I have been a loyal consumer of Samsung Galaxy phones since the 9. They have been reliable with little issue, that is until now. It's as if galaxy quality took a nose dive. I upgraded from an A52 as there are features of the Galaxy S line that I enjoyed and missed using. I skipped the S20, the S21 and the S22 cuz of reviews of poor performance. Should have listened to the reviews of the S23 complaining about connection issues with wifi. Ordered directly from Samsung with a trade-in discount and of course the phone doesn't show its true colors until after I've sent in my old phone for the trade-in. Good on sale price, not so much at full price

Knowing how well the A03s works for my wife, I figured this was probably a good deal.I've had this phone for about a week now and it has CHANGED MY LIFE!Well, maybe not my whole life, but my PHONE life. It pairs fast with my cheap JLAB earbuds (another WM BF deal). It pairs fast with my Arsvita Bluetooth cassette adapter in my 30 year old car. It charges fast with the $4 ONN USB A to USB C cable that I bought with it. It HOLDS a charge for a LONG time. There's a 5000mAh battery in there which is 66% more than my G6 had. If I plugged in my G6 and it randomly shut off overnight and didn't charge, my day would be ruined and I'd be sneaking out to try and get a few percent added in my car every hour or so. I don't have to charge this phone every night. If I forget to plug in before bed (because I do dumb things), it doesn't ruin the next day for me. I could forget to plug it in a couple nights in a row (because I did already, because -again- I'm dumb) and it still worked all day just fine.There are a few things to get used to going back to a Samsung phone, but it didn't take long to remember some of the old tricks (used to have a Galaxy S2 way back when). I also used the Samsung SmartSwitch app to move everything over to the new phone, and that worked quite well which surprised me. It even remembered most of my settings in various apps. I still had to create new playlists in BlackPlayer EX and turn off automatic video playback in Facebook, but everything else was a smooth transition.The screen is bright and easy to read, there's a lot of different settings to adjust font size, wallpapers, and sounds, and it starts up quickly if I turn it off for a concert, movie, or just to be left alone. For $79 I cannot find a better deal. For $149 regular price, I would just step down to the A03s (normally $50-60 but currently $34.88) and do without some of the glamour (the A03s still has the same screen size and battery life, just 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage, this phone has 4GB and 64GB).If you're shopping in the $50-$100 range, this is the model to get.

Great first phone for an elderly friend.

This was purchased as a first cell phone for a not tech savvy person. His desire was to make and receive calls, use voice activated text messaging, and take photos. This fit the bill plus has so many more options he will never use. The price point was well below his budget. I was able to set it up with minimal effort. The SIM card was already installed in the phone ( I didn’t realize that at first) and the 1 year of service, messages and texts automatically activated when I set up the phone- no separate card was in the box. It also came with a wall charger which I wasn’t expecting. This was well worth the price (under $100); the 1 year of service plan from Tracfone is actually more than what was paid for the plan plus the phone and several accessories! It's an extremely mixed bag but one that I like and use everyday

In spite of the fact that this phone usually generates ridiculously awful reviews, I'm here to say that as far as budget phones go this isn't so bad. It runs oneUI 4.1 fast enough in the budget range to deserve a medal I mean seriously they're loading up MONSTEROUS phones with the same exact OS so it's nice to have, but I would argue why not just run stock Android on something this slow? It would actually be smooth. The device is pretty smooth but it lags a lot. It's still definitely usable and doesn't lag in most scenarios like watching YouTube or writing this very review but it has a mediocre at best speech-to-text processor. The camera quality is above everything else I've seen for this price and I would have rated this phone four stars if I trusted the fact that it would perform this well with oneui 5 and Android 13 and further solidifying my 3-star reasoning, while the chipset inside of it is decent for a low-end processor, it draws 7 watts of electricity which sucks the battery right into the pocket dimension. Gone. This battery does not perform like a 5,000 milliamp hour barrery should, and it only gets worse as you ask more from the phone. The good news is most of that power is devoted to CPU processing so while a lot of things will be laggy, it will catch up extremely fast and you will probably forget about what you were angry about in the first place.

Middle of the Road

It hurts me to say this, because I'm usually a huge Samsung fan and they've never steered me wrong. But this particular phone, for whatever reason, just doesn't live up to the Samsung brand name. The performance is slow, the battery life is extremely disappointing, and even though I have unlimited everything through AT%26T, I often get an error that I'm not on the internet when I have a full signal. I've never had this problem with a phone before. I find it hard to believe that it's the AT%26T network because my last Samsung, the S9, was on AT%26T and that phone ran circles around this one. The Samsung A13 5G seemed to be a popular phone, my research showed. I spent 11 days trying to get the phone “onto the network”. It was reprovisioned to the tower 4 times. Updates that were said to have been added, I was later told were not added. I went through the same trouble shooting steps, over and over for days. I waited the 24 to 48 hours for whatever they did to kick in. Nothing ever kicked in. The phone did not want to connect via data to the internet. If it did, it was as slow as dial up on 5G, and it disconnected after 2 minutes. If I wanted to make a phone call, it would dial and immediately hang up, saying “call ended”. It only made a call if I restarted the phone. 20 minutes later, it had to be restarted again to make another call. Text verification to activate phone is nonsense !

I sent my phone in due to a non functioning microphone. I go no response on that trouble ticket so I bought the new phone. When I got the new phone I had trouble activating it because they need to send a verification text to my number. Since no longer had my old phone I had no way of receiving that text and they would not send me the verification via mu email of record. They told me the only way I could proceed was to borrow another phone to receive the text. I borrowed my brothers phone and ran into the same problem. This time they said they could not send the text to a different number which is exactly what they had recommended earlier. dont buy even in store

my bf and I both bought these phones at the same time. my charger outlet quit working within a month, no cord works well. when i type anything and have to delete a word it will often delete everything you typed. apps stop working and random apps will pop up. my bf will type a message and it will change the text before sending it. the thumbprint activation has quit working. random apps will start like spotify and start playing. GET A PROTECTION PLAN WITH ANY PRE PAID PHONE.
