I knew there were quite a bit of the Y flankersn and sampled them, but I didn't even know about this new elixir that came out. I had the original Y EDT, and that smelled really good very fresh and mass appealing. I've had the EDT for many years now but I don't wear it as much as I used to because it doesn't fit with the person that I am now. I smelled the other flankers and could tell they were in the same family but nothing to make me want to get it. It doesn't smell like an old man. It is still modern, still smells very fresh, but not as bright as the others. It seems thicker and richer, but also spicy. It also has that clean smell like fresh out the shower with a luxury soap or body wash. It still has that linger in the air effect and it smells really good and gets better in the dry down. Now, I keep my skin moisturized, so how long I want it to last depends on the sprays, and not going crazy with it to make it last all day. I can do about four sprays and it's still strong on me about 5 hours later and after that I can still get whiffs of it as I move around. Projection is pretty on good when you first spray it, but it is more of an airy scent that floats and lingers. As far as when to wear it, it can be pretty versatile along the lines of a blue de chanel or a sauvage. It smells nothing like them, but it can fit many occasions. You can wear it casually during the day, for lunch/brunch, in the evening, or even a date. It is astonishing during the day in the air, but at night during close encounters it is alluring. As far as the price; it's a designer scent and its new so it fits this scent. Now to end it I will say this, I am not one to get flankers of a scent, if I have one in the family I am content, but this last one they made, definitely would get it. The EDT is for sure on the back burner now, because I will be choosing the elixir.

Initial spray to me, smells fresh and clean and then is meshed nicely with the ceder to add a richness and warm sort of woodsy scent. It’s a fabulous mix and light and fresh blended with more deep and warm tones.It really smelled nicely in myself as a lady a nd my guy also. He’s not a big fan of any sort of parfums or colognes on himself it I as he tends to be more sensitive to scents than I am, but he did still seem to be unbothered by this product.Upon first putting it on, it was a bit heavy or strong smelling so Iwas initially afraid it may be bothersome to anyone around that may be sensitive to scents. But was quickly able to tell that wasn’t the case as I went to the store right after applying. it and was a bit sad nobody asked me what I was wearing. Totally fine. It didn’t have a lot of staying power, you would most likely have to touch up mid day or in a high heat kind of day.All in all I would give this a 9 out of 10. definitely would recommend this product and i’m very grateful to have been givin this opportunity.

This surprised me as it turned out to be a woody&spicy offshoot on Y. The fragrance looks basic based on the notes but ends up more complex. You get the lavender at the top similar to Sauvage’s Elixir but has a rosemary edge to it. You will also find some citrus there but it’s fleeting to me. The base carries on what you smell initially and doesn’t seems to change much but oddly wouldn’t call it linear. There is something else going on here for sure, I just can’t pinpoint it.The forward progress of the fragrance goes spicy slightly floral while the rosemary and sage from earlier plus the citrus twangs still are present in lesser amounts. The woods are up front for sure but deepen as the time goes on, wood heavy here. This isn’t your stinky out that some think of, it’s 100% a woody oud. There is still earthy-ness here and maybe some patchouli ? I wonder if YSL kept some vetiver from the original in this Elixir… Frankincense supports the roll of the woods and does it well. I do also get a leather accord here and that could be from the oud as well. I would say this is a hit for the line up and isn’t just another bottle in the series and proves to be something that is my kind of fragrance. Performance is very good with moderate to strong sillage and moderate to long lasting longevity as of now. The bottle is fresh so time will tell if it changes either way.

I usually prefer feminine scents but YSL's Le Homme is one of my favorite masculine scents and is probably in my top 10 favorite fragrances so I was excited to try another masculine perfume from this brand. And Y Elixir is another winner in my book! This is supposed to be a warm, woody and spicy fragrance but this smells cool, fresh and citrusy with a hint of nuttiness to me. I guess my mind is misinterpreting all the notes: the spiciness = bubbly champagne carbonation, lavender & geranium = citrus, wood = nut. It smells like a super bubbly mandarin orange soda or champagne on me which I absolutely love. But it sprays a lot at once so spray further than you usually would and you won't get a big, wet splotch of perfume on your wrist or neck. And finally, I find it annoying that you need to firmly push the cap down until you hear it snap onto the bottle. I keep forgetting and then wonder why the cap is loose and wobbly.

My husband sprays 2-3 sprays before he leaves for work and 12 hours later I can still smell it on him. My husband comes home, still smelling like he just sprayed the cologne on him. I have never been able to smell cologne on him after him being gone all day until this YSL cologne. The top note in this fragrance is Lavender, middle note is Geranium the base notes are Frankincense and Oud. These notes are perfectly mixed together making this cologne smell very sexy and high end. YSL really made the perfect cologne that will make you drool every time you smell it. I highly recommend this cologne, I was given this cologne by YSL and influencer in return for my honest review.
