Salomon XA Pro 3D V8 GTX Women UK 6.5 / Black/Black/Phantom

The shoe was beautiful. The colours were exactly what i was looking for. The right shoe was ver uncomfortable on the inner side. It felt as though there was something stitching into the shoe which was digging into the side of my foot. I didn't even wear them out, just wore around the house and the one side was so uncomfortable no matter what socks I wore. I had to take them back but the shop didn't have anymore in this colour so I swopped for another colour. But these were the ones I really wanted. I have another pair of the same style and they fit perfectly, so do the ones I swopped for.

Bring back, bring back, bring back my X-Mission 3s to me.Yet Salomon shoe returned to REI. Nothing has worked since the X-Mission 3 - which I have been told was the greatest Salomon trail running shoe of all time.These are so different. Narrow toe box, narrow across the top with no means to adjust, stiff. After just 1 hour wearing them around the house both my baby toes were red.That's the problem with so many shoes these days, they are making them longer and narrower. People's feet didn't just change overnight so why did your shoes?What were you possibly thinking when you discontinued such a wonderful shoe as the X-Mission 3?Bring back, bring back, bring back my X-Mission 3s to me.And don't tell me you changed them because of people's comments. Comfy, Lightweight, Sturdy and Waterproof, but fit half a size small

I have quite the collection of Salomon XA Pro 3D GTX v8 shoes. The more recent versions all seem to fit a half size larger than normal (I normally wear 9.5, in these I wear 9). They fit a bit narrower in the toe compared to previous models. They are quite stiff and rugged, so if you tend to stub your toe and trip over things like me, these have you covered. The pull laces and little stow pocket on the tongue are way more convenient than laces. I find the tongue a bit annoying as it is quite short and tends to get stuck in the shoe when I put my foot in. Now that I know to expect and compensate for it, it is easy enough to avoid. These have put up with a lot of abuse, but remain waterproof and look like new (outside of a bit of dirt). Excellent hiking footwear

Bought these this spring for backcountry hiking and have worn them all summer for my day hikes and a couple of 5 day backpacks. The sole is nice and stiff for walking on rocky terrain, they are not goretex, not waterproof but have mesh that breathes very well so my feet stay cool. They are showing a bit of wear where the shoe bends behind the toes which I think is amazing considering how light they are. Bought another pair already for the day when these ones die. Given the wear I think they will be around for at least 2 more seasons. And these are the best fitting hiking shoes I have owned!The only thing that I needed to do was cut the shoe laces loop as they snag in the bush. Almost send me for a tumble.

Just not as good as they used to be

Ive been wearing Salomon for years and I have always loved them, but recently the quality is just not the same on these newer models. I bought a pair of the last model and they wore our so quickly on the material. The shoe and sole were fine it was holes coming in the materials around the lacing after just a couple of months. Anyways Salomon were great and replaced them with a pair of these and within 3 months the gortex was shocking and I was getting really wet feet. So now I still have no suitable shoes for the impending winter ahead. I have emailed them again. I hope they offer some resolution on this.

Lace causes toe pain

I have had a few pairs of Salomon trail shoes and boots over the years and love the quick lacing system and have been lucky not to break mine ever. I wanted to replace my old x-ultra OG's with these beauties but after walking around the house for 10 minutes I found the toe area is quite flexible because the mesh area on top seems flimsy and thin. Also, I could feel a bit of pressure with each step across my big toe and realized that the new lace attachment at the big toe area on these actually pulls on the toe box and I could feel the chord across my foot or at least pulling the side of the shoe so that I felt the bend of the shoe on the top of my feet. The blue colour is gorgeous, the fit I found tts in my size for Salomon which is about an entire shoe size down from what I wear in regular shoes. I would say there is a lot of room in the toe box area if you have a wider foot but the tugging from the lace system when you walk makes it feel tight and loosening them did not help. Hoping more sizes in other models become available because I liked everything about these except that lacing placement.

Not the same anymore

They actually lasted 8x 4-hour mild hikes, before getting holes in the upper fabric (toe flexing) loosing completely the water-proofing (which was surprinsingly not very good from the beginning). This not even a year after the purchase.This is the third pair of XA 3D GoreTex (the first pair in 2012, still have them, def my most confy shoes ever, but look destroyed). I bought them again with my eyes closed because of the unreal durability, confort, stability and waterproofing of my previous models. PLEASE bring back the Salomon greats!!

Every since I bought my first pair of Salomon Missions, I have been the brand's biggest cheerleader! I told everyone I knew that Salomon was the absolute best trail shoe, and I pointed many friends, as well as students, to the brand. I ran through many versions of the Mission, followed by years of the Speedcross and eventually the Supercross. I have been searching for a new Salomon shoe that looks, feels, and performs as amazing as all of my (too many to count) previous ones, and I can not find one. I am sooo bummed!! I have spent hours online searching for previous models of my favorite shoes, hoping to find some still out there, but I have come up empty. Strangely enough, I kinda feel like I've lost an old friend, ha! This is my fourth pair of Salomon XA Pro 3D shoes

This is an amazing pair of shoes, and actually my FOURTH pair of Salomon XA Pro 3D trail running shoes. I actually use them for running on every day terrain (not just trail running) because the support is so good especially around the ankle. The ortholite sole has been a gamechanger for me as a long distance runner. It does take a little while to mould to the soles of your feet (I have very flat feet). I'm also a big fan of the quicklace technology.While they may not look like the "coolest" shoe on the market, they are definitely intended for professional wear and practicality rather than aesthetic design.The only disappointment that I have is in the range of colours in my size that are available at the moment. My previous XA pro 3D shoes have been in much more "fun" colours, but I really needed to replace my old pair because I was running so much that the treads had worn down.I would recommended sizing up half a size if you can if you are considering buying the Gore-tex version of this shoe.Oh - and as a bonus - these are also a great shoe for hiking medium level terrains. The myth that you need a higher coverage hiking boot completely goes out the window when considering the XA Pro 3D.

This model used to be good

I had a pair of these I absolutely loved. Great ankle support, nice arch support, good comfortable fit and good traction. Unfortunately Salomon changed the design somehow and now they are pretty terrible. One pair gave me an Achilles problem. I thought it was a defect and tried to do a warranty claim but was a couple weeks beyond the time frame so they didn’t honour it. I ordered another pair from Poshmark and have the same issue, much looser fit, one won’t stay right at all. It’s such a shame because the original pair I had were great. I do NOT recommend you purchase these if you’ve loved them in the past. Just not the same shoe at all.
