Best hybrid binding

I love these bindings, the best if you ride haft the time in resort, half in the backcountry! Only down side: it can get stuck time to time if the snow is really sticky.

I love these bindings. While they do weight a teeny bit more than other touring setup, the compromise is WELL worth it. The exchange for a full toe piece instead of the 2-pin system ensures your boots won't pop out of the pin if you charge hard. I love that I can use these bindings at both resorts and backcountry days. (And....a few extra grams just makes you stronger!!!)

I purchased the shift about a year ago and was really excited about the versatility. I ski aggressively and was psyched about the ability to lock my toe in when going down hill. I used the bindings in BC and VT and in the course of the year had 3 different issues. I had to warranty the binding 2 times. The plastic pieces are weak and tend to break/fail when snow gets in the components. The last issue is what pushed me over the edge. The locking mechanism failed in touring mode and would not keep my boot locked in. This failure happened at the bottom of an avalanche shoot that I had just skied and needed to skin back up to get out. Not Ideal.Would not recommend to a friend!

Great Bindings
3 January 2022

Excellent bindings for charged descents.. quite decent on the uphill too, but on the heavier side. The brakes sometimes engage by themselves when on touring mode

Great bindings / great service
28 December 2021

Love the bindings. I have been a die-hard Marker guy but no love lost here. I live in the USA. It shipped DHL from the EU. Best tracking I've ever seen. Amazingly, I had it just as fast as if ordered from a USA e-comm site! I am a repeat customer (Bikeinn too) and love the deals on great gear. I am - and will continue to be - a repeat customer. A+++

Outstanding

I have owned these bindings for two seasons, and they are mated to Head Kore skis.I haven’t done too much back country skiing yet. I use them downhill with Scarpa Maestrale AT boots (not the ultra lights).I bought them because my boot -binding- ski package weighs about a pound less on each foot, compared to a strictly alpine package. It?s less stress and less effort to ski, and ski better with lighter equipment under foot, and obviously you can use them in the backcountry.I am compelled to write a review as I have read complaints about their durability and the boots ability to stay clamped in downhill. After two seasons, I can personally attest the possibility of a boot popping out of these bindings in downhill mode is ZERO.They are bomb proof bindings. I am not an expert skier so I don’t have these bindings set at high tension. They are set at a 6 or 7 DIN and they aren’t going anywhere. If I have to hack down the steeper portion of a black diamond, the last thing I worry about is the bindings.Downhill, I would pit these bindings against ANY alpine binding for reliability unless you are a professional Super G skier exerting insane forces on your boot.I would be curious what a professional free styler thinks of these bindings. As to reliability, my bindings get abused.I see no possibility of them breaking unless you subject them to extreme abuse. Having said that, I would be careful about the process of converting the binding from downhill to touring. I can see an impatient skier using a pole or a tool and snapping the front fittings. Finally, I weigh 190 so I am not exactly a bantam weight skier. The bindings are bomb ProofJust don’t abuse the fittings

Quick and great value service
8 December 2021

The best price I could fine and super-quick service meant I had them within a couple of days. The product is definitely the best on the market for a mix of alpine and touring skiing. Not as light as a pure touring binding but much greater stability.

Super service: great packaging, fast shipping and great price! I do not comment on the attacks because they are now a must

too many moving parts
27 March 2024

I was so excited to get these bindings so I could use my new skis for both backcountry and in resort. The first time I went to adjust them between my backcountry boots and my alpine boots, the front toe piece, the toe piece wouldn't adjust all the way down. I brought it to a shop at Snowbird and they said they can't be fixed and I had to pay to demo skis for the day. I brought them to my local shop before returning them and they were able to get the piece adjusted, but it wasn't easy. I skied them on a big powder day yesterday and they skied fine but not worth the huge headache.
