Samsonite Lite-Box Alu 76cm Spinner Aluminium

I am a frequent flyer as I work away in the middle east and live in the UK and am continually back and forth, I make about 20-30 flights a year including each way, so I need a tough no nonsense suitcase that can being load/unloaded, in and out of cars/trucks, thrown about and dropped at airports (seen it happen many times), and that is distinctive.This aluminium case is expensive, but if you travel a lot it is an investment! I love the locking system, better than a zip that can easily break. A winner from Samsonite

An excellent cabin bag with an elegant look and exceptional build quality, so long as you don't mind the weight (approx 5kg). Initial impressions when I received the bag were 'wow'. The bag looks very similar to the Rimowa Cabin bag, however is considerably cheaper. To be fair to Rimowa, a few differences do exist, however for me personally, they didn't justify the difference in price.I was keen on an aluminium case, as they are much stronger and durable compared to any other material. It also gives me a high level of confidence that my content in the bag will be secure from any damage. Easily dented not durable

Flew with it four times internationally and it's wrecked. Huge dents everywhere. It's a really nice case other than that. I considered it because I liked the other brand of metal case, weight wasn't an issue but I didn't want to spend as much money. This case has been a real let down though, dents on every corner, and once dented it looses a lot of strength so next dent in that area is twice as big.

I would not buy again or anything else in this range.

The clips to open the case stopped working after using the case a couple of times. To get the bag open you have to prise the clips open with your fingernails. I guess there must be magnets holding the case closed. When I first bought the case the would flip open but this no longer happens. Sometime it can take a few minutes to get the case open! As it cost over 800 dollars I would think the workmanship would be better.Overall it's a good case but I would not buy the other cases in the range as I imagine I would have the same problem. After a few uses I need to replace this case. Its a real waste of money.

I would not buy this product again

Very disappointed with this product. After its first use it looked like something you would pick up from a trash heap, very badly dented. Samsonite advertise this product as being robust and even show a video of it being dropped and tumbled around. Luggage less than a third of its price do not get damaged like this. Small dents and scratches expected, but not major damage like I received.

Really well thought out product!

This product that very little (if anything) was left to chance. I used it for a weeklong trip away for work, where I need two very different sets of attire and to carry equipment. It fitted everything and even allowed for some souvenirs on the way back. I was really impressed with how well the system to hold the contents in place works and smoothly the case glided through the airport. The wheels are smooth, and the 4 free spinning system allowed for not having to drag it around the airports, a simple push was more than sufficient. The internal system to hold the contents is great as it keeps everything covered by the removable panel and the strap that holds the panel in place is easy to adjust. After both flights, there were a couple of minor scratches.The only thing slightly negative I would say about it is the weight, 5.9kg is quite heavy and with the lower and lower weight allowances that airlines give these days, it can restrict quite a lot the weight of belongings you take on your trip.All in all, I'm really happy with the suitcase.

The case is a very well built , visually attractive quality hard case with added corner protectors .The case has a 3 digit locking system, 4 spinning wheels , a top handle and side handle . There is also a small pull out tab for your contact details.The handle extends longer than any of my other cases which is a great addition.The case opens into two identical sections , with ribbon straps to hold your items in place, a side zipped pocket, and a zipped divider pad, also used as a cover to keep your contents intact.The case has accommodated everything I need for a six day trip. Sturdy Case

So when the suitcase arrived I was really impressed with how sturdy, strong and expensive it looked.I unpacked the item and my initial impression was that the case felt quite heavy on its own without clothes in.So I went about packing the case for a weeks holiday. I think it could take all of the above and still come out looking pristine! I had a handle attached to a case and a case that looked like it was brand new and that's after 2 flights!So the positives... it looks the part... is sturdy... strong and has a good capacity.The negatives... it's expensive and a little on the heavy side to start off with. However when packed with clothes it didn't appear to get much heavier!If your wanting a quality product which is easy to manoeuvre, impressively built and well designed you will not be upset with this case.

Such a pleasure to use on our trip to Japan

We took our Lite-Box Aluminium suitcases to Japan on our six week trip and it was a pleasure wheeling around something as stylish and sturdy. Love the look of the cases, they look so sleek and different to other aluminium cases and all the copies of that famous brand!After six weeks in six different cities riding the Shinkansen all over the country our suitcases were in perfect condition despite the constant packing, rough stowing and alighting in snow & rain.What a terrific design.

This 'Samsonite Lite Box Alu' aluminium 4 wheel spinner case looks visually stunning. It looks like the suitcase equivalent of an Amtrak train!. The quality of manufacture is very evident and it is practical and stylish without being too 'in your face'. The case is finished in an aluminium lustre finish with black handles and wheels. The case is riveted together and the inside features a black material lining with padded removable dividing pads and clothes restraining straps to assist in packing your belongings. The case has a three digit code lock which is TSA approved and has a concealed address tag. It feels very sturdy although with this comes some weight. The four double wheels and retractable double height pull handle makes for minimal effort manoeuvring and quiet handling. It is certainly a very expensive case and I would be very wary of its scratch and damage resistance compared to a cheaper alternative. If this was hand luggage/ cabin baggage I would feel more comfortable keeping it with me rather than leaving it in the hands of the baggage handlers to load in to an aircraft hold or unload it on to a baggage carousel. I used a wrap service to try and protect the exterior . Some light markings have appeared However there would be some comfort in knowing that your expensive holiday clothes are protected as securely possible by this offering from Samsonite.In summary, this a stylish well made suitcase which is high end quality and would more than meet the requirements of both the executive business man and the luxury tourist. Sure to be a classic of the future, this is a pleasing to the eye piece of travel luggage that any potential owner should be confident in, knowing they own a Samsonite product that is sure to attract admiring looks both for its aesthetics and security
