When ordering the ring, I'd say it's a must to get the sizing kit, as the sizes aren't necessarily the same as you would normally use for a conventional ring. I also liked that I could try it out on a few digits to see which felt most comfortable before committing to a specific finger. I found wearing as the images might suggest on your index finger, it ended up getting in the way when I was using my devices, or even my mouse at work, so ended up settling on my middle finger which was a different size to my index, only slightly but the sizing kit helped me make that decision. When the Galaxy Ring arrived it is impressive how small it is, when you think about the tech that is inside it. And the little carry/charging case it comes with is a great product to use on the go with the ability to hold a charge in the case meaning you don't have to be plugged in to get some juice out of it. It feels great too, really well finished and feel comfortable to wear day in day out. The battery life on it seems to be a winner against your conventional health tracking watch/wearables. Its been going strong for nearly a week now with a charge, although I guess without a screen or any notifications draining its battery it shouldn't be too stressed on the battery front. But charging is simple, just slip it on the dock and away it goes. Plug in the case too and it will charge the case and the ring at the same time. The Galaxy Ring is a great little device to track your health stats if you are not into wearing a fitness watch as a standard. Its small and discreet so not as intrusive as a fitness watch might be, but if you wear a few other rings it might be a little bit on the larger size if you are wearing smaller bands, so might be more noticeable on your person. Overall, I'm impressed and look forward to seeing if they introduce the gesture functionality for some of the other Galaxy devices.

Samsung's entry into the smart ring market has been long awaited and I was thrilled to finally get to try it out.The sizing process for the Galaxy Smart Ring was handled well - a small box with plastic replica rings from sizes 5-13. I tried on a few sizes and on different fingers before settling for the one that fit comfortably both day and night. I did the sizing before ordering my ring, but you can also get a sizing kit as part of your order and they will ship the ring with your chosen size.Unboxing is always fun, and I love the case that the Galaxy Ring comes in. It's still early days with regard to testing battery life, but it is rated for up to 7 days on a full charge. I'm one day since a full charge showing 87% remaining, so that's within the expected range. The ring is comfortable to wear (helped by choosing the right size before ordering!) and looks quite nice - not too thick or conspicuous, which is what I wanted. The main features are of course the health information that is tracked by the ring - primarily activity, heart rate and sleep. Sleep tracking seems to be quite accurate, although I'll need to track it over a longer period to get some practical insights. Heart rate tracking is displayed in graphs with Min/Max per hour as well as a rolling daily resting average. This is all tied together through an "Energy Score" which takes in all of the tracked metrics and gives suggestions based on this (e.g. "Don't overdo it!" which I received the day after a long run). This also highlights areas that require attention (sleep, recent activity etc). The gesture features (tap index finger and thumb together to take photo or cancel an alarm) are only supported on certain Samsung phones with One UI 6.1.1+, and are fun but not something I've used very often. So far I'm really impressed by the ring and am looking forward to getting some more insights into my current sleep and activity habits. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to track these sorts of things, but perhaps doesn't want to wear a smart watch all of the time.

Where to start... First I'm going to complain about the looks and finish of this ring. For the hefty price tag of $400 this ring looks super cheap it has no shine to it whatsoever like metal doesn't feel like metal looks more like cheap plastic it measures about a quarter of an inch thick which for a ring is pretty thin especially for a male. I would of liked to have Samsung offer a narrow as well as a wider band option. Vs only one size fits all optin. For the price of the ring I'm disappointed in the look and quality of its finish I've seen the silver, gold and I have the black and they all look like cheap plastic to my eyes. On to what it was designed to do. The ring does track sleep snoring heartbeat walking and activities just fine as it supposed to. I'm ... MoreWhere to start... On to what it was designed to do. The ring does track sleep snoring heartbeat walking and activities just fine as it supposed to. I'm surprised by how small the ring is that it's built in battery last as long as it does. It's a shame Samsung can't make their watches which are 20 times the size of the ring, last longer than the normal day day and a half on a single charge at 100%.The ring takes over most the responsibilities of activity and sleep tracking when you're wearing your Galaxy watch I myself have the Galaxy watch six classic, and I noticed the battery goes by just as fast when wearing the ring as when I didn't have it so that makes no difference. I do like the look of the watch case which also charges the ring. The case can be charged wirelessly or you can charge it with a USBC cable. So far I've charged the case only once when I received it and I've charged the ring three times with battery still to spare in the case. In my personal opinion of ring feels rushed to market to me, I think Samsung should have spent a little more time developing it especially the looks because it just looks like something you can pick up at Target for $10.I personally can't recommend the ring for its looks but most people won't be buying it for its looks although I would think that would be heavily taking in to consideration, when you're forking over $400 for a so-called smart ring that looks so cheap. If it were me designing the ring I would have made it another 1/8 of an inch wider and tried to shave a 32nd second off the thickness. Which would still have plenty of battery for a week's worth of use, on a single charge.

I was very excited to purchase the GALAXY RING becauseI don't always like wearing big bulky, smart watches, especially to bed. So I'm excited to get some sleep tracking in a different way through this ring and in addition to the sleep tracking, we also just have our general health metrics. We have stayed Minutes of activity, the calories burned again, just those simple metrics that you can get on pretty much any smart watch nowadays now have it here on the Galaxy ring. The ring is also capable of predicting menstrual cycles, but for whatever it's worth my wife said initially when she looked at this Galaxy ring it just looked way too big and bulky for females, so maybe Samsung will make a more treat. Slim down version of this in the future, but right now we have a pretty bulky ring over all that maybe a lot of females might not like to wear. As far as some sleep settings, we can track our blood oxygen during sleep by a Sue metal, take up more battery life. We have some snore detection and skin temperature during sleep, we can order To tech workouts with this ring, just like on the watches, which is nice the time of this video, it looks like it can automatically detect walking and running now. Another interesting thing with this ring is the gestures, so you are going to be able to do some gestures with this ring on to control your smartphone works best. With your index or middle finger, but I went ahead and did it with my ring finger. And it says you got it, so it does do it through the ring finger as well, it's only going to be able to dismiss an alarm or take a picture or video. Galaxy ring it is really nice to you can get some basic tracking metrics from just the smart ring. Don't need a smart watch if you can get your heart rate your work out duration. Your number of steps and also has your different heart rate zones and things so actually pretty in depth for A little ring here on my finger, but I think the ring would have definitely used more battery if I was tracking multiple workouts throughout the day, so samsung needs to work a bit on energy consumption.
Overall I am fairly impressed with the Samsung Galaxy Ring, it provides me with additional health data in a less intrusive way especially for sleep where I find wearing watches unconformable. It is the first version of the product so there is definitely room for improvement moving forward.Quality - the material feels relatively strong yet at the same time it feels cheap, if you order the sizing kit they literally feel the same as the plastic and you wouldn't be able to notice the different to the touch. The ring does feel slightly cheap when you can see the sensors through the ring when you look down it which does make it feel like it would be weaker. The ring does feel slightly cheap when you can see the sensors through the ring when you look down it which does make it feel like it would be weaker. Given this I am yet to test the water resistance as I do not think it would hold up (so I remove for washing hands, in the shower, etc.)Battery - I have been very impressed with the battery life, yet to dip below 80% as I put it in the charger whilst showering. These small charges here and there keep the charge high, given I have manually set the sensors to take constant readings (every 10 minutes). The charge case does feel very premium and is easy to have in a bag or pocket.Health - The health tracking features have been very good so far, mainly the sleep tracking is very impressive - seeing HR, body temperature, etc throughout the night totalling into a sleep score and energy score is quite impressive. I have noticed that the step counter either highly over or under counts vs a smart watch - this is most likely something that can be fixed with a software update.Overall I am impressed so far with the health features and the ability to track sleep in a more ergonomic manner. I do think the quality is lacking and I would not be inclined to recommend the product at the high price, given it is a first version I would advise possible buyers to wait for the second version which will take learnings from this, unless you want a product to track sleep in a nicer way vs a smart watch.
Being an Samsung Android user it's been great to get the Samsung ring. My main use case was to provide a view into sleep anbd step tracking, without having to accept wearing a big smart watch 24/7.The ring form factor works brilliantly for this and is a much more convenient way to constantly generate this insight in a subtle way.The ring sizing approach from Samsung was excellent and I definitely recommend grabbing the free ring sizing kit. I ended up with a size 12 worn on my middle finger after expecting to use a smaller size on a ring finger so the chance to trial was valuable.Unboxing experience was positive and the supplied charger case felt premium and will be useful on longer trips to easily recharge the ring. This won't be often however as battery life ... MoreBeing an Samsung Android user it's been great to get the Samsung ring. This won't be often however as battery life has proved to be excellent, usually lasting 6+ days between charges with all tracking options activated (aside form snore tracking!).The ring itself is very light and comfortable with an understated design. It also appears to be pretty robust with no sign of wear after nearly a months solid use 24/7.Sleep tracking, my main interest from the ring, appears to work well with some interesting insights in the Samsung health app. I'm not sure how much "use" some of the details about blood oxygen and skin temperature are, but they are interesting to look through. There has also been a good correlation between nights where I have not slept well and woke up feeling groggy with the ring showing issues in my sleep (awake time, not enough deep sleep etc). More than anything though I've definitely found that since having the ring I am more conscious of trying to get good quality sleep.Step and activity tracking is super handy to be able to track all the time without needing to wear other devices like a watch. One small issue is that I'm not yet convinced though that the workout tracking works perfectly. I have not always seen "walking" workouts be auto-detected reliably. Finally in the last couple of days the software upgrade has enabled gesture control on my Samsung Ultra S24. While it only supports alarm cancellation and taking a picture, these are suprisingly convenient.Overall, it's a good device in an excellent form factor and offers an interesting insight into sleep and activity. I'm not sure it's something to use though, if perfect activity tracking accuracy is what you need.
The Samsung Galaxy Ring is a great addition to the Samsung lineup. It has an attractive design, cool health tracking features, and long battery life. As someone who has used several competitor smart rings over the years, I am really excited to see Samsung enter the smart ring space.• Packaging – The ring comes in an appropriately sized box which is easy to open and without excessive packaging. As someone who has used several competitor smart rings over the years, I am really excited to see Samsung enter the smart ring space.• Packaging – The ring comes in an appropriately sized box which is easy to open and without excessive packaging. Included is the ring, charging cradle, charging cord, and quick start guide.• Design – The ring comes in 3 different colors: titanium silver, titanium gold, and titanium black. I received the titanium black and it looks fantastic with a matte finish. My only concern is how well the finish will hold up with long-term usage during weightlifting and outdoor activities like hiking/rock climbing. It is only 2.6 mm thick and is quite lightweight, weighing only 2.3 grams. This is very close to the thickness of my wedding band and surprisingly “much” lighter which is pretty amazing given the several sensors and battery that are built into the ring. In the next iteration, I would like to see some online only Samsung exclusive colors like they do with their phones as well as the option to have it engraved.• Charger and battery life – The charging cradle is significantly ahead of the competition. It has a modern premium design with a LED light that lets you know how far along the ring is in its charging cycle. One of my favorite things about the charging cradle is that it can be completely closed over the ring during charging and does not need to be connected to an outlet. This allows for convenient on the go charging where I can put the ring in the charger and throw it in my backpack without having to worry about losing it. It takes about 80 minutes to fully charge the ring with the ring battery reportedly lasting up to 7 days. My ring came fully charged and lasted about 6 days before needing to be put in the charging cradle; although, it still had remaining battery left and likely would have made it close to another day before completely running out of battery. Despite the charging cradle being 361 mAh, it only has enough battery to fully charge the ring one time bringing the total usage time up to 14 days before needing to plug the cradle into an outlet. Overall, for Samsung’s first attempt at a smart ring I am impressed with its battery life.• Fit – Request a ring sizing kit (currently free on the Samsung store website) or be fitted in select stores (my local Best Buy had a full sizing kit available on display). Samsung recommends wearing the device on the index finger for optimal sensor performance and accuracy, but I opted for my ring finger as I found it to be more comfortable. The sizing kit sample ring size matched the size of my wedding band, so I felt confident going ahead and ordering the ring immediately instead of wearing it for the recommended 24 hours. Samsung does specifically state that their sizing differs from regular ring sizes, but I didn’t find that to be the case. When I put on the actual ring, it fits perfectly and is comfortable. It is snug enough to stay on but not too tight that I can’t get it off. It is important to note that the ring has a mark on it for which side should face the palm of your hand for the most accurate sensor readings.• App/Data – The ring easily paired with my Samsung Z Fold 6 and showed up in the Samsung Health/Wearable apps. It tracks various health data and provides daily insights such as energy score, sleep score, and heart rate. This information can be found in the health app. For example, my most recent sleep time average was reported as excellent. If I want additional information regarding this insight I can click on the arrow and it will take me to a new page within the app with more in-depth information. I have had a few erroneous readings like a heart rate of 210 in the middle of the night but overall the data has been consistent with other fitness devices I use.• Subscription – THERE IS NO MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION WHICH IS A HUGE SELLING POINT! While this ring may be slightly more expensive than several of its competitors, there is no ongoing monthly fee to be able to see/access your own data. I would never consider purchasing a ring that required me to pay to access my own data so A+ to Samsung for not locking features behind a paywall.I think Samsung did a great job designing its first smart ring. I have enjoyed using it and find the health information/insights it provides to be beneficial in my fitness and overall health goals. Recommend!
This doubles as a charging cradle and on the go charger for the ring, due to its built in battery. The main features are of course the health information that is tracked by the ring - primarily activity, heart rate and sleep.Sleep tracking seems to be quite accurate, although I'll need to track it over a longer period to get some practical insights.Heart rate tracking is displayed in graphs with Min/Max per hour as well as a rolling daily resting average. This is all tied together through an "Energy Score" which takes in all of the tracked metrics and gives suggestions based on this (e.g. "Don't overdo it!" which I received the day after a long run). This also highlights areas that require attention (sleep, recent activity etc)Unfortunately some of the gesture features that I have looked forward to (tap index finger and thumb together to take photo or cancel an alarm) are not yet supported on my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra phone, but this is expected to be added in the next software update (One UI 6.1.1 ).So far I'm really impressed by the ring and am looking forward to getting some more insights into my current sleep and activity habits. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who likes to track these sorts of things, but perhaps doesn't want to wear a smart watch all of the time.
The Samsung Galaxy ring is a great addition to my health monitoring toolset. I took up an interest in the Galaxy Ring because I do not like wearing my Galaxy Watch 4 while I sleep and it is too difficult anyway because it does not stay charged long enough. My impressions of the Galaxy Ring are pretty good. The battery life seems to last about a week which makes it ideal to wear while sleeping. Speaking of the sleep tracking feature it is very comprehensive. So much so in fact there is a lot of learning and reading involved to truly get a good understanding of all the factors that affect your sleep. The Galaxy Ring records your sleep time and evaluates your Physical recovery by monitoring your sleep cycles like deep sleep and Restfulness factor which tracks how much of the time you are actually sleeping during the night. Charts with a line graph are included with Awake, Rem Light and Deep to indicate how your night was. Sleep score factors also include Mental recovery and your sleep cycles as well which all factor into the total analysis. Sleep time is also a factor and too much sleep is also not good apparently. There is also a very comprehensive sleep stage chart with a color-coded graph and below that a chart indicating the time you spent in each cycle broken down into percentages for each one. The Galaxy Ring also keeps track of your Blood Oxygen during sleep which is very important and can indicate whether or not you may need to contact a physician and possibly get a sleep study to check for sleep apnea. It also tracks snoring which can also be a symptom of sleep apnea. Two additional items that are tracked while sleeping are Skin temperature and Heart rate. The skin temperature feature can be used by females to to help them time their menstrual cycle. The Heart rate and Respiratory rate are also important factors in getting an overall picture of your health and can indicate issues that may be present. The Galaxy Ring has far more features regarding sleep tracking than my watch and once I get a good understanding of how it all works together to give me a good picture of my situation I believe it will be a very useful tool. TBed/wake time consistency and sleep timing. Your energy score also includes your daily activity level from the previous day. Your Galaxy ring will also measure your heart rate via your phone on demand and at regular intervals throughout the day. However, it only derives the results from this if you are not wearing a Galaxy watch which actually means your watch is not actively connected to your phone. If you are someone that does not like wearing a watch or someone who likes wearing traditional watches but still wants to track your health the Galaxy Ring is a great option and I am very impressed by this first-generation product. You can tell that Samsung put a lot of time and effort into this product it shows by how much detail is given in the tracking parameters. The battery life is very good and the ring is definitely more comfortable to wear than a watch which makes it easy to keep on all of the time. Oh and it is completely waterproof of course because I guess it has to be right. If you are a person interested in an unobtrusive way to monitor a wide array of your health parameters the Galaxy Ring is definitely.
I enjoy having the luxury of wearing automatic timepieces from time to time. Now they just sit in a case somewhere in my closet because I continue to think the value of smart watches and the info they provide, outweigh the standard automatic. I rely on smartwatches for how they are able to tell me what's going on in my own body. Fortunately, I now have a reason to wear those other watches, for now the Samsung Galaxy Ring does it all in a much smaller, and longer lasting package. The Galaxy Ring is far better at concealing its smart features than a watch. It looks like a piece of jewelry and is virtually indistinguishable from a standard ring, especially if you opt for the silver or gold finish. Once ordered, I received a sizing kit that came in a Galaxy Ring style case. The sizing rings looked so identical, I thought they'd sent me actual Rings to try on and presumably return the rest, great option to have if you want to feel the way they wear. The Galaxy ring came shortly after and looked like the same plastic rings from the sizing kit, though it's in fact made of titanium which is a lightweight indestructible metal. The battery is located on the back half and the 3 sensors on the front with a line centered on the outside of the ring to let you know whether you have the sensors in the right place on your finger, with the sensors toward the inside of your hand. I managed to get a full week of use before it reached 10% and needed a recharge in the case, which itself holds enough energy for 2 recharges. The case is beautiful in and of itself. It looks like clear faceted crystal, with a ring light on the interior where the ring lies showing power level of the case. The button on the center can either recall the power level or turn on Bluetooth pairing mode. The ring takes a little getting used to if you plan on wearing it on a finger that never held a ring on it. After a couple of days wearing it on my right ring finger, I switched it to the left sitting atop my wedding ring, where it felt much better.I was truly surprised at the level of depth and richness of information the ring is able to capture from 3 tiny sensors, it literally put the watch to shame. I was actually a little worried about how much of that info would be accessible to me not having a Samsung phone. My Moto was allowed full access to all features in the Samsung health app. The app shows an energy score and sleep score with information it gathers from measuring your sleep time consistency, bed/wake time consistency, heart rate and heart rate value. You get a detailed chart of each variable, including skin temp and respiratory rate during sleep. You can grant access to your phone's microphone so it can alert you of when you snore. I don't sleep with my phone at my bedside, so I didn't try that feature. The sleep score details length, quality based on the body's ability of physical and mental recovery, including your overall restfulness. All data is accompanied with line graph displays highlighting the part of focus. The health app is considerably more useful than any other smartwatch app I've tried in the past, including how to help you lose weight, inputting food values, water intake, medication times etc. It even offers workout routines you commit to and carry out during the course of the week.I love the idea of having everything I need unassumingly perched on my finger. Well, almost everything I need; would be nice if there was a way to get notifications on it without looking at my phone. Then it would truly be a smartwatch replacement. If you're planning on getting a smartwatch or other ring to be health conscious, then I would highly suggest the Galaxy Ring if you have an Android phone.
