I am tech savvy but not that bound to mobile devices so my requirements are not excessive in the need of a higher end mobile. In short I need to make calls, text, use a few apps for both work & personal use, and that's it. My previous Samsung had lasted me a long time - upgrade was way overdue. Not sure if harder going from another mobile producer to Samsung would be as smooth? I just had to re-login to apps etc. The other benefit was the SIM card holder also accommodates a Micro-SD card so that saved me massively with a smooth switch to the new device as I had a lot of data on it. It was a requirement for me in upgrading. That has also been problem free. I've done some travel with GoogleMaps and the battery life has been phenomenal. Absolutely phenomenal. A luxury after the issues I had with my tired previous mobile. I find customising the phone easy, integration with Google/Gmail robust, and the speaker is also brilliant. I have my audio settings low it is so clean cut. Camera is taking high quality pics so all good there. Price wise the value was there easily with a basic comparative shop around. All in all, if you want something that's not in the cheap market but not in the higher end proving to be robust and relatively hassle free, then this is a more than reliable model to pick up.

So that's a bit of a downside.Other than that, the a55 is a very solid phone and great alternative to a flagship phone , IF you can pick it up for under £300.

It's a good phone but the customer service of Samsung's incompetent troubleshooting bucks big time. My phone is only weeks old and had problems from the day I received it, the problem is that this a55 5g phone has problems recognising a tethering conection to my one year old desk top with the latest software and I tried 2 premium usb-c to usb-a cable's and the phone had the same problems! I contacted Samsung's customer service and all you get is a support centre in Asia with people who hardly speak English and don't even understand the question that one has to ask to resolve the issue or troubleshooting the phone or settings etc. I was told to take it to a service centre in Sydney even though that I mentioned that it is 800km away from my place and the other closest ... Another thing to mention is that this phone because of it's square design is harder to hold in my hand and I have quite large hands compared to my old Samsung which had the same overall width but with a more rounded frame. Also no charger comes with this phone another $39 on top of the phone price, chargers used to be included with phones also that useless usb-c to usb-c cable that one can only use for charging but to transfer data to your desktop you need to buy another $20 cable! I can tell you that my next phone won't be a Sumsung phone I will take my money somewhere else especially for an overpriced phone that I had problems with from day one and the incompetency of Samsung and it's customer service and troubleshooting

I only upgraded as my old handset was getting irritatingly slow and the battery had lost some power, but otherwise still most useable.So the A55 is a big improvement, yet familiar. The camera is far better. I like the overall design with a large screen and importantly, it responds quickly - no more waiting some seconds before the camera is ready to shoot, meaning I lost out on many photo opportunities where speed was of the essence. I do have a lot of apps and it was a pain to sign into all of them again (considering I forgot a lot of the passwords!) Then of course with banking apps and the likes, you have to register a new handset, which is all a bit of a pain and time consuming. But I would have had that issue with any ... I decided I preferred to pay upfront for the more than adequate A55, so there is no financial tie for the next 2 or 3 years.To summarise, the A55 is a very satisfactory mid-range phone with a good camera (important for my business), a lively interface, a decent battery life (although I drain it quickly as like to listen to podcasts on YouTube whilst I am working) and seems like an all-round better version of an old and trusty friend!
Out of the box, this phone ran like it was a year old and had the software bloat and sluggishness that comes along with it. It's only gotten worse. Bluetooth connectivity is a spotty and frustrating hassle, and mine arrived with a manufacturer defect even the over-the-phone top tier phone support expert couldn't help me with, which is that my speaking voice over Bluetooth in the car comes through distorted, garbled, and kinda scary sounding. Imagine being on the road taking personal and work calls and having to manually disconnect from Bluetooth (waiting several seconds to do so) every time. Phone calls through the main phone app are the only time this issue happens, strangely. I also had an entire section of the display become unresponsive to touch, making daily ... This phone's very existence feels like evidence of how much of our world is crowded by consumer garbage made to trap us into monthly payments and subscriptions, offering little value, if any. Samsung will keep making garbage because we buy it, T-Mobile will keep offering mediocre experiences because telecoms in the US are a lawless wasteland, and the entire tech world will continue failing to meaningfully discuss this issue because the planned obsolescence product refresh cycle keeps us distracted by the next thing instead of creating a space of sustainability and accountability. Samsung and T-Mobile are making me strongly consider whether I want to continue using smartphones at all, and it feels like they and the collective software makers of the world are counting on their respective ecosystems' hooks making the prospect of leaving too difficult to follow through on. If I do, it'll be with this most recent experience vividly in mind. I was even lucky enough to find decent cases with sliding camera covers which really provides the best protection for our phones & awesome cameras! First off, I will say that I have used apple iPhone for most of my life having a phone. I have only recently switched over to Samsung. That being said, the overall quality of a Samsung A54 5g is definitely on par with any apple product in my humble opinion. The way the A54 5g is compatible with many different types of software is a huge selling point for me. The Camera on the A54 5g is not as good as an iPhone, nor as good as the S model Galaxy phones, but if you're buying a phone just for the camera, just buy a camera...I use my A54 5g for many different things, Gaming, School, Video calls, and also as a fledgling software enthusiast. The ability to download and run multiple different programs from different sources I.e: Google, Microsoft, and other software ... The Camera on the A54 5g is not as good as an iPhone, nor as good as the S model Galaxy phones, but if you're buying a phone just for the camera, just buy a camera...I use my A54 5g for many different things, Gaming, School, Video calls, and also as a fledgling software enthusiast. The ability to download and run multiple different programs from different sources I.e: Google, Microsoft, and other software developers is one of the coolest things the Galaxy A54 5g allows. The ability to change the home screen layouts (mine is the Microsoft Launcher UI) as opposed to the default Samsung Home UI-6.Another plus I find with the Galaxy A54 5g is the durability, these things are almost Indestructible with a decent case on them. With the exception of dropping something fairly heavy and hard directly on the screen, or purposefully throwing the phone into a wall, the phone screen doesn't break. Also, replacing broken hardware is cheap, most cheaper than iPhone or S model Galaxy phones, repairing the device is so easy even a novice can do it with steady hands and the right tools.ALL I ALL THE SAMSUNG A54 5G IS AN EXCELLENT PHONE

It's no one's fault some places are just like that. The day I switched from a galaxy A03 to an Galaxy A15 5G I was hooked. Granted I don't pay much attention to the Galaxy AI it clearly functions well as I rarely loose signal. Has great sound quality for calls and music. Loads of space and heightened AI to keep things where they belong and in tip top shape. Overall I'd say I wish I'd had this phone sooner and I'm very happy I have it at all. Great gift for Christmas especially if your child or loved one games or makes videos. It's also good for simple video streaming like YouTube or any other app. The 5G at its best works to present about 5 to 10 mb per millisecond, it could probably do better in a place thats not a variable signal zone. So it's great all in all perfect for the average person.
I have bought the Samsung A55 2 weeks ago and am in love with it. For a budget phone, any ordinary customer will never be able to discern this from Samsung's flagship 'S' series. Not only does it have very similar features to the 'S' series for only half the price it has a plethora of customisation options which you cannot find for phones of this price point, such as being able to assign a specific function by double pressing the power button such as a launching the camera app or flashlight. Of course, if someone does want the higher camera resolution, faster snapdragon chip in comparison the Exynos 1480 chip, by all means purchase one of the flag ship phones. Based on looks alone it could easily be mistaken for a samsung flag ship phone. With the phone being Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front and back, it ensures the phone is protected to a high degree. Additionally, the side island Samsung decided to implement makes turning the volume up/down and finding the power button so much simpler -. Finally, the metal aluminum is the cherry on top for making this phone feel more premium for half the price.I highly recommend this phone for someone new phone but not wanting to pay a lot of money for very premium features. Honestly I've yet to decide if it would improve my phone enough to merit a week's pay. Last gripe is the dunking contest. I believe it's a minor cost to IP coat a board. Life is dependebly unkind.
