Delivery was fast and great notification. Incredible value for a plated shoe. Suits a forefoot strike and is firmer than what I have encountered before. It’s one you will either love or hate but for the price worth a tryout

Quite lightweight but comfortable. The laces were pretty rubbish and were replaced. Also felt slightly smaller than the nominal measurement. The packaging claims the textile of the upper is made in France, but the shoes are made in Vietnam. The throat of the shoe is made from a material not unlike wetsuit material but much thinner. The "eyelets" are unreinforced holes in this rubbery material. The overall appearance is pretty snappy but given their tightness with winter socks, and overall light construction, they'll be saved for the warmer weather of summer.

Probably bought the wrong thing, but these are certainly the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever worn. Tongue is very thin and provides no dispersion of forces applied by laces. May suit a very advanced runner, but certainly not for me.

A little disappointing
22 May 2024

Salomon shoes fit me really well. My feet are a bit on the narrow side and these are a good fit with a not too wide toe box. I am somewhat disappointed with, of all things, the lacing. They come with laces that are way (30 inches) too long. Slits instead of round holes were used so the laces were a challenge to change. Beyond that, the tongue is so flimsy it scrunches up when you tighten. they do look cool though.

Begs to go fast

IIt is true what they say about this shoe, it's fast. Latest technology makes it want to go very fast. The upper is very light with one thing I didnt like " stratchy toungue" but other than that the upper is fine. Its fits true to size but for the sake of tor splits I would suggest a half size up. I dint have any issues with plush fitting but you may need to tighten the laces up for a proper fit. The heal area is fine for me on my 9 UK size (I ware 6 UK on a normal shoe), The carbon plate is the key ingredient to this shoe, its rigid and once you get going uptempo it responds accordingly with great rewards. PB can be achieved for a marathon time. Going slow may be tricky with this shoe, you have to let go to enjoy it. I have found that it requires constant use to get used to the toe off propel mechanism. Otherwise this she is simple magic. Equivalent to your most expensive Endorphin Pro 3 , yes it can do much better may be in the legs of an experienced runner. Don't hesitate, just buy the shoe. Very durable sole with great traction even in wet surfaces.

Light, comfortable, and fast
28 May 2023

So far only 2 runs but this shoe is comfortable with slower paced heel striking, midsole striking tempo runs and even faster paced intervals. Very pleased with the versatility and you definitely feel the extra propulsion from the plate.

Nice Road Offering from Salomon.
25 June 2022

Have really enjoyed the Phantasms and believe this is best road offering from Salomon to date. Sizing is pretty true to size and has a nice breathable upper. Coming from the trails, I wish there was a way Salomon could implement their quick lace system into some of their road offerings as well though.

Not a fan
27 July 2023

I've never had a horrible experience with a running shoe. After a couple runs I can figure out a distance the shoe will work for, or if it needs to be relegated to gym/treadmill/other activity shoe. This shoe is pretty bad though. Its not comfortable in various areas including the small toe side of the foot and around both sides of the front feet. I've used several Salomon in the past and they usually fit pretty well, but this one seems different. The shoe laces are horrible. I bought some replacements for the ones that come with it as they come untied incredibly easy. I even double knotted and that came out on one foot. I could have made that work, I just don't like double knotting, so really can't hold that against the shoe, although it would be nice to have laces ... MoreI've never had a horrible experience with a running shoe. Not as good as other Salomons I've had
6 August 2024

Great looking, in my opinion. Extremely light! But I found my foot would actually slip (only the right foot for some reason) towards to front - I would have to adjust by hitting the bottom part of the heel of the shoe so my foot would feel like it was in the "right" position. I've had probably 10 pair of Salomons and this is the only one I didn't like. I use them for walks around the neighborhood but not for running.

WARNING - Used Shoes!
12 March 2024

I received a used pair of these shoes from Backcountry. In order to "fix" the issue according to Backcountry's said policies, I had to send in photographs to show that the shoes were used. Next, Backcountry wanted to charge me for a second pair of shoes and refund the money after I drove the old/used shoes to a FedEx location to ship them back. Backcountry will not provide at-home pickup or a discount on the replacement shoes to rectify their error. As such, i returned all items and will shop at Amanzon, REI and Dicks Sporting Goods to receive quality customer service. I have shopped at Backcountry for several years, but it is impractical to waste time and money on a business when there are competitors that can do it better.
