Excellent hardware but absolutely terrible software. If you plan to video chat with your yoga instructor or a vet, then the hardware is useful, but if you expect to be able to connect to Zoom call or Google meets, you will be very disappointment. What they don't tell you is their browser has nearly no ability to access the camera or mic. The predecessor to this model used to come with Google Duo, but apparently a fallout between Samsung and Google nixed that. Your only option for video chat is their proprietary ConnecTime app which has no web ability to connect on a PC/Mac and on cellphones, you are required to create a Samsung account. There is also a software issue with type-c connection, it doesn't always pick up the c-type connection. Don't buy this product, go for something more solid metal frame bezel and one full piece bezel. I bought this during covid direct from Samsung it came with this fault. I didn't send it back at the time as monitors were scarce and held on to it as it comes with 2 year warranty. My intention was to get monitor size upgrade.I see a lot of potentials to improve this product even better. Lack of regular HDMI and limit USB-C ports. Lack of memory space if install more Apps. It would be nice for Apps to expand more apps such as HP Smart because it's not listed. The Samsung 32" M80 Smart Monitor is a little bit of work and a little bit of fun all in one.The monitor was easy to unpack and put together. Once together and set on my desk I started the setup process. Samsung makes things very simple and straightforward as far as setup goes. I enjoyed this as it has so many features getting the settings right is key. The remote is really simple to use and I like that it has a solar charger built in.After my older 27" monitor broke I was excited to upgrade to the Samsung 32" Smart Monitor. I was at first excited about the size but didn't realize how much more productive I could be with the ability to have 2 browsers or other apps side by side! I love the resolution too, it allows me to get a lot more viewable areas to work ... MoreThe Samsung 32" M80 Smart Monitor is a little bit of work and a little bit of fun all in one.The monitor was easy to unpack and put together. Once together and set on my desk I started the setup process. Samsung makes things very simple and straightforward as far as setup goes. I enjoyed this as it has so many features getting the settings right is key. The remote is really simple to use and I like that it has a solar charger built in.After my older 27" monitor broke I was excited to upgrade to the Samsung 32" Smart Monitor. I was at first excited about the size but didn't realize how much more productive I could be with the ability to have 2 browsers or other apps side by side! I love the resolution too, it allows me to get a lot more viewable areas to work with. The camera it comes with is a great addition and helps when doing video meetings. The magnetic camera cover is a nice added touch for a little more security.Once I'm done with my work day I just grab the remote and can watch TV shows and movies. I have a Samsung TV and I really do enjoy the Samsung TV Plus that the Smart Monitor has. It's got everything I need to watch some shows and chill. I hooked up to Netflix and Amazon Prime Video so using these services could be done on the Samsung monitor and share my accounts. It was great to pick up watching where I left off right at my desktop.I was given this monitor for review and have to say that overall Samsung has hit it out of the part with this monitor combining work and entertainment in one sleek and great-looking package. If you're looking for the ultimate multipurpose product that can work with you and also entertain you, this is it.
I have recently bought a Samsung smart monitor S43BM70 to replace my standard 32-inch monitor. At the time of buying, my decision was mostly based on the large screen size which I hope would help with my poor eye sight. Following are my review and feedback after having used this monitor for a couple of months.• Getting started, this monitor does not work well with the Samsung provided 1M USB-C cable. It is way too short for your laptop unless you want your face to be really close to the screen (note that 1/3 of the cable length was running hidden behind the monitor). My best effort on this was getting visuals to work over the 4K Ultra-HD USB-C cable or the USB-C Thunderbolt cable. I got no sound still. The incentive of using USB-C interface is to charge my laptop while it is in use without extra power source. But I had to give up using USB-C to connect it to my laptop in the end.• In terms of interfaces and connectivity, HDMI is more predictable if this monitor is connected to the laptop as external display. Initially I could only get visuals to work using HDMI. In order to get both visuals and audio to work, I had to run Windows troubleshooting and ended up reinstalling display drivers a number of times. The connectivity appeared to be more stable after that but no where near error free. I am still experiencing the following issues:(1) Intermittent screen shutdown (completely gone black) and restart (screen refresh) while in use. While this does not require any manual intervention, this is really annoying.(2) Audio delay from 3-5 secs when playing mp3 from Windows Media Player and any applications generating sound. As an example this problem is always experienced from playing youtube, from the time when any video is played, you would not get any audio sound until approximately 3 seconds later. I have upgraded the monitor firmware to a fairly recent version and followed Samsung recommendations with reset sound and tried different sound mode but have been unable to fix this problem.(3) From time to time I got screen flickering and flashing running across the monitor screen. To get rid off this symptom, I normally had to power off and on the monitor. Again this is very annoying.• While the size of this monitor is a plus if I need to show the screen to a couple of people, the feedback I got from people around me is that the image and text clarity is not great and image quality degrade at angle, audio sound is quite poor. I have now switched back to my old 32-inch standard monitor and I absolutely agree with the above feedback myself.• This monitor has very limited ergonomics, users can not adjust height or fine adjust its tilting or leveling. Remote control is a bit tricky to use.• Regarding other smart monitor features, it is a decent monitor overall for most uses.• Unfortunately for my simple uses, I will have to return this product.

I also wanted to take advantage of the preorder deals. I considered the new G8, but didn't want to have to worry about burn in while working.After going through the initial setup, I was able to plug in my laptop to the monitor through the USB C port. It connects as well as powers the laptop, which is convenient. It reduces on cables and I can just leave the laptop charging brick in my laptop bag. I have an older Lenovo ThinkPad so I was worried there could be some compatibility or connection issues, but it just worked.As far as the monitor, it's great for programming and ... I can have two windows open side by side or expand some windows to full screen if needed. This is coming from working off the laptop monitor which while fine, you can really take advantage of the extra realestate.I also wanted to try the gaming hub and it works fairly well. I was able to pair my switch pro controller and tried Luna and GeForce Now. I won't get into the details with each service, but I was able to play games without too much hassle. There were some compatibility issues on some games with my controller, but that is more an issue with the pro controller.Complaints: You can't point the webcam down so it can capture a lot of space above your head. SamsungTV Plus auto starts which is annoying.
