I give credit where credit is due. On this occasion it isn't.I purchased what was advertised as a new Samsung A33 5g from, what I thought was a reputable online retailer.I was therefore angered to find that when the phone arrived it was sealed with a sticker stating that the phone was originally sold by Samsung for the European market, but that it had been brought into the UK by a 3rd party company, Brand Smart Ltd. who had opened the product and replaced the firmware with an English version before reselling. This is not a new phone in my opinion, and if any of this had been stated on the AO website I wouldn't have purchased it, which is presumably why none of it was mentioned. This is the sort of 'grey market' dealing you expect from a dodgy online seller whose ... MoreI give credit where credit is due. I got this for the wife simply because she has an A5 2017 already that this is replacing due to the battery not lasting as long now, which has a stronger feeling battery than this even though that's only lasting 1 day on average now (hence replacing it), but personally I am very unimpressed by the battery life, and I despise mind games playing on words that people have no way to fully take on board what is said, the phone is sold as having a 5000mAh battery, but go into the phones info and look at the battery they say;"The typical capacity has been tested under 3rd party etc..., The typical capacity is the estimated average capacity considering etc..., the deviation..., The rated capacity is 4860 mAh"I doubt it's ability to last 48 hours unless you don't use it ... MoreI got this the estimated average capacity considering etc..., the deviation..., The rated capacity is 4860 mAh"I doubt it's ability to last 48 hours unless you don't use it much, or shut down many of it's features (which is what they claim the phone does automatically anyway), just left untouched it went down to 5% in 48 hours, but time will tell, but I was expecting much better than this personally, my phone lasts around 3 days with typical usage, playing games for over 8 hours a day I get 2 days use from it which has a 5800 mAh battery. Then while I was signing into my account adding the sign in to the phone, made it impossible to use as they insert my name into the phone without any notification at all when linking it, so the phone displays my name not my wife's (and she does not want a Samsung account and Samsung has not helped with this), if I change the phones name back to hers, Samsung hijack my account online and change my online account to my wife's name, I asked for help and got a nonsense email back missing the point altogether that said if what they sent didn't help, reply back, so I did, only to get that email bounced back to with the message ": host apps-support-samsung.com refused to talk to me"I wish I could say I'm surprised, but I had a Samsung way back that went faulty multiple times, eventually it fried the memory card I bought, which was also a high end Samsung card recommended for the phone, and it was very expensive, all Samsung said was they didn't have a card that big to send out, they would do 2 smaller cards to match the capacity, what on earth use is that to anyone(?), if I wanted a smaller card I would have bought one, but they expected me to carry both cards with me and swap as needed, absolutely pathetic joke of a response, more so when their own device fried their own card rated for the phone, and their response was "Well this is the only thing we will do".The menu system is out there a bit, and the new features are very complex to use, but part of that is down to not having any experience with these, all I know is trying to set the phone up the way the wife want's is impossible so far, but things change over time but it makes it so much harder to do the simple bit's we want such as adding a message to the lock screen in memory of her parents, because changing one bit over rides another, but that's partly due to being updated to Android 13 which was a surprise, I appreciate doing the setup will go through the battery faster than normal usage, but for me it still feels very lacking, charging is over 1.5 hours or so (nearer 2 hours first time as it was pretty low before we got it) which isn't as quick as I'd expect from the write up using a fast charger.I had become aware that they no longer seem to sell chargers with the phones now, so although disappointing, I guess it makes sense business wise, as many have chargers from previous phones that are just sat there or binned, the only point to remember is that as phones require more powerful chargers, they become a bigger investment, so buy bigger than you need and it will serve you for the next X generations of phones for longer, but I was very surprised that there wasn't even a screen cover on it, applying one after you get it is never as easy to apply as the factory, so that was a let down for me as well, I always leave them on until they start to lift on the edges as it just adds that extra layer of cover which extends the life of the screen from scratches etc.The Only thing that has impressed me is the smooth video, another maker has an Ad running on TV where they are being bounced all over the place, but the camera remains steady, well this phone does that as well, but so far for me it is the only good thing I could say about this, but personally there are far better phones around with substantially better ability's that I will always use myself, unfortunately the wife doesn't want a bigger phone that has these things, but there is still a lot to learn with the new features it has.

Pros: Only went Samsung because of their excellent update policy. Always had Motorola (7) previously. Nice screen, good battery life, latest Android.Cons: Too many unnecessary apps that use battery and cannot be disabled. One called Digital Wellbeing is an out and out privacy nightmare, totally not needed and every time you stop it it restarts. Camera's are dissapointingly only 'ok' nothing special especially on zoom. The phone also does not pull the signal in as well as a Moto G 5g plus, noticeably worse. Finally too many apps duplicated Samsing and Google doing the same thing and again many cannot be removed. For the price it's an ok phone not an outstanding one.

Its a great phone, And love how it has stereo sound, Never in my life did I ever have a phone that would be stereo sound.Does everything I need it to, Just like any phone before it.Only nit pic, Sure its dual sim, Buy your can't dual sim with a memory card. 1 or the two you'll need to sacrifice.I loved the dual card back on the a22, plus the sd card. That's pretty much the only flaw I really have.Apart from that it's a great phone for the price.
Pros: Battery lasts so much longer than my old Galaxy, mind you I did have it for years. Everything, almost, similar outlay to old phone.Cons: First thing I noticed was that my old Samsung charger cable doesn’t fit ! And the new Galaxy does not come with one. Had to buy a new charge cable. It may well be that I’m not used to it yet, but the colour adjustment is not great, or easy to adjust. I don’t have bright red, and can’t find it ! I have sort of brownish red.
Recommend it. A very interesting Innovation, speaking of the systems included in it, similar to the Google pixel, the only nuance is that there are not enough options for photo editing functions, you could create something similar to the Google pixel it would be more interesting. But I am very happy with my Samsung Galaxy A33 G5. One more thing - there are problems with updates, sometimes they can be installed, but sometimes not, please solve this problem and everything will be great. An interesting experiment on the part of the manufacturers. Best regards Arturs Z.
Pros: Fingerprint security, water resistant to a point, camera, able to edit messages not sent yet, the way security links tour accounts for Fingerprint safety. The in game priority mode, Able to get most info from old phone even if different make.Cons: When you do something on the phone a message always comes on the screen at the bottom on an almost black background confirming what you just did, which would be OK but message stays on the screen for ages with no swipe action or way to remove immediately thus stopping you doing other things on screen. I needed to replace my old Samsung smart phone which was many years old and with only 8gb of memeory I had to constantly delete files. The A33 5g 128gb with 6gbram. is superb and very fast from selecting installed apps. The battery life is exceptional, I dont have it glued to my ear like my kids and grandchildren but I get three to four days before its dropped to 15%. I used the camera to good use last night at my local jazz club although the lighting was not ideal just a couple of hundred watts for the whole stage area Taking shots of the 18 piece big band they are very acceptable. I just purchased the A33 5G and happy with the camera sharpness. Unless its a side by side comparison with others, the differences is miniscule at this price. It gives quite a realistic balance rather than add artificial warmth to photos. In any case, you can still exaggerate the colors through the edit menu. Performance is about the same as dearer models. You need to spend a lot more just to get any real visible difference in video capturing.
Pros: As a 53yr old guy, it's near perfect for my level of tech knowledge. Excellent camera, musical sound and memory (to replace my own, haha!). Upgraded from the A7 and why anybody would pay more is beyond me. I appreciate tech savvy youngsters and gamers etc might roll their eyes, but it suits me down to the ground.Cons: Stull struggling to link to my PC to download files, upload music etc and an also unsure whether it will cast to other devices when streaming live sport. More a comment on the users age versus simplicity, otherwise no gripes at all!
