I struggled with debilitating cramps during training runs whenever I would hit 18 miles. Bought these and took them for the first time during an actual marathon. Still had cramps but they came at mile 22 and they were not as bad as the ones I got during my training runs, i.e., my quads and calfs did not freeze up completely. I was still able to run/jog to the finish with pain. Whether it was just the adrenaline from the actual race or the SaltSticks or the constant intake of fluids, it got me through the race. Overall I would recommend, if nothing else you get 30 mg of caffeine per serving.

These are absolute lifesavers! I have orthostatic hypotension and POTS, so I deal with low blood pressure and pooling. These salt pill help with my circulation and blood volume to raise my blood pressure. Plus, there's also other vitamins/minerals in there that help with dehydration as well. They've made a huge difference in my health and don't make me nauseated like other salt supplements have. Definitely suggest these for athletes or for people who deal with health issues like me.

I was having a hard time stabilizing my electrolytes with hot yoga and general sweating throughout my work day (I do a physical job) but as soon as I started taking these caps, my life changed for the better, dramatically. My energy levels increased, no brain fog and the added bonus, I've noticed that I no longer have sugar cravings since taking these!It's been an amazingly simple addition to my daily life and I can't imagine where I'd be without these caps.Thank you to whom formulated these! Product delivered has a long expiry date and at the current price is great value.I've used the original saltstick caps for years.Do what they claim to do. On multiday fastpacking journeys, they help me to keep moving on long days. I always feel better the following morning when I've been taking them.When not speed hiking or fastpacking then I'm Running or Cycling. They're a great help for endurance thanks to the ratios that work for me.If your a ketogenic athlete, they're great for their minerals.
Nothing new on race day - except I did for these, and they worked a dream, helping me to a 6' marathon PB. Great addition for salty sweaty runners to help prevent electrolyte loss and muscle fatigue. Strongly recommended. Suggest getting tiny plastic bags to portion up and keep them dry.
I’ve recently discovered Angela Stanton’s Migraine Protocol which is partly based on keeping properly hydrated - water isn’t enough - regular salt intake is required. These are perfect for keeping properly hydrated when out and about - beats carrying a bag of salt around! As a photographer I’ve recently had several days of working on location in summer heat - usually a sure thing to cause migraine for me. Having the Salt Sticks has been a godsend and helped to keep me migraine free. Highly recommend and hope they are back in stock soon!
Lots of my friends brought the competitor's dissolving tablets to this thing in the desert we were at. Almost all of them struggled with headaches and fatigue. I shared a few of these and the immediate boost of electrolytes helped to resolve their symptoms very quickly. Taking these from the start helped me avoid any of those problems. If you're drinking 1-1.5 gallons of water a day and fighting heat and altitude in an extremely arid environment, you're gonna need the kind of punch these give. Highly recommended, and well worth the price tag.
Whilst Saltstick Capsules do what it says on the tin; ie. they restore salts, etc lost through exercise, I find that the coating of the capsule is quite thick and hard to breakdown. I actually keep the capsule in my mouth rather than swallowing it. Even after a few minutes the coating has not broken down, or dissolved and it is necessary to bite into it. I can then taste the contents and start to swallow. A minute, or two later, I then either chew the coating, or spit it out. Yes, the product works, but I would not be confident about absorbing the contents if I swallowed it with water. I would prefer the coating to be changed to a more soluble consistency.
Nothing better than saltstick! I use these on marathons (3-4 during the race) and for ultras (basically 1 per hour, along with other fueling). That said, I'm a big guy (95kg)... so, I need a bit more electrolytes to keep from cramping! If you cramp up, then grab SaltStick... completely changed the game for me.
