Excellence
I've been using Solomon hikers exclusively for years now and they never disappoint. These are my first trail runners and they fit exact as expected. Solomon shoes do fit narrow feet snuggly so keep that in mind. The cushioning provided good protection. The grip is amazing as I was hiking very steep muddy hills with no slipping at all.Quick Lace system is the best feature I think. Just pull evenly and it stays fixed all day. It's definitely 100% water proof too.Paired this with my Solomon gaiters and I'm good to go!!... Show more

Great All-Around - Comfortable Shoes 🌟 🌟
I really enjoy my Salomon SPEEDCROSS 6 Gortex shoes. These shoes asre very comfortable and functional. I wear them all times of years. I do lots of traveling for my photography. I wear these shoes everywhere I travel. Because these shoes are made with Gore-Tex, I never worry about wet grounds or places with surface water when I am out shooting. Admittedly, I really enjoy and own many different pairs of Salomon sneakers/shoes. 👍 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟... Show more

Great comfort- street or trails, and waterproof!
I've had these for a couple of months and they're super comfortable mile after mile, even with troublesome feet and aging basketball knees.Serious leg break as a kid left me with one leg a ½ inch shorter than the other, so custom orthotics have to fit into my off the shelf shoes- but only way that works is to lose the sweet Salomon insoles so the orthos can have that thickness to do their magic and have my foot in the right place in my shoes.I'm close to 70 but am a daily 5k cardio walker but also get in a 10 or 12km trail hike with 3 or 400m of elevation change on the rocky and root-y Vancouver Island forest trails in my area- a place where it rains thru the winter months. The soles of the Speedcross 6 excel on the trails and seem to be holding up well so far ... The fit for these shoes are perfect for me.Basketball also beat up my ankles as a young guy, so my winter hikes also see me wearing a pair of Salomon Cross Hike 2's with their mid boot design to prevent ankle sprains when I'm hiking more steep rocky bits and less trail terrain and want the boot height and stiffer torsion sole but a very similar sole that stands up, grips well and again mud and dust wash right off with all synthetic materials.I have fussy feet and Salomon has given me happy feet again and makes it easy to get the steps and stay really active!... Great Shoe
I do a lot of hiking in these on warm days and find them very comfortable & dry. Was really impressed on how dry they kept my feet on a wet day. The tread on the bottom of the shoe seems to wear out fast, but I'm in Colorado doing 3k of vert a few times a week on the mountain. I don't think I can expect the tread (that I love) to last a very long time when I'm using them so aggressively. Currently have 3 pairs in different colors and won't hesitate to buy some more. My only complaint is that two of the shoes near the heel has started to wear out from me sliding them on and off (I'm assuming, and only on the right foot), but I think that may have something to do with the way I was taking them off and not loosening them up before I did. Still 5 stars in my opinion. ... MoreI do a lot of hiking in these on warm days and find them very comfortable & dry. Was really impressed on how dry they kept my feet on a wet day. Great Shoes!!!!!!!
I truly like this shoe. Fit, comfort and grip is amazing. The overall shoe is by far one of the best out there. My only complaint is the last pair of speedcross shoes I bought the rubber/vinyl front upper will start to crack about 10 months after wearing shoe. I am hoping this new pair I ordered doesn't do that. I also have a pair of Alphacross 5 Gore-tex and they are great shoes as well but the gore-tex will still allow your feet to get damp. I just bought another pair of the Alpha Cross 5 Gore-tex and I am hoping that has been corrected as well.... Show more

Great Support, Terrific Shoe
I was on the hunt for a good hiking shoe, but one that was lightweight and had enough support to get me through a few different terrains (waterproof wouldn't hurt either). I took the advice of a hiking pal and decided to try out the Speedcross 6. I heard that they ran a little narrow (they do) and when I received my first pair, the fit was just a little too snug (the wide version was unavailable). I went a half a size up, and they were just perfect. Not too roomy, just enough to be comfortable, with the most support I think I've ever had in a shoe. I took them for a spin last weekend and they were all that I expected. Easy to move in, gripped well on dry and wet terrain and didn't weigh my foot down. Great shoe! Runs narrow.... Show more

Grippy!
I took these shoes to Kauai recently and they held up great. I did a lot of hiking on various terrains, including mud and volcanic rock. In muddy terrain they did well, they didn’t slip off my foot and they were easy to clean off. On packed dirt, they were nice and grippy even while slightly damp- I half expected to start slipping on the looser areas of dirt like gravel on an incline, these shoes gripped the ground well. On the volcanic rock, they endured lots of nooks and crannies, sharp edges. For me, that was the real test because volcanic rock can be very sharp and would easily shred up a cheaper made shoe, especially the outsole and tip. I got them wet a few times crossing a number of rivers during a hike in Hanakapi’ai. The outside stayed dry, the inside did ... MoreI took these shoes to Kauai recently and they held up great. When I got home, I left them outside for the night to dry and by morning they were only slightly damp, I put them on anyway and they felt fine even with the slight dampness. No funky smell from the water exposure. The shoes were also very comfortable right out of the box, no breaking in or stretching was necessary. I would buy these again in a heartbeat! Awesome, durable shoes!... Show more

Love these shoes
I have worn Speedcross shoes exclusively for all my workout needs. A Goretex version for the winter to keep my feet dry and warm on trail in the snow. The regular version for breathability on beach runs in the summer. They go backpacking with me on my AT section hikes and trekking in Nepal. They keep a grip on the terrain and in slick situations. I can’t recommend the comfort and support enough. Comfortable from the first day to the day they get retired.... Show more

Solid trail running shoe
My wife and I usually find ourselves trail running/hiking on rocky terrain especially in Maine and were recently looking for a trail shoe that would accommodate this type of terrain. We are big Salomon fans and after constantly reading and hearing nothing but really good things about the Speedcross, we decided to get a pair each. After a dozen or so outings we are so happy with this choice! This shoe feels so solid and substantial while being light and looking really nice. I am looking forward to the summer and trail running and hiking in Maine and New England where rocks are abundant and part of the landscape and we won’t have to worry about whether are shoes are up to the task. We have found the Speedcross. Thank you Salomon!... Show more

Wears out too quickly, with standard use
I originally had the XA PRO 3D, which wore out too quickly, in terms of the Gore Tex water proofing & sole rubber). Salomon agreed to replace (which is great customer service) and I purchased the SPEEDCROSS 5 GORE-TEX (predecessor model to the new Spreedcross 6 Gore-Tex).Unfortunately this shoes has also worn out now after 1yr & 4months. I don't do a lot of running, I have separate summer running shoes, and I also don't scrap my feet along the ground when I walk. Therefore I am surprised they have worn out so quickly. They are light, and fit well, but I can't afford to replace shoes so often.... Show more
