I wanted to buy the Sakura Pigma Micron pens in different colors to use on my Hobonichi since it is a great fineliner for that planner. I originally bought a multipack in different sizes of the black color from another website and found that the .25mm is the size I use all the time to write. I wanted to get this size in different colors, so I went to JetPens and saw they sold each color individually. The pen itself write really well. It is smooth and does not bleed through the Tomoe River paper on the Hobonichi (it does ghost because the paper is so thin but I do not mind that). The pen is very pigmented and does not skip any ink, which it should not because it is a fineliner. It does not release too much ink, as I found happens to other finelines like the ... MoreI wanted to buy the Sakura Pigma Micron pens in different colors to use on my Hobonichi since it is a great fineliner for that planner. The .25mm size is very thin but I write small in my Hobonichi anyway so it is not a problem for me. If you are someone who is used to writing with larger pen sizes like .7 then I would suggest getting the next size for these pens. The only thing I want to make note of is I noticed that when I compared it to my Pigma Micron pen in the black ink that I got from the other website, the labels and writing on the outside of the pen are printed on directly the barrel. However, this one that I bought on JetPens has the label and markings printed on a clear sticker label and is stuck on the barrel instead of printed directly. I wish I could provide a picture of the comparison because I do not know if that has something to do the the authenticity of the pens.Upon closer inspection, another difference between the two is that the purple writings on the barrel (where is says "Pigma" "01" and "0.25mm") in my black pen from another website is a lighter shade of purple than the one I purchased here on JetPens. As far as the writing goes, I only had this pen for a short while so I cannot really tell the difference between the wear and tear of the nib (I press hard when I write) but they both seem to write the same.Another difference that I noticed is the code right above the barcode on the barrel has different fonts. The one I purchased on the other website has a smaller font size with the same font type as the rest of the writings on the barrel, while the one I purchased here has a larger font size with a more type-writer font, which is different from the rest of the font on the barrel. My only guess as to why there are differences is because I bought the black pen in a pack with different sizes vs. this is sold individually. I am hoping neither are fake, but I won't look too much into it because I don't want to know. They both work perfect and I will leave it at that.

Pigma Micron 005 Archival Ink Pen comes in a variation of tip width. The pen used in this drawing was 0.20 line width. It is black in pigment ink and is waterproof as well as fade proof all while delivering on the details and find lines. The outline, border and extra dark shades in this drawing were produced by covering graphite with the pen. The pens work well on clean media as well as media with graphite. I mention this because unlike ball point pens and other non felt-tipped pens tend to get globbed up when tracing over graphite. The pens ability to deliver details and lasting quality is why I continually purchase these mirco pigment pens made by Sakura Color Productions Corporations from Japan. These pens are not the most expensive available to artists. Most artists are starving artists like me. If you are an artist that wants a mid-range price on a high quality pen, this pen will satisfy again and again. PS. The art is by the creator of this post. All rights are retained by me, the artist.

Sakura Pigma Micron size 05 - 0.45mm - Black. Love the archival qualities of the ink: permanent, non-acid. Don't love the stepped cylinder construction near the tip. I hold my pens close to the tip & I grip these Sakura Pigma Micron pens right AT the step from the smallest cylinder above the metal tip to the medium cylinder inside the area the cap covers. Even so, due to an unfortunate flooding incident (AC drain plugged & water dripped into plastic basket holding some notebooks & all pages were lost, EXCEPT those I'd written with Sakura Pigma Micron pens) I am switching from my previous fave & comfy to hold but NOT permanent Staedtler Triplus Fineliners to Sakura Pigma Microns for my general-purpose pens.

I recently tried the Micron Sakura Pen and I am extremely impressed with its performance. The pen's ultra-fine tip allows me to create precise and intricate drawings with ease. The ink flows smoothly and dries quickly, preventing smudging or bleeding. What I love about this pen is its versatility. It's perfect for creating fine lines and details, but also works well for coloring and shading. The range of available colors is also impressive, allowing me to experiment with different hues and tones. The pen's ergonomic design is also a plus - it fits comfortably in my hand, making it easy to use for extended periods of time. Overall, I highly recommend the Micron Sakura Pen to any artist or designer who values precision and quality. I love love love Sakura pigma microns. I have them in 3 different sizes. 01, 03 05. Amazing black pigmented pens. Clear and sleek liners. I’ve been using for many years. I use them to finish my liner art, botanical art and fashion illustrations. I use them in multiple ways, some times as base liner for my sketches and drawings, sometimes as finishing outliner as top layer on gouache, watercolors.
this pen, man. i love it. i saw someone in one of my uni classes taking notes with it and i was fascinated and had to get one. best purchase ever. usually im a pencil notetaker, but i made an exception for this pen and boy was it worth it. this pen writes consistently thick lines and doesn't scratch at all. it's a perfect pen. i would be a little concerned when writing on thin pages as it is technically a felt tip pen and those tend to bleed through a bit
The Micron pens are excellent for consistent color, spread, and detail. I've used several different size for drawing a fantasy map. I've used 0.05, 0.2, 0.5, and 0.8 consistently. The 0.05 is great for small shading lines, while the 0.8 works well for borders and coastlines on the map. Lettering can be with the 0.5 or the 0.8. Finally, the 0.2 is great for sand dunes, moutain outlines, etc.
I use the Micro pens in my watercolor paintings when I add trees that require small branches. Many people have commented on my trees and how realistic they appear in my paintings. These trees actually make my paintings stand out from other paintings they have viewed. Thank you Micron and for Michaels for carrying all the paints and pens I need to complete my master pieces. Regards, Charlie Mooradian
Love, love, love these pens!! They are the best. One thing to remember esp with the 01 pens is to put the cap back on after use, to prevent from drying. Otherwise the fine tip is wonderful. I use it on my acrylic paintings for some of the detail work. I do some sacred geometry and it is really the only pen that can get that fine detail I need when doing sacred geometry.
This is the second time I have purchased this pen. I love it as a writing pen. It's lines are crisp, clean & sharp, no smudging, dries instantly. I do volunteer work at an organization that requires us to be outside writing info on forms. Nov 2022 the outside temperature was 35 degrees & I was doubtful that a regular pen would write smoothly, therefore, I carried my Archival Pen with me and it worked like a charm. From this day forward it will be my only writing instrument. Got to stock up on more pens.

Sakura xsdk01-24 Pigma Micron Pen - 01 Purple
Pigma ink, invented by Sakura over 25 years ago, continues to be the most reliable permanent ink on the market today. Artists, consumers, the government, and scientists consider Pigma Micron a necessary basic tool for any archival-quality, handwritten project. This permanent, fade resistant, chemically stable, pigment-based ink will not bleed or run if liquids are spilled on or applied to the document after the ink has dried. Perfect for legal situations, Pigma ink is nearly impossible to alter on documents, in log books, or on checks. It’s no wonder architects, archivists, anthropologists, entomologists and laboratories depend on Pigma Micron for record keeping. Manga artists, professional illustrators and watercolorists use the seven point sizes to create precision lines. Scrapbook enthusiasts and crafters require its archival quality for preserving memories in journals, and for making cards, quilts and dolls. Use Pigma Micron to leave a mark that will last a lifetime. Sold individually.
