A MASSIVE improvement over my original Buds Live!

I had the original Buds Live in Bronze that came with my Note 20 Ultra 3 years ago. I was very disappointed with them. The physical design and the sound quality didn't justify the price if I had have paid for them. These however, are outstanding! They fit properly in the ear and thus don't fall out when leaning over or anything. They're a lot easier to keep clean. And more importantly the improvement in sound quality is glaringly obvious. Not only are they louder but the clarity and sharpness is much better too. You can hear background sounds/instruments that were hidden compared to the originals. The software/settings are user friendly. Please, Samsung, do not stop offering this shape & design! The Galaxy Buds Live are the ONLY earbuds I have EVER been able to keep in my ears! (And they do not hurt either) Even the newer version that sticks in the ear more does not stay in for me. The shape of these is unbeatable in my opinion. I'm sure people have different shaped ears, so what works for some may not work for all, but as I said these ones have been a game changer for me because of the shape and size! The pair we have owned even got dropped into water one time, when they fell out of a pocket, case and all, and the earphones flew out of the case into the water... We quickly scooped them out and had to dry them, BUT THEY STILL CONTINUE TO WORK with no problems! I only wish you could still buy them in white, and the rose gold, or other colours like light purple or a neon pink, or even some nude shades like KimK Beats! This design in all of those colours would be better than anything else! Please keep making & selling this design forever & bring out more colours! (I would definitely buy them in multiple colours.) Nothing else on the market compares to the fit of these, and the sound and battery is excellent in my opinion too. 5 stars!

It is much better than the original GBPro model though! The ambient mode is quite a bit behind the Sony Linkbuds S though, its OK but not great.Comfort wise these are as good as the Linkbuds S which until these arrived were my most comfortable TWS. These also have much better tips than the original GBPro so are a huge step up over the original model. The app aside from a few new settings specific to this model has the same limitations and features as past models. I do wish Samsung would give users the ability to setthwir own EQ settings. The new experimental feature for volume work very well as I now can tap my ear to increase or decrease the volume which I find to be a good compromise on their default gesture configurations allow me to mange everything from the TWS which I think is a must in this day and age.If you have a newer Samsung phone the scalable codec is a true delight to use, so much easier and more reliable than products relying on LDAC. But you have to have a new enough Samsung phone to use this wonderful codec. For non Samsung users you will be limited to AAc or SBC which does lower the detail of the sound. But the over all sound signature remains intact so will give similar but slightly lower quality sound. Without having the ability to A/B extensively most would not really notice a difference.I am very happy with this new model, Samsung has exceeded my expectations for audio quality. Now if they can tackle the battery life and make it slightly more customizable for controls and EQ they will go from a 4 to an easy 5!

Blown away !
13 October 2022

I was literally blown away the second I turned on the music. First of all, these are finally truly loud wireless earbuds, this is first time ever where I was dialling the volume down, because 80% is plenty! There is nothing more annoying when there is good song and you press the button to increase the volume and just hear "beep - maximum volume", but it is still quiet. Worry no more! I would not advise listening at 100% all the time, but if there is anyone who will have a say about damaging or preserving my hearing it will be me!Secondly, bass is so deep that I struggle to remember anything of this size to come close - perhaps original Beats by Dr. Dre 10 year ago (obviously they were wired). Still the sound is extremely detailed and very well separated i.e. bass, treble, vocals and mids all sounds very distinct and clear. Which leads to next point...Third, the clarity is in the league of it's own , to the point where it almost becomes an issue. This is no fault of the earbuds, but if you music source is less then perfect then you will hear it, it reproduce sound so clearly that any noise will be heard, so... just make sure you listen to good quality source. So it is a good thing if you have good quality source, it will be great for watching movies etc. where it sometimes hard to tell voices apart from background effects etc.Fourth, ambient sounds something altogether, it literally enhances your hearing as with earbuds in and ambient sound on you will hear thing normal human can't hear. I don't want to exaggerate - you not snooping on conversation 200m away any time soon, but if people are whispering 5 metres away you will hear it like they whispering it to your ear. It is sometimes creepy, yet it does exactly what it says to do - you don't feel like your ears are plugged anymore and all surrounding sounds are clarified and amplified. You not going to need to take them out to have a conversation for sure.Perhaps only one caveat - £219 is quite a lot, I got them for free with Fold 4, if it would have been my own money I probably would not have considered spending that much, but that is on assumption that it will be diminishing returns. However, in this case I think they are really worth it and one is not overpaying considering how well they perform.Apart of that they have excellent connectivity and great battery life - I would go as far as saying they are perfect for the purpose they were designed. Can't find any fault and they exceeded expectation in all possible criteria.

Great technology, horrible ear tips
10 March 2023

I love the technology - the noise cancellation is great and I love the ambient sound function. The mic quality is good for calls and the sound quality for music is great. HOWEVER, the ear tips for this are horrible! I passed the fit test with the stock ones that came on them yet they fall out of my ears if I talk with them in or yawn. I had to push them back into my ears several times a day. The material they used for these is awful as well, I can't wear them in my left ear because it has been irritated since I started wearing them and still hasn't healed. I can't wear it for long in my right ear either without my ear getting irritated. I've been looking for replacement tips to solve this issue and read so many reviews on Amazon stating the same irritation issue. My husband tried them out for a day and had irritated ears for over a week. I shouldn't have to buy after market ear tips on a product that costs hundreds of dollars to begin with... the technology in it is of no use to me if I can't actually wear them because of the tips.. This was a gift so I can't return it so I guess I'll have to spend the extra money to find the right tips.

High price for average and unreliable buds

About what you would expect at this price point- Noise cancelling was also good. Not as good as some competing products, but acceptable at this price point- The case is adequately compact and provides enough charge to comfortably listen to the buds all dayNow to the cons:- Most important drawback - both buds failed just a bit over 1 year of not very intensive use (both within one week of each other). You are better off choosing one of the competing products- Microphone quality is subpar. I had to switch back to my phone for better sound quality on numerous occasions and even in quiet office settings- The touch controls rarely work as intended and are unituitiveOverall, these buds are fine if you get them free with a Samsung product, but if you have to pay money for them - consider other options

No Wireless Charging

Just a word of caution to potential buyers because Samsung doesn't make obvious, these earbuds DO NOT have wireless charging. You have to actually plug them in via a USB-C cable.I have mixed feelings about these earbuds. It feels like two steps forward, one step back. The standard I hold these to are Samsung's very own Galaxy Buds+, made years ago, but still their best buds.Pros: The fit and sound superb. If you liked the Galaxy Buds+, you'll like these. These also feel a little lighter than my Buds+. Also they are more a matte finish, unlike the Buds+ that show EVERY fingerprint.Cons: No wireless charging, slightly less battery life than Buds+, again Samsung insists on using a square case rather than the pill/rectangle shape. Short answer-these don't even compare to the older galaxy buds plus priced about the same when they were sold. long answer- I have been a samsung user pretty much all my life but these past years they are just throwing themselves away. I bought these samsung galaxy buds to replace my old samsung galaxy buds plus that had damaged not too long ago from being washed in my washing machine 3 times they still work but are very finicky so i thought id get a new pair since my old ones held up amazing. oh was that a mistake these are the worst pair of earbuds i bought in a long time that are over 10 dollars. they don't stay in your ears as well as the buds plus because they dont have the part on the top that holds onto your ears so i cant use mine at the gym, walking, ... MoreShort answer-these don't even compare to the older galaxy buds plus priced about the same when they were sold. long answer- I have been a samsung user pretty much all my life but these past years they are just throwing themselves away. I bought these samsung galaxy buds to replace my old samsung galaxy buds plus that had damaged not too long ago from being washed in my washing machine 3 times they still work but are very finicky so i thought id get a new pair since my old ones held up amazing. oh was that a mistake these are the worst pair of earbuds i bought in a long time that are over 10 dollars. they don't stay in your ears as well as the buds plus because they dont have the part on the top that holds onto your ears so i cant use mine at the gym, walking, talking, or even just sitting alone playing games while listening to music because they just fall out it was so dumb to remove this part because if you didn't want it you could take it off on the old ones or if you wanted/needed it you had it the fit is just terrible i can't believe this went through production. the connection quality is also just as bad maybe worse i have a 10 year old sony headset that very rarely has a connection issue ive had too many with these earbuds ive lost count i constenty have it go to one earbud than go back as im using my laptop (a brand new XPS 15) which i never had with my old galaxy buds plus on my iphone Xs max i have constent problems with connection and you might think well its because its iphone but this problem never happened with my old galaxy buds and the same problem is still there on my samsung galaxy A5 2017 the audio also just sometimes disconnects as im using them no reason and it takes multiple tries to get them to connect again. the touch pads also are terrible they're too small that i can't even tell if they work because its so hard to hit and than while im trying to get them to fit in my ear as they fall out all the time it messes with my music my old galaxy buds rarely had these problems they always fit well even while running in the gym and the touchpad was perfect always new how to hit it unlike these ones where i feel like it isn't there because its so difficult to hit. the shape of the case is terrible at night or blindly trying to open the case i can't because its a square so i can never tell which side is the right one my old earbuds you new because there was a small lip on the right side and it was a pill shape which was just better. The audio quality isn't an improvement its worse my galaxy buds plus have more bass and better clarity even after being washed which made them worse which is why i got new earbuds which is sad because a broken pair is better than these ones and the battery life is better on my old galaxy bud just the left one the right was affected more but the old ones had better battery they are also louder my old ones seem to be louder and much nicer to listen to at high volumes because they have better clarity and bass. the features well it feels AGAIN like a downgrade the noise canceling is a joke right because it makes no difference but make the battery life worse my XPS under heavy load can make some noise 56 decibels and these things cant keep that sound out any better than no noise canceling my old galaxy buds didn't have noise canceling but they did it better because they got louder basically blocking everything the noise canceling don't even compare to my friends airpod pros so if you are expecting that let your hopes down. the ambient sound is ok its about as loud as my old galaxy buds but sounds a bit worse. i also tried the bass boost in the equalizer did basically nothing just turned down the highs a bit to make it seem like these earbuds have a bit more bass on my old earbuds it actually boosted the bass without making the rest of the audio sound worse. there is so much more i can go on about these earbuds being worse than the old ones and just being a complete letdown from the older ones. honestly i would recommend going with apple as i did i used to use Samsung only but i have been moving away more and more because of how low there standards are now they cut support for galaxy buds plus for everything so i can't use the app on my laptop for them. you basically loose support as soon as the newer one comes out. i also didn't get a samsung and got a iphone X because my friend has a 2 year old s21 that is already running slow bad battery life. my old samsungs all still have great batteries and are only slow because they are old not because samsung wants you to buy a new phone. apple holds support for their iphones and products much longer there 1st gen airpods still have support. It pains me to see how much samsungs quality has really dropped everything new from samsung just ins't as good as the older stuff

Try before you buy, they may slip out of your ears
24 May 2023

I got these in August (currently May) and there is so much to love about them, but they have one pretty bad flaw.I'll start with what I like. Prior to buying these I had a pair of Premium over ear noise cancelling headphones and some cheap wireless ear buds, these are a major upgrade over the cheap ear buds, and a strong competitor with my much larger and more expensive over ear headphones, especially since they are way more portable. In addition to the portability, the audio quality is great, the battery lasts surprisingly long (I like 2 hours of phone calls or a whole day at work with noise cancelling and spotify), and I don't often run into connectivity issues with my Samsung phone or my windows laptop. I got these for with my Samsung galaxy z flip 4 pre-order ... MoreI got these in August (currently May) and there is so much to love about them, but they have one pretty bad flaw.I'll start with what I like. I got these for with my Samsung galaxy z flip 4 pre-order and if you can get them with some sort of deal I would say go for it. However, I am not sure I would pay full price for them. The main reason being that they have a big design flat: they progressively slip out of your ear. I've tried every tip that comes with them and the problem still occurs. This is particularly a problem when I'm eating or talking with them in, as the motion of my jaw moves them out. I then find myself pushing them in. This is where the second problem comes up, because every time I push them in, I activate the touch controls and pause/unpause my media content. I like the touch to pause feature, so I don't want to disable it, but the tradeoff is having to deal with that. My recommendation is try them out while talking and moving around before buying. If it weren't for the fact that they slip out as you wear them, I would recommend them without hesitation, even at full price.

thought it would be an upgrade

I bought this to 'upgrade' from my Buds Pro of 2021. ~ nothing wrong with the Buds Pro still functioning well & I am very happy with it.But I decided to go for the Pro 2 for the aesthetics... I like that it's smaller in comparison and looks a bit better. I got the White and I love it... but that's about it.Just now comparing the sound quality to my Buds Pro and I am not impressed.• The Buds Pro 2, even with the bass booster and active noise cancelling on, sounds like sh!t.(Whereas on the Buds Pro, the two makes a significant difference).• It sounds very harsh, especially when loud, it's unbearable if not worse, you just want to take them off. whereas it's still tolerable & easy on the ear on the Buds Pro, it sounds great.• The other thing about the ear ... MoreI bought this to 'upgrade' from my Buds Pro of 2021. ~ nothing wrong with the Buds Pro still functioning well & I am very happy with it.But I decided to go for the Pro 2 for the aesthetics... Could be just me...All in All, having only used and tested the Buds Pro 2 for about 30mins, I am once again not impressed, highly disappointed and wish I could return it. If you have a functioning Buds Pro, It will be a waste to buy the Pro 2... If you have nothing at all, perhaps go ahead but at the same time choose wisely.1 Star because I am a tad angry that I anticipated something amazing only to be disappointed.
