I have 6 tv's in my house, they are all Samsung tv's. I have had issues with this 85 inch class QLED. I purchased the Q70A originally, unfortunately the screen arrived shattered. When I spoke to customer service at that point, they were out of stock of the tv that I had original purchased which was the Q70A. I decided to go with the newer version the Q80A and pay in extra $600.My overall experience has been less than satisfactory. This is literally one of the best TVs I've ever owned. The picture is so sharp and clear that it's such a pleasure to watch my favorite shows. The TV was easy to set up. I love the base on this TV because it's very heavy-duty flat metal instead of little plastic legs. Once you put the base on, you can set the TV up where you want it and it's very sturdy. I was able to easily set up an account with Samsung and then get all my previous apps that I have and use. The setup really was super simple, one of the easiest I've had when setting up a TV. Due to having a very small, non-expandable amount of onboard storage, you have to be selective about which apps you have on it. Some streaming apps lock up frequently and require clearing the memory and cache to get them running again. The TV also has a PVR built-in and visible as an option, but it's disabled in the United States for some inexplicable reason. There is no picture-in-picture option. The remote control buttons are very sensitive and will cause you to accidentally activate the ambient picture mode or a streaming service at least once a week. I was absolutely stunned with how spectacular the Samsung 50 inch QN50Q80DAFXZA is. The visuals are some of the most crisp, clean and clear visuals I've personally ever seen on a TV.The main user interface is also.lightning fast. App uploads were a breeze and I truly liked how quickly I was able to navigate around the Smart Things App.Gaming on this television is also awesome, and it was like a whole new experience even on my older titles. I really loved that most of all.Another cool feature was the self charging remote. It has a solar cell on the back of it to charge it when not in use.Personally I'd buy this one again and recommend it to everyone I know.I do however wish it came with mounting for the wall. Two days ago we turned the TV on after coming home from work to find the TV with vertical as well as horizontal mixed color lines(on the TV's left side as well as the bottom). We called Samsung in an attempt to claim warranty and possibly have a technician sent out.While speaking with their customer service my wife went back and forth sending pictures of the lines looking for help and all we we're told was that we caused physical damage to the television and that nothing could be done. They said we would have to pay the bill to have their techs come out (from out of area) and we were told the estimate cost would be $865.00 - $900.00 on a TV that cost a little over $1700.00. If I'm going to spend that kind of money I might as well buy a brand new TV while I'm at it. This basically means any Samsung product we have bought under warranty would have no coverage in our area in that case which is extremely bad business in my opinion.I'm highly disappointed with the customer service/quality that Samsung has delivered with their TV's. I really thought they might make it right and at bare minimum send a tech to at least look at the TV but asking us to pay the amount of money stated above while a TV is still under warranty is unacceptable.
I’ve had this TV for over 5 months now and it has a great brightness and picture quality. My living room is a decent sized and has 6 large windows. I purchased a UHD TV previous to this and I couldn’t even watch a movie with the brightness turn up to max. So I upgraded to QLED 85 in and I couldn’t be happier! I thought about upgrading to one tier higher than QLED but my wife wouldn’t let me. Anyways, if you have a bright living room QLED is the way to go! Samsung’s warranty service is great as well! Had to claim one on my previous 75inch TV and everything went smoothly and really painless! I was really impressed! I’ll be buying Samsung products for many years to come and I recommend my friends and family to buy them as well!
I'm in awe of the picture quality this TV provides. The colors are so bright and vivid. The picture is clear, and crisp and truly gives a unique experience. It almost feels real with the way the pictures move and how you can see all of the little details down to fine lines. I love how the brightness adjusts automatically to give the best picture quality even in the daytime. The solar remote lasts forever as far as power goes and connection to smart things via my Samsung phone was seamless. There are SO many different apps and options that I haven't even gone through half yet. I am utterly amazed at how well this TV is set up. I hope to be able to get a larger version soon.

Granted normally you wouldn't need this device, because this Samsung TV has Alexa built into it. However, I use Alexa Studio as my surround sound because I prefer true surrou d sound over the sound that comes from the television. Sadly, the units wouldn't quite stay connected. This is not necessarily a deal breaker by any means. It just needed to be noted.The next small hiccup was that I found the user window to sometimes glitch up and freeze if I was trying to scroll or browse too quickly on the remote.Other than that though, my final thoughts are that this TV won't dissapoint. The clarity is unlike anything I've personally ever seen or owned before so I am incredibly happy.Is it perfect? No. But is it pretty darn close? Absolutely! I don't imagine anyone who was contemplating purchasing this unit would be dissapointed, nor would they regret their purchase.
