I bought this a month or so ago. Due to the extremely warm weather we’ve had I haven’t been able to try it out. I’m a great advocate for Salomon and own their hiking boots, Speedcross, shorts and other bits and pieces and even recommend them to friends. 1st run in the rain today and I am so disappointed in this jacket. I’m 5’11” medium build and take a size medium. The medium size in this jacket is so odd fitting. The sleeves come halfway down my hands and the elastic does absolutely nothing but let water in. The length is good but again the elastic does nothing so you can’t pull it to sit at your waist as it just hangs there.I bought this for running a skyline race at the organisers recommendation (someone is getting a back hander somewhere). Today’s run in the rain has put me off from wearing this jacket and it will probably lie in the bottom of my running vest in case of an emergency.

I bought this product looking for a polyvalent jacket that would protect me from the rain. The fit is odd since the body fits well but the hood and arms are way too big. It has very little efficiency in evacuating moisture whilst the waterproof membrane would fall into the water resistant category. I got soaked twice after using it under normal raining conditions. I would rate it as a good windproof jacket. It's been a real disappointment from a price perspective.

This jacket is claimed to have high breathability properties. Once used it during activities, even the lightest ones, the truth is that the jacket cannot let the sweat get out of it, not even a drop of sweat. Even wearing under the jacket the lightest and top quality upper underwear (Odlo, Under Armour), after running just 10 minutes, you will start dropping your sweat down from the wrists of the sleeves of this jacket, instead of letting the skin breath. It is like wearing a junk plastic bag. Very very disappointed considering the price of the item and the quality properties claimed in its description. Not recommend it all.

I bought this jacket a view months ago an I've used it several times during rainy weather.The breathability is disappointing. Although my body isn't as wet as running without the jacket the moister on the inside from sweat is sever. At the arm it's really bad and the jacket sticks to my arms. I also own a shake dry jacket from an other brand and this is much more comfortable then the bonatti jacket. In all it keeps you dryer then no jacket but for longer run or colder temperatures it's not my chose. I'll just keep it as a wind jacket
I bought this jacket in November. The primary purpose was for running. I have used it four times already. The jacket doesn't breathe, which makes you sweat more and doesn't help to evacuate the sweat, making it remain in the jacket and give you a wet feeling while running. You can feel like you are in a sauna suit. On many occasions while running, I had to open the sleeve cuffs to drain the sweat out.I regret having bought this jacket.
I bought this jacket a couple months ago a wore it a few weeks ago for a one hour walk in a very light drizzle of rain. When I got home and took off the jacket my long sleeve shirt was wet on the sleeves, shoulders, chest and back areas. This jacket didn’t do what it claimed to do, to be waterproof. In fact, it wasn’t even water repellent! I bought this jacket to wear on rainy days and it didn’t delivered what it claimed to do. I’m very disappointed with this jacket and I would honestly like a refund because it didn’t keep me dry as advertised! Do not buy this jacket you’ll be wasting your hard earned money!
Have bought this jacket for a year ago. I love the Salomon brand, and what they do for trailrunning. The best thing whit this jacket is the breathability. I can run for up to +10 degrees whitout socking up inside, and for hike even a bit warmer. But i am really tired of the hood. It's annoying that there is no straps for teitening the hood. It's like a big parachute when you not having it on. Especially when its windy. And when having it on, it's too big, and difficult to see to the sides and in front of you. I really miss to be able to adjust. I think I'm a normal size Medium, and according too sizechart i am. But the arms are a bit long. Anoing when running. I'm not running in -20 degrees, so i do not need space for extra layering.

Absolutely no impact on functionality, just a bit fiddly to do up on the move with muscle memory expecting the zip to be on the other side!Overall, I am disappointed with this jacket, especially for the price. My OMM, Adidas and ASICS waterproof jackets all fit much more appropriately for running in the rain. The reason I bought this jacket was to have something I could put on over my pack (which I think WILL work fine), something a little more substantial for the even worse rain ... but sadly it fails me badly on that last point.Honestly, I guess this is going in the drawer to be used basically never.On the plus side (but which also adds to the overall disappointment because I won't use it), the yellow/purple colour scheme is AWESOME!
I finally got to try the jacket under the rain; it claims to be "storm resistant" but 20min in the session and I was totally soaked.Also the white line next to the zipper is already tearing off (first time I wear it!).I really like the Salomon brand, but that product (at that price point) simply disappoints.
Purchased for mountain trail run. Didn't experience really bad weather, but the casual conditions on 3000+ altitude are handled really well.+ Indeed can be used on top of running vest. Top feature!+ Lightweight and compact. Can be packed and stored in vest pocket.+ Windproof and waterproof. At least for short exposure.+ Durable enough to handle accidental dirt or rock sliding.+ Small nice features, like front pocket with hole for the bottle or chest button for unzipped jacket.- If you have long hair or head bun, the hood won't fit well.Overall, extremely satisfied with the purchase!
