I get a bottle of this descaler, I spend 20-30 minutes trying to open the bottle. It is embarrassing to struggle so hard for something that should be easy! First I try pressing down and turning like a medicine bottle...no luck. I can see marks on the side of the bottle which seems to indicate I need to align but there is no mark on top showing how? I usually can figure this out after struggling, but today, I lost patience and just pierced bottle with a knife and emptied that way. Never again.
A couple years back this product was less then $10 on Consiglio's. Sad to see the price gouge, so do yourself a favour... just Google the product and you'll easily find a better deal. Don't mess with peoples espresso makers, especially an Italian's.
This decalcifier saved my machine. My excellent Saeco Aroma made it through 7 yrs only being descaled once until it finally gave up and broke down. On the advice of an authorized repair facility I purchased the Saeco descaler. They recommended purchasing the brand-specific descaler. Combined with a replacement portafilter-also from SCG (a well-intentioned friend took it apart for the worse), I am now making delicious espresso and crema. Going forward I'll descale every 2-3 months. it's critical. Very pleased with my purchases from SCG and will be back here in the future for future purchases.

Our beloved Saeco Aroma latte maker could no longer get water through to the coffee grounds. I bought a descaler at the local hardware store but after I read the dangerous ingredients I went on line to Seattle Coffe Gear where we’d bought the machine and found the recommended and sold this descaler. It came in two days. The directions were very clear. I followed them exactly and we are back to making our five morning lattes.In three months I will be buying more. Until now I have used vinegar but I am convinced.
