Bad material/bad quality
I am so disappointed. I never complain about items but for the price you would expect better. These shoes scuffed on first use causing some of the colour to rub away. They have only ever been used lightly but have worn down so quickly (started wearing them about 6 months ago). The thread is fraying and now a patch of the shoe by the ankle has started to wear away. After about 5 minutes of wearing, sweat patched become visible on the 'breathable' material.Any other salomon shoes I/a friend has owned previously have lasted a long time with heavy use. It seems as this model of shoe are in fashion at the moment, the quality of the materials have been compromised causing them to wear away quickly.... Show more

Bad Quality
Ordered a pair of shoes. They were previously worn and scuffed on the left sneaker. Contacted Salomon about the damage. Then returned the shoe. Ordered again. They sent me back the same exact pair of damaged sneakers I had just returned with damage on the left sneaker. Attaching a picture so if anyone receives this sneaker they can return it again. At this price point I would expect a brand new unworn pair of sneakers. The seams in a previously purchased Salomon’s are coming out. I am new to this brand. Overall, the worst quality I have seen in a shoe.... Show more

Flawless, comfortable and durable
I've been wearing Salomon hiking shoes for years. My old XT-4 were finally a bit worse for wear (I still wear them for yard work) and needed a replacement. XT-4 weren't in stock, but the XT-6 were. I was pleasantly surprised how well the fit my narrow feet (similar to the XT-4). Plenty of cushioning and very good traction on the trail. It was funny, we had a party of nine people that went to Montana (Glacier National Park area) and of the nine, eight had Salomon shoes. The one person in our party that didn't have Salomon's had issues. His were brand new and showed major signs of wear at the end of the trip. Everyone else's shoes, including my XT-6 were flawless. As you can see in the photo, I'm actually wearing Salomon shirt, shorts and shoes. Love these shoes and ... MoreI've been wearing Salomon hiking shoes for years. Huge fan of the XT-6
I bought a pair of the black XT-6s and they have been great. I wore them for almost two years while doing lots of walking (I walk to work a total of five miles there and back plus whatever I walk during the day) and they were very comfortable and very durable. I never really used them for running, but for walking they were fantastic. I need a wide toe box and these fit great, with enough room for my feet while still being really stable and secure. The arch support was great. My feet never really got tired in them. And they look really great as well. I will definitely be buying more XT-6 shoes in the future.... Show more

Looks great, feels terrible
This shoe has blown up thanks to celebrities wearing them like streetwear. I think that is why the quality of the shoe has gone down to keep up with demand, and feels nothing like the build quality of my older Salomons. This shoe runs very narrow and long and uncomfortable from the get go for me. I got the 7.5 and had a lot of room between my toes and the tip of the shoe but my midfoot was screaming. No amount of loosening would fix that. I cannot imagine how this sizing is gender inclusive unless all genders have a very narrow and long foot!... Show more

Meh, super overrated sneakers
I had heard good things from a couple people about Salomon’s. However, when I ordered and got them I was disappointed. I got them to replace some hiking shoes and I initially liked how grippy the outsole is. I tried them on after a 3.5 mile hike to make sure the length and width were correct and they although the width is good, the heel felt clunky and the interior footbed was very uncomfortable. I thought it was just the cheap liner, so I put a pair of insoles in them, but that made no difference. In fact I tried two different insoles and the interior of the shoe was so uncomfortable, after taking off my other shoe. I also noticed that the mesh upper material seemed too thick and not breathable at all. The laces were also quite long and unlike the Salomon ... The laces were also quite long and unlike the Salomon Speedcross, there isn’t a pocket on the tongue to store the pull mechanism or rather there is one, but it’s half sewn shut, so unusable for that purpose, which made no sense, so it flops around when you walk. For the $200 price, these shoes were not high quality at all. In fact I am surprised these are so popular since the actual footbed is not comfortable for even 5 minutes let alone a trail run/walk. Anyway, back they went. I’d highly encourage people to try these on after a run to ensure they work for you.... Show more

Quality has gone down
When I bought my first pair of Salomon XT-6s, I immediately fell in love with how comfortable it was and didn't take long to break in. I liked that it was a medium firmness cushion, and it was durable. And laces? See ya!I'm at a point in my life where I'm willing to pay extra for comfort in an everyday shoe/sneaker and I thought this would be the one.Over time and a few pairs, I noticed they were wearing down faster and were more uncomfortable even right out of the box.Since this model in particular has gained a lot of streetwear popularity in the last few years, you can tell the quality has gone down so they can pump out more quantity. Even though its a "sportstyle" shoe, the quality shouldn't have to suffer.I'm not sure if I can continue to purchase this ... So so comfortable - but soles just don't last
I have a couple of pairs of XT-6s and they are by far the most comfortable shoes I own. Truly a pleasure to wear, especially with good fitting socks. I do have narrow feet, which helps. The main problem is that the sole is so thin, I've had this pair for nearly a year , not too much use but the soles are through to the foam already so are likely to only last another week or so.This is even more annoying as the rest of the shoe is in perfect condition, they don't even have the weird splitting round the heal that my other Salomons have (which I don't really mind)My other Salomons soles lasted until the rest of the shoe was falling apart (usually 3 years) so it can be done!I appreciate they are for use on Soft Ground (even says so on the side) but to get to the ... Stylish shoe with functionality and comfort
I purchased these for a trip to Scandinavia last year. They are super lightweight for packing and traveling, and are extremely comfortable. Soles are very grippy. They are also very well ventilated and as a result not waterproof at all. This is a great warm, dry weather/summer hiking shoe, but I wouldn't recommend it for wet or muddy environments. I will be purchasing a Gortex version for hikes up here in the Pacific Northwest.... Show more

wear and tear
great comfy shoe, but durabilty is lacking. I have purchased 6 pairs of these walk hikers as its a good lighweight shoe, the problem is they only last weeks. the material in the shoe box maybe too thin or not durable and the sole wears out very fast. this being ssaid, i do use them 4-6 times per week and would expect a little more life out of them. i will still buy another pair, just hoping they can maybe look at a better solution.BRING BACK THE OLD STYLE SALOMON SANDLES!!
