Samsung 32 Inch FHD Smart TV

Tizen has a lot of mainstream apps (Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime), but lacks a lot of apps available on standard Android TV (including F1TV). The DLNA support is very poor and playback is not supported for a lot of older codecs and does not support DTS audio. The mediaserver now has to transcode about 90% of the content for this TV. The issues will likely occur in playing old videos from flash drives as well although I have not confirmed this. The DLNA scrolling is a bit sluggish too and there is no way to page forward, you can only scroll. I bought this TV for the bedroom so sleep function is very important, but this is the most convoluted process I've ever come across. The Options button is now one of the smallest buttons on the remote and then you have to navigate to: Settings -> General -> System Manager -> Time -> Sleep Timer It doesn't make a lot of sense. I wish I could say that the picture quality was excellent to make up for the poorly designed features, but I find it accentuates grainy videos so watching older movies / series isn't great.

Another Great TV

I’ve had this tv for about 3 years now and I love it. I use it primarily as a work monitor and am pleased. The wifi works great, used a few of the apps and I love live channels app. The only reason I won’t give it 5 stars is that every once in a blue it gets ‘dark’. Not blackout dark but super dim. I thought it was the adaptive light feature, which I love btw, but no. I can say it’s happened so rarely it’s not worth making a fuss. The ambient light feature works well, could be better but it does do a pretty good job at adapting as it faces the sun (screen). It does have a few hiccups when it gets dark trying to compensate. Overall I would definitely buy this tv again and recommend it. Mine was open box buy and it was a steal. This little 32”s picture is close to my Samsung 55” plasma, but no cigar. It is very clear and crisp and on par with my life’s good in the other room that’s 10” bigger. This is my 4th Samsung and they all are still kicking from 12 years old down to this one. I couldn’t stand by and let the low star reviews dog my little workhorse!

Bad luck

My sister wanted a small tv for her room. Picked up this tv 2 weeks ago. It was the only good brands they have in 32” in stock. We were able to connect other devices however we had a little issues with our internet recently therefore the tv couldn’t pick up our wi-fi. We’ve tried our phone hotspots, still wouldn’t work! Than we finally got our internet fixed and we were sure the tv would have connected. Still no internet. I was sure it was the tv had wi-fi issues. Returned it back to our local JB’s store. The storeperson tested with her phone to connect the hotspot and for some reason it worked for her. However I had zero confidence about this tv anyway so I was relieved I was able to exchange it to LG 43” which was a much better outcome! - This is the part I am ... MoreMy sister wanted a small tv for her room. Great Looking & Reliable 32”

I've had this tv going on 3 years now. I’m not sure if there’s a difference between this and the 43” but I’m happy w my 32” and had to chime in on the low star reviews. The only reason I deducted a star is the brightness can be quirky. This TV adjust for ambient light and does a good job in general but can overcompensate, especially with getting dark. Not the biggest gripe but can be annoying once in a blue. The IR sensor is in a bad location under the tv, so if it’s sitting flat, nuff said. But I’ve only moving it around to sit outside, no biggie. The picture is great! It’s very clear and crisp. Great picture but system a little difficult to manouver

Picture quality is good and OS seems faster and more stable than cheaper brands. However the remote is a little difficult to use with buttons all very close to each other and similar. Nightmare to use in the dark. Likewise not having a button that gets you out of a streaming service and back to live TV is annoying. Anytime you want to move out you need to either logout of the service completely (and then need to log back in next time - no thanks) or need to press the home/ source button and scroll across to live tv and then hit enter. Even our last cheap Kogan TV had a one touch exit to TV. But the Tv itself is good so far, hopefully it lasts longer than the cheaper ones we've had and justifies the price tag.

I expected more from a Samsung product.

Despite researching for a replacement TV for my **, I find that this product has some catches and that I needed to carefully read the fine print before purchasing. This is not an acceptable way to portray the product to Australian customers. I agree with the other reviews that the remote should be the latest one as per the one I have at home, and is shown in this web page with the disclaimer, *Actual remote control may differ from image shown. This is not acceptable behaviour IF you expect consumers to ever trust your brand name again. I will always expect some form of fine print in the future, but I will probably buy something else to avoid any issues. No Airplay in Australia huh ? Are you kidding ? That is ridiculous. It looks quite lame in terms of tech and or legal disagreements in the background that affect the customer, but is again an expectation of the product that has not been met and yes, the disclaimer gets you across the line, but will I buy anything Samsung again ? How much would 4 x M4 screws cost ? You could consider adding them to the package so that people who expect to use a VESA mount, aren't scrambling to a hardware store late at night to purchase them for $6. That's the small stuff that could make you top shelf or not. Forget the previous issues, the worst is the sound. It's like an old transistor radio. The bass response is terrible. It is clearly designed for the sound to bounce up against a wall and for this TV to not be on a VESA mounted arm. This issue with sound was not the case with my old ** that recently died after a solid 8 years of service on the same VESA mounted arm. The picture is good.

Nice Picture, But..........

I bought this TV from JB Tuggerah store (N5200, previous version). After owning this TV for numerous years now, I've grown to actually hate it. The only good thing about this TV is the picture. Everything else.........nope. Tizen OS is the most horrible OS I've ever experienced. It is seriously laggy and takes a few seconds to recognise that you've actually pressed a button on the TV remote. The TV remote is also another issue with this TV, as it always loses function to the Down Button and OK Button, where I am always removing the batteries, pressing the Power Button for like 8 seconds (Samsung recommends this) to reset the control. Then you try and use it........makes no difference. So yes....... that's another thing I hate with this TV. Rendered my external hard drive unusable

I was reasonably happy with the TV, resolution and all. I connected my external hard drive to play some video files, which worked well. However, once I removed the drive, my laptop and my pc could not get access to it anymore. 'Drive cannot not be read, Access denied'. It's a few years old but had worked no trouble until using it with this tv. I tested with with a different usb drive. Turns out, this tv places 2 'log files' onto removable drives once they are connected. For most drives that's fine, but for some drives it stops them from connecting to any other device from then on. This tv does not have a 'safely remove drive' function, which would prevent such a problem. Samsung customer support told me this was not their problem. Thought it would be better for the price you pay

I opted for this Samsung based on the fact we've notoriously had issues with Sony smart TVs. I needed a small smart TV for my rental property, and everyone is always talking about how great Samsung TVs are. Honestly, I thought it would be better..... The interface and operating system is a little laggy, the sounds isn't great, and on occasion the picture is really dark (yes we've tried to change the picture settings consistently). The other issue is trying to mount the TV, the instructions are a little vague, and it doesn't actually provide you with the four screws you need (M4s 26-28mm). Yes, it still has Freeview!

I've been looking at TVs for a while and this one sounded great, but could find no mention of Freeview. After reading many (very positive) reviews I did finally find one where they said it does indeed come with Freeview via and aerial, so I bought it straight away. As is the current trend with TV stands, the feet are wide apart, so a problem for me as it would be sitting on top my HiFi stand, but no problem as there are plenty of after market solutions, albeit annoying to have to spend out more money. Back to the TV. I have a Samsung account and it uses this (if you have one) to set everything up via you phone, but this can be done manually. I previously had a 32" Panasonic which was 11 years old but had a horrible buzz on bright pictures, but this TV is completely quiet, result! Overall I'm very happy. The bezel in reality is a little wider than all the promotional photos but not a problem. It comes with all the apps you might want and extra channels too so you're spoilt for choice. My first Samsung TV after many years as a Sony fanboy.
