i have had the dryer less than a year. since about a month after purchasing the dryer, it stopped shutting off. the drum will continue to turn even after the timer is done. in the last 2 weeks i have had to replace the heating element, thermostat, and thermal fuse 3 times. yesterday when i replaced the parts, it didn't even last one load before it stopped heating and burned up the parts up. i had the dryer vent and all lent cleaned out of the machine approximately 4 months ago when the dryer had to be fixed to make sure it was not a blockage problem. complete trash. save your money and don't buy this dryer.

Huge Drum and Easy Controls

Easy to use controls, lint filter flips open to easily clean. Used Normal dry but the towels had slight dampness. I'll adjust next time as I figure it out. There is no interior light on the huge drum but that is fine. It plays a little melody at the cycle end to remind you to remove the clothes before they wrinkle. The tune can be turned off if one wishes. It runs fairly quietly, you can tell that it's on but nothing loud. It was in stock to match the washer we needed asap. We are pleased with the purchase. It is nice looking and modern controls. It also has a door hinge that can be changed to open in the direction you require.

This dryer was purchased to match the new Samsung washer we needed to replace. It might look similar to the old school one we had, but this dryer is a big upgrade over the last generation (8 years old) and basic dryer we replaced. One of the first things I prefer in this dryer is the placement of the lint screen in the front of the drum rather than the top of the unit. Might seem like a small thing, but it just makes everything a little neater and simpler. The other really nice thing about this dryer is that it is much more spacious than our old one, despite being slightly narrower, which improved the spacing in our laundry area. This dryer doesn't have any smart/network features, but the selection of settings allow a wide range of use. The fact that the alert tone is a kind of midi music-song is a nice change from the obnoxious buzzer we used to have.So far since we have had this dryer is has performed well, runs quietly (for a dryer) has been a great upgrade over our old unit.

Just ok dryer
7 March 2023

It gets hot and it dries the cloths but not fully. Since the washer in this pair does not do an good job in the spin cycle, the cloths don't dry fully. I usually have to put them in for a second cycle. Also, if the sensor actually sensed that the cloths were not dry I wouldn't have to do that. Another drawback is that there is no light on the inside and that wouldn't be bad if the inside wasn't painted black. I've left numerous things in the dryer because I can't see them. I have to keep a flashlight handy so I can check the dryer after every load. And the lint drawer traps some, but after every load there is a lot of lint under the pull out screen and that means pulling out the vacuum after every wash. I would not recommend this dryer to anyone.

Lint Trap & Chimes
14 August 2022

2 issues I have with this dryer, one an annoyance and one I consider pretty major. First the annoyance. You cannot turn off the end of cycle chimes, and they are loud & long. The issue I think is major is that the lint trap is not effective. It does catch some lint. But I am amazed at how much gets through. This is even though I clean the lint trap at the end of every cycle. I have never seen a dryer that allows so much let to get through. It needs to be vacuumed at least every 2 weeks. If not, I can see there being major clogs in the vent and a fire hazard. This is the main reason I would avoid this dryer.

Looks beautiful but runs LONG and leaks
5 January 2023

Bought this brand new, and now am wondering if I got a returned item...the dang machine has been leaking from the bottom, under the machine since I got it. The delivery and installation guy didn't want to hook it up because the connections were old. We hooked it up ourselves and even hauled the old machine out ourselves.....ran a cycle of laundry and it seemed ok. I'm really not crazy about this new washer, as the wash cycles take too long. and it has been leaking nonstop since it's hooked up....it's NOT our pipes. Our old washer was a Kenmore and it ran great for 20+ years with no leaks. This mee Samsung is a dud. I want a replacement.

Nightmare
21 October 2022

We owned the dryer for 5 days before it wouldnt work. The repair person said it was my circuit breaker although the old dryer worked just fine. We paid for an electrician to come out and replace breaker. Put back in old dryer. repair guy came out again and insisted it was our breaker. He put in a power "checker". Outlet and breaker broke. Had to have an electrician come out again. Electrician just repaired outlet and breaker. Old dryer works, new one still does not. Dont get a samsung in Charlotte, NC. Interesting sales tactic Lowe's, sell you something that breaks in 5 days and you only offer a 48 hours return policy unless you buy it with their store credit card! Yikes!

Not drying towels fully. Music is annoying
26 November 2022

So I just had this installed today and ran my first load through the dryer. It ended after ~ 30 minutes and a couple of my towels are still slightly damp. I tried to run it again, but it keeps ending early within a few minutes. The sensor on it is just bad at detecting if the clothes and towels are still wet.Another downside is that there is this ~20 second song that plays at the end. I hate it and I can't simply stop it. There's apparently no way to turn off this end of cycle sound either, which I find extremely stupid. Also, there's no light inside, which is weird considering it's a 7.2 cu ft dryer, it's extremely dark in there. No idea if I can return this dryer.Avoid this one.

Not perfect in design, leading to drying issues

Not the worst dryer, but far from not being frustrating. This is my first washer or dryer purchase and I am used to the less complicated ones. This one has a hard time with bedsheets--I had seen that in other reviews and it is true--it tangles up your bedsheets and ALL the other items get trapped in the sheets and DON'T dry.Never had that issue in an dryer before. Whether it was my parents', a laundromat or the old dryer at the dorm. It's unfortunate that I had to tie the sheets onto themselves just to avoid the problem, causing extra work. Even if you set for 30 minutes, if an item only needs 10, it will know and will stop. Items will be fairly dry. It just has trouble with the bedsheets are in.Overall, it's not bad, but has some extra energy-costing deaign flaws and is frustrating.

Worst dryer ever.
3 April 2023

Trouble from day one. This is the slowest dryer I have ever used. It rolls the laundry into a ball. Last month we started getting errors. We followed the Samsung online fix steps and shut down, restarted, used a voodoo doll, etc. Problem became more frequent until the most DISTURBING and probably hazardous event occured. The dryer will NOT shut off. Even when the dash is off, it continues turning. I have video. The OFF command doesn't work. Even when it does, it doesnt as the unit conties to operate. I made a warranty clain since Lowes sent me an email stating the warranty expires mid April 22, 1 year after delivery.
