I got it today, first only the BIOS seen it, the Windows 10 didn't. I tried to find a solution, installed the Samsung software too, but it was no help. The complicated instructions were useless. Then I found a Youtube video about how to format a new SSD in Windows 10, I followed the instructions, the formatting program seen the M2 drive, formatted it (it took like 5 second), and then the Windows 10 recognized it and it works since. The drive's Benchmark numbers are really impressive. Superfast.

Pros: Very easy to fit once I got the back panel off my laptop. Very fast and I am am definitely very happy with my purchase. It’s too soon to comment on long-term reliability but it comes with a good guarantee and I trust the product. The service from Box was great too.Cons: Slightly pricey for what it is. Initially my laptop didn’t recognise the drive but I found the solution online and it was soon rectified.

Outstanding
25 March 2019

Put this into an old laptop (Asus Zenbook X31A). Required an adapter also purchased from Newegg (ZTC Thunder Board NGFF M.2 M or B Key SSD to 18Pin). What a difference in speed for this laptop. Boot from cold start to login screen about 5 seconds. Seems like it utilizes more power (can that be?) as the battery life seems a little worse, but totally worth it. Completely revitalized this old laptop.

Perfect

Everything is incredibly fast and responsive. I don't really do anything that require NVMe speeds, so this drive has been perfect for me. I bought it a year ago, and have only written about 12TB of data. That's only 1/50th of this drive's endurance rating. Nice. I know this is kinda unrelated, but back when I bought it, it came with a free copy of Far Cry 5. It was an awesome game. :-)

Good Points: It might be more expensive than other products, but it performs better and has been totally reliable. The previous upgrade I purchased was from a different company and failed after 3 weeks.Reliability is more important than price saving.A set of "health check" tools are supplied with the drive which are good for keeping an eye on the drive.Improvement Points: A lower price would be nice, but I am mindful of the old expression "You get what you pay for"!

Samsun all the way!

I've been a loyal fan of Samsung's SSD range over the years and continue to be impressed. I purchased the 860 EVO M.2 as the operating system drive for my new PC build and am extremely happy with it. Very consistent and satisfying performance. Yes NVMe is an option but price point at the time of purchase was an influence. My games run on NVMe drives however I will switch down the track.

Samsung 860 EVO SSD

The Samsung 860 EVO came in a new unopened packaging. Installation in my Dell laptop was easy. Copying and setting the SSD drive as the C drive was tricky. I tried AESEUS (free), and Samsung Data Management and neither worked. I have Aomei backerupper, paid version, found that will clone drives, and that worked to copy C from HDD to SSD. Just so you know. I made the mistake of naming the SSD drive when I initialized it, calling it SSD. That name moved with the drive letter and now I have an HDD D drive named SSD. Oh well.

install in a Dell 15-5770 was pretty easy. Hardest part was taking laptop apart. You have to take the entire back off/after the 11 or 12 screws. If you have a cd player, that has to also come out. (first) Other than that, part snapped in and screw was provided which holds drive in place. Used Dell software to clone and magician to optimize. Also added 8GB ram. Both worked after setup. At first drive wasn't online- had to go to device manager and turn to online. Wife is very happy with speed of drive. I left the old drive in as storage.
