I've had this for a couple of months and the display is beautiful. Art mode is very nice and the slim display with external controls is great. The software however is quite quirky and does not work as well as it should for such an expensive unit. The integration with Apple products is terrible and although you can attempt to Airplay from Apple devices, it just tends to crash. I have tried everything to get this to work from multiple devices and it wont even play music. The audio output is also inconsistent and sometimes works using the optical out and other times it does not. When displaying a slideshow of your own art or photos when set to slidehow it doesn't always default to slideshow when it goes to screensaver. I have found that you have to manually select ... MoreI've had this for a couple of months and the display is beautiful. Art mode is very nice and the slim display with external controls is great. I have always purchased high end Samsung TV's, but no more. After a fiasco with delivery and horrible customer service, I finally received my Frame TV and have had it for 3 weeks. 24 hours in from hook up, it goes out, a call to Samsung has to go in for them to remotely go into my TV and reboot the One box. Three days later, same thing. After many calls, time wasted, and a new TV not working, I was told they would put in a ticket for a ticket essentially for a Technician booking, but was warned with holidays, it would be into January. In January they called me and left a message to follow up asking me to take a picture of the blue screen to send it to them. The blue screen that I told them about on 5-6 prior phone calls. A blue screen. They actually needed a visual. ... MoreI have always purchased high end Samsung TV's, but no more. A blue screen. They actually needed a visual. Spoke to Tech Support, blue screen pic sent, and I was told it's a Rogers box issue not a Samsung problem. Since a firestick usually works in the One Box, it can't be the One Box. Issue with resolution settings they say. Call Rogers, advised how to change resolution (so now the expensive tv with high resolution was pointless), 24 hours later, TV goes out again. Spoke to very rude Technician (certainly not the first) who told me he's seen this many times before, it's a Rogers problem since it's fixed with a reboot. He basically told me I'm out of luck and hung up before saying goodbye, not before he re-booted from his end. This time though, his re-boot didn't work, now my Firestick isn't working, and my own re-booting also doesn't work. Here I am with a new, expensive, useless TV. Now what?!

This is a good TV but doesn't stand out as being anything extraordinary. I thought the picture would be outstanding but quite frankly, I don't see it as being any better than the 15 year-old Sharp Aquos that it replaced. My biggest beef with this new Samsung is it doesn't recognize our TV provider and it just shows up on the apps as "HDMI 1" and we have to use the old remote to control the TV when we're watching regular channels. Bell Fibe TV is one of the most popular TV Providers and it's a major shortfall not to even recognize it.Another beef is that not enough pictures are provided for the frame art. We get a few basic samples and then you want to nickel and dime us for more. Come on folks, with what we paid for this, you can't give us more ... MoreThis is a good TV but doesn't stand out as being anything extraordinary. Did you not test this with actual users? While I've clicked the "Yes" button below to recommend to a friend, it would just be along with some others. I rate it as good, but just average good. A great screen is ruined by the most unstable, frustrating software experience I have used in recent years. Even the most basic functionality stops working (which as connecting an external HDMI) at random intervals. It has forced commercials in the UI, and forced, promoted elements what I never use but daily open by mistake. The instability has made me start using an Apple TV with the device, which offers a much superior experience - when the Samsung TV wants to display the HDMI-input that is.The most infuriating part, however, is that the ART mode itself is a paid service! 55$ a year to show stock photos!! What robbery and nonsense. We are several months into owning a 55 inch 2022 version of the Frame TV. The product is installed in our Kitchen and is used for a few hours daily.DIY installation was relatively easy but does require a high level of competence if one wishes to have the TV look like a true picture frame. People who are not very hands-on and are looking for a true "frame" like installation should factor in the additional cost of installation by a professional contractor. Potential customers are strongly advised to check their wall surface for trueness (flatness) before purchasing this TV. In our case, the wall where I intended mounting the TV was poorly constructed and had to be trued up before installation. In our case, the wall where I intended mounting the TV was poorly constructed and had to be trued up before installation. The installation kit itself is well made and is flexible enough for ease of installation. In use, the picture quality is excellent and the viewing angle while not best in class is good enough for our use case. We use the TV for streaming via an Amazon Firestick and also for Apple TV and Youtube subscriptions via the web. Our Wi-Fi signal strength and bandwidth is good and we have not encountered any issues whatsoever with streaming. We have a subscription to Samsung's art service and change the screen art roughly every two months. The subscription is expensive and I am planning to opt out of this service eventually. At this stage, we haven't purchased a frame surround but it appears relatively easy to build a frame with millwork available from out local big-box hardware store. Again, some DIY woodworking skills will go a long way here. Some minor niggles... The TV turns itself on in the middle of the night. I haven't had the time to troubleshoot this but I'm fairly certain that this is not because of the remote control. We now turn the volume off at night as the TV tunes in to the Samsung channel. This appears to happen every night and it is an irritation to come downstairs every morning to TV that has turned itself on. The Apple airplay feature is also not great - the TV goes into a split screen mode and is not easy to switch to full screen mode. I suppose Samsung is not motivated to make the Apple interface work as well as it could - this is something to keep in mind.Sound quality is adequate for casual News and Youtube viewing but not good enough for Movies. Average surround sound processors and loudspeakers or a good sound bar will improve on the "meh" sound quality. Our overall experience with the Frame TV has been very positive and I do recommend this product highly.
The Physical design of the TV, the mount, the art mode etc are great (hence the second star).But;- the user interface, menu etc are just horrible (not intuitive, badly laid out and horrible descriptions)- the colour settings out of the box are a disaster (overly bright, washed out, loud and excessive contrast). After paying so much, you have to spend hours to research online and then navigate the incredibly badly laid out settings menu to correct each setting to get some decent/realistic colour output.- the sound options are even worse as the the frame does not play well with the #1 audio platform out there now - Sonos (even through HDMI eARC)- people have complained about all these issues for so long, but still no software fix (especially for the menu and ... MoreThe Physical design of the TV, the mount, the art mode etc are great (hence the second star).But;- the user interface, menu etc are just horrible (not intuitive, badly laid out and horrible descriptions)- the colour settings out of the box are a disaster (overly bright, washed out, loud and excessive contrast). Looks like they just don't care.
Went 3 out of 5 starts on this one. I bought a 55" Samsung Frame TV. It's very pretty and the picture on the TV when being used to look like a piece of art is fantastic!....but we don't use it to display art nearly as much as we thought we would, if ever. We have had it for about a month now. 99% of the time when anyone is home it is used to watch something on TV like Netflix or Amazon Prime. I love the fact that it came with it's own mount and when it is mounted it is super close to the wall. Much nicer than a bulky wall mount that you can see, plus it came withvtge TV. All the auxiliary connections are seperate from the TV and are in a box about 14 inches wide, 6 inches deep and 4 inches tall. All the auxiliary connections are seperate from the TV and are in a box about 14 inches wide, 6 inches deep and 4 inches tall. Evertyrhing connects to the box including the power and there is just 1 small wire that connects the auxiliary box to the TV to supply it all. It would be super convenient if I ever need to connect or disconnect something because it's all taken away from the back of the TV, but let's be honest, how offten do we go to the back of the TV? I just plug in something once like a video game console, computer or what ever and never go back there again. Also, if you wanted to have zero wires going to the TV, you would need to build a box in the wall with an electrical outlet to hold the auxiliary box as that is how you supply power to the TV.The picture quality when showing art is great as well as when watching TV. The flat mat finish on the screen makes everything look great and is really enjoyable to watch! The smart TV technology is just ok. It has all the bells and whistles as most TVs on the market but I still can't figure out how to install some 3rd party apps. Most of if not all the time we run the TV off an Amazon firestick to have access to some of the apps we had on the precious TV.I have almost have Samsung for everything and love all of it but at the end of the day I pretty much paid an exra $1000 buck for a TV to be able to clip a piece of plastic on the edge to make it look like a picture frame(which I also had to buy) and we don't use it to show art. I don't think it was worth it.
We bought this TV in November of 2021 as a splurge for ourselves. We had our last TV for 8 years and it was still going strong, but we were moving into a different space where the TV would be quite central so we decided the cost was worth it for the form and function. In December 2022 we got a Nintendo Switch for our kids for Christmas. Soon after we started having problems. AirPlay does not work at all, nothing will connect to it and it glitches like crazy. Ambient modes don’t work and glitch when we try. The keyboard will not pop up on the screen so we are not able to search for things on apps unless the app has its own keyboard (Netflix doesn’t work, Amazon Prime does, etc.). Ambient modes don’t work and glitch when we try. The keyboard will not pop up on the screen so we are not able to search for things on apps unless the app has its own keyboard (Netflix doesn’t work, Amazon Prime does, etc.). We tried to warranty the TV with Samsung. They connected to it and tried to diagnose the issue, but couldn’t and since it was just past the 1 year mark, they said it wasn’t their problem and we would have to pay for repair. We took it to a TV repair man in our city and he had never seen an issue like this. His only idea was to replace the main board in the screen. $500+ later, the TV was working. A couple days later, we played the Nintendo Switch and the next day the TV had all the same problems again. We are now out $500 and still have an almost new broken TV. We decided to try to warranty through our Credit Card as it extends the warranty by a year but they are saying they won’t replace it because our repair man mentioned the Nintendo Switch in his diagnostic report, therefore it’s apparently not the covered. It makes no sense that plugging in a game console would wreck the insides of a “good quality” TV. We don’t know if that was what did it, but either way this TV is GARBAGE and we are stuck with it. No matter how much I love the idea and look of this TV, I don’t see how I can recommend this TV or company to anyone as we are so disappointed in the product and more so, in the unwillingness of Samsung to make this right.
The Frame TV doesn't come with enough internal memory to properly handle apps like Netflix. Samsung installs its mandatory apps which leave little memory for common apps like Netflix and Spotify to work effectively. Hence its often running out of cache memory causing Netflix to black-screen when opening. To fix, must go to settings -> Device Care to flush memory just to free-up enough ram to run Netflix. Turning TV off/on doesn't remedy the situation (unless holding power button longer than 20-seconds to force a reset of the TV). I only have Netflix and Spotify installed, along with the other mandatory Samsung apps. Also, if using HDMI-eARC connection to a soundbar (in my case, a Samsung soundbar), it often loses sound. Bought this TV as I loved the concept of the Frame TV. the picture itself is great, resolution and all that perfect. However, the software and other supporting features are terrible. Art mode sensor for adjusting the brightness commonly defaults to almost completely black - despite it being bring in the room making it nearly impossible to see anything on the TV. this is not able to be reset on the TV and requires smart things app to resent. Remote is burtal, have had TV for around a year and remote is unusable. Smarthings app is crazy glitchy when you try to add your own art - basically unusable when adding your own art. TV turns on randomly as well by itself and start playing the random TV channels that come with it. Dissapointed that there are so many tech issues ... MoreBought this TV as I loved the concept of the Frame TV. the picture itself is great, resolution and all that perfect.
