Salomon are my go-to brand for hiking shoes and these mid hiking boots tick the right boxes. Light weight, waterproof, comfortable and reliable. If your hike requires more than a shoe but don't want the sluggish weight of a full size boot these are a good option. If you have a wide foot look for the wide option in the salomon range. I typically get between 600-900kms of trail before the tread becomes too slippery. Although by that stage other parts are starting to wear through also.

I purchased them on sale and the quality is okay. However, this does not look like a genuine pair of shoes from Salomon. Comparing it with other brands, I can see signs of glue and residues in the shoe. But they are generally okay for casual use.

Stitching is good and having Gortex helps with walking in wet grass or scrubby areas.These are a good full day walking boot but not multiple day hiking with pack, Zamberlan or equivalent is more suitable. Well worth buying if you can get for under $200

Very comfortable. The waterproofing held up well. Walking over a rocky track was comfortable and felt like I wasn't going to slip and fall so good grip. Good light weight boot. Very happy with purchase. Bought 2 and returned the wrong size with absolutely no hassle. Anaconda staff are very helpful (Chullora store)
These are good boots. We hiked 60km in NZ wilderness, through mud and shallow water without issue. My only reservation is that the sole is too flexible for my liking. Fine on flat tracks but no fun on rough, rocky track. I could feel every bump and lump.My trail running shoes have stiffer soles.
My first oair of Solomon and I am convinced!I have been always using heavy duty full leather hiking boots such as Zamberlan and Scarpa before as they are reliable, durable and comfortable, and provides good support and protection.But this is so much better choice for just a day hike, without a heavy backpack. The whole pair wrights less than 1 single boot of those heavy duty leather ones, and they are so lighjt and comfortable as if I am wearing a pair of running shoes, while with reasonable anckle support, I have to say I am impressed by the new materials.The durability is yet to be tested as I have only own them for a couple of months.The fit is true to size for hiling boots. I find it narrow for some standard Ascis runners but I have no problem with these. I guess it will depend on individual as foot sharpes differ. These are a narrow fit, typical of Salomon, though I know to order a half size up, and while the soles are grippy there is little arch support and the insoles are cheap and nasty. Ditching those for insoles from my Salomon trail runners helped, but it's the cut around the ankle that is the main problem. They don't wrap around the ankle enough, and need another pair of eyelets to give better support around the lower ankle. All the pressure is either side of my ankle bone, which becomes uncomfortable, but if I loosen the laces the boot slips around the heel. Delighted with these lightweight boots, and the all day comfort that they provide. This is my second set, the first of which have not seen too much use due to being a bit tight. I earlier reviewed those boots saying that I felt that the sizing in this brand were on the small size, and going up half a size this time has been a winner. Also when people don’t buy our grain, lobsters, wine etc, I am even more pleased to see these boots are sourced from a friendlier nation.
I rarely buy items of clothing or shoes online, and this product confirms why...ALWAYS try something on before you buy !This is a poorly made item in my opinion. The left boot seems okay, but the right boot is uncomfortable, grabs the ankle and squeezed my right foot. I know it's possible to have 2 different sized feet, but never had this issue before. Simply can't wear them.
