I have been very active in the kitchen and always felt need for an accurate salter that I could depend on. I have been purchasing some mediocre quality salters (the ones you usually get in retail stores) and to put it in the simplest words, they were far from dependable. Poor build quality, battery running out quickly, inaccurate measurements were some of the issues. Then I ordered this one. When I opened the pack, I could tell straightaway that build quality is excellent. It has a sturdy feel to it. One of the handy features is the liquid measurement. Bought to replace Salter scales at least 20 years old whose display had finally failed. These are more compact and more accurate, but the old ones had a major advantage, which was that the display was angled towards the front. Being level makes it harder to read, as the numbers aren't clear unless seen straight on so you have to lean over and look down, but then if you're using a large bowl it will obscure them. Other features are all more or less the same, so it's a shame to see design going backwards in terms of functionality.

This scale is easy to use, great versatility (solids/liquids etc.). Good design, small footprint. Love the simple AA batteries compared to other brands with more fiddly options. Warranty period is excellent.

I've had this about a week and I'm pleased with the clear display in good large characters - even the oldies can read easily! The buttons are responsive. I doesn't cut our too quickly like our old ones - so gives a reasonable time to add something before switching off. It has an off switch so as not to waste battery life but will turn off automatically if left for too long - I think 3 mins? The only downside is that it's already slightly scratched. I've had my old ones for at least a decade and there's not a scratch on them. I would also have liked less branding on the weighing surface. They're quite small and neat. I'm not sure if that's going to turn out for the good or bad yet! But they certainly don't take up a lot of room. Good Quality product, very precise and stable. I like three button design although it seems like a very small difference it makes life easier. The metal bit got scratchy after a few uses, if you are keen about the looks you have to use something soft in between as a bumper.
Early indications are that the product is close to the accuracy stated and has a wide dynamic range. Physical design is very attractive and solid construction. Buttons could attract residue around the gaps but much nicer than the alternative flexible membrane type. I think I'm going to love these. Ask me in a few months time. Don't buy from the salter distributor in the UK postal packing was disgustingly inadequate. I'd spent 50 pounds on a delicate instrument , not good enough!
Ordered these blinds on the 18th June estimated delivery was the 25th of July but the arrived early on the 8th July. These are very stylish and give my home a modern feel which is great. The only negative is that while the brackets are included screws and wall plugs are not, so had to go and buy these to be able to put them up. For the price of these blinds I would have thought they would have been included. I would recommend these blinds but beware you will need the screws and wall plugs! I bought three blinds for the front of my home and my partner installed these with ease, but is very competent are diy.
I've had this for a week and it works very well. I've also had the 'Heston Blumenthal Precision Dual Platform Digital Kitchen Scales' for about ten years and i compared the two by weighing one item on both to see if the weights matched, which they did. The only thing i don't like is that the scales 'error' if items are sitting on them when the scales are turned on.
Purchased for us in home brewing - 0.5g increments are great when it comes to weighing out hops and yeast. The main thing is the sensitivity at low masses, cheaper scales often dont seem to read correctly or register a mass at all under 10g. These scales do the job well, and are getting used for baking too. Build quality seems fine - in the photos (computer generated images I suspect), the product looks very highly finished and sleek, though in reality it is not quite as refined. On the images, the top-pan looks like a brushed aluminium plate of some thickness but in reality this is pressed from thin stainless steel on a plastic base. After all, it's £30 and seems reasonable value. But, the images raised my expectations beyond the reality. I love the way that I can see the display properly and have the option to add and weigh.What I'm disappointed with is the size of the weighing plate.It doesn't feel sufficient when u put ur bowl onto it and then add ingredients.Apart from that, it's ok an does what it's meant to
