Let me show you why:- For international trips in economy the size is the official- For Business Class in international or domestic flights you can expand it and have extra space that the previous model don’t have- Has an USB to put your charger (previous model not)- the interior has more pockets- The handle is double, easier to put the bag pack or the computer bag or the purse- Regarding weight is very light as the previous modelI took some pictures comparing the two carry-on. The Proxis is categorized as a domestic carry-on size, UNTRUE! Measurements are incorrect! It is an international size roughly 22'X14"X7.5". I own that samsonite size. HORRIBLE customer service...you talk to a computer that doesn't address the problem. Went back and forth to receive only generic answers. RETURNING! Major waste of my time. If they do not reimburse the entire amount INCLUDING shipping cost I will dispute through my credit card. Yes light weight but I wanted a larger bag that was expandable.

Pros:+ Made in Europe.+ good coating. not easy to scratch, we traveled overseas to 3 different countries and not one single scratch.+ Like another reviewer noted, it does dent.. but it's so easily popped back up. Ours dented on top & we were surprised how easily this happened. Once we got home we just pushed it back up and it looked like new. The material is flexible.+ I like how the handle is long enough to accommodate the luggage sleeve on my son's backpack. (not all luggages are like that)+ handle goes up and down easily with one hand, a child can even do it.Cons: 2 stars off because of the wheels. I never had this problem with samsonite luggages, but with this model the wheels are a nightmare. They are great wheeling around at home on smooth surfaces ... MorePros:+ Made in Europe.+ good coating. not easy to scratch, we traveled overseas to 3 different countries and not one single scratch.+ Like another reviewer noted, it does dent.. but it's so easily popped back up. They are great wheeling around at home on smooth surfaces but as soon as you hit a low pile carpet (yes even very low pile smooth carpeting), it's impossible to wheel in hotels with one hand! This happens when you pack a full luggage, I have to use two hands or else the luggage flips over as soon as it's on the slightest porous surface. While empty, or very few clothing inside, it's fine, but that is not realistic.

I have to say I am disappointed with this suitcase. The price and reputation of Samsonite led me to believe that this was a high quality product, which it is not. I cannot recommend this to any business traveller. For the past 3 weeks, I have used the suitcase to travel in the USA, Norway, Mexico and Portugal and these are my reflections:- Impossible to roll when fully packed. It works against the natural position of the hand and it twists at speed. I had to turn it 90 degrees and hold the struts.- The wheels are too small and incorrectly designed for use at airports. Small cracks and obstacles stop it completely and must be lifted over. Many airports have walkways for the visually impaired, this leads to damage to the suitcase and it has to be carried across.- ... MoreI have to say I am disappointed with this suitcase. Many airports have walkways for the visually impaired, this leads to damage to the suitcase and it has to be carried across.- The trolley handle looks like it is about to pop off, large cracks between it and the suitcase. In addition, I found it disappointing that this is not able to pack 4 eagle creek packing cubes, the whole reason why I bought this was this purpose. I trusted the dimensions but didn't realize that the inside of the design was so small and full of obstacles.
We have always used Samsonite cases and own three of the original hard case designs (which have survived multiple trips over the years with only the odd scratch ) and are brilliant . As regular long haul flyers we needed an additional , similar case to accommodate our growing family, so we purchased the Proxis spinner. When it arrived it was considerably more flimsy that the previous cases but needed the case for use so kept it.The case has been used twice , once on a long haul flight to NZ and the second on a short haul flight to Greece. On the second flight we collected the case from the carousel to discover that one of the 4 wheels had been pushed into the case ( I'm assuming it had been dropped on the corner) and wouldn't wheel. We have tried pushing the wheel back out back out to no avail. We now have a very expensive flimsy case that doesn't wheel properly. They cases look great and are light but are not durable and I certainly would not trust it to survive intact another flight. I am very disappointed in the case and would definitely NOT recommend. Samsonite - very disappointing!!
The Samsonite Proxis is made from Roxkin (a lightweight material) that is exclusive to Samsonite. This is the next gen up from the material called Curv used in Samsonite Liteshock, CLite range. The suitcase itself has two compartments (both have zippers etc). It packs in plenty and still feels sturdy. A previous review mentioned how the luggage came out the carousal with scratches and it caved it (the scratches are normal- to avoid this you can buy universal 3 rd party covers and as for the material caving in, this happens with impact and can be easily resolved by pushing it back out again). To get the most out of this, I would recommend it is registered directly with Samsonite for free as that covers you with SamsoniteWeCare program. Overall a great buy!
Not particularly happy with this purchase. It does not meet the required size to use as carry on luggage. I bought two of these thinking that we could use this in case our luggage was missing. Now it seems they cannot even be used anyway. It would be nice if luggage was designed to meet the requirements for the consumer, but I guess that is just too much to ask.Be mindful that if you want to personalise this luggage, you have to do so before 45 days is up. Otherwise, they will not personalise it for you. When one spends so much money, it should be personalised. The company seems to not care about their purchasers.
Plenty of space for clothes and shoes for a month long activity holiday. We used packing cubes, which are excellent. There are 2 internal sections with zips. The wheels are very useful and make it very easy to manoeuvre the case, apart from on carpet. The handle clips up and down which again help move the case and load it into a car boot. The only challenge is lifting the case, for example onto the bed, when it is open and full of clothes - it flexes a bit. But otherwise this case is excellent. The blue colour is also very easy to spot on the bag conveyor!
Recently, I've started to do a lot more work trips abroad. Purchased a couple of budget priced cases but they didn't survive first contact with the baggage handlers, so i decided to follow my usual rule of "you get what you pay for". I purchased from the best manufacturer of luggage that i know and I wasn't wrong. The Proxis Spinner I purchased is light and very well made. First outing was two week trip to LA/Chicago then back to the UK and the case had a rough time, especially from Chicago to UK. It was really scratched both sides and had received a blow to the base which had creased the bottom of the case. It didn't look good but the case stood up to the abuse it got, and I'm confident that I'll get a good few years out of it. nice product. very light. Should have straps on both internal sides. also where you can close it. but overall great product with 1 big negative linked to the color choice (mat green). The matgreen looks great but is EXTREMELY sensitive to scratches. I would never buy this color again as my gloss finish suitcases look like new after multiple usage. This one looks terrible and was used once. it was even scratched by laying on the floor when I filled it up the first time. I notified customer care but no follow up in 1 month! very very disappointing experience and not what I am used to get from Samsonite.
