Samsung Galaxy SmartTag Bluetooth Item Finder and Key Finder

This little gadget is brilliant. It is the cheapest car tracker, key finder, luggage finder ever! The best thing is that you don’t have to connect it up to a 12v car battery, nor do you need to install a SIM card in it. Buyers should be aware that this tag only works with Samsung phone through it’s Smart Things app. Not only can your Samsung phone find anything attached to this smart tag. The smart tag itself can find your Samsung phone. The app will give you a geographic location and as you get closer the signal will get closer. When you get close enough for a strong signal, just press the alarm button and the smart tag will make a sound telling you precisely where it is.

Added Comfort and Peace of Mind

Purchased originally for a trip, adding one to each checked airline luggage. With all the negative comments about air travel, felt we should try to reduce issues. No issues with airline or misplaced luggage. Although it is a bluetooth tag, one has to understand it reaches further. It uses other Galaxy phones to ping, outside the bluetooth range.Easy to set up with SmartThings App on Samsung. So after our initial vacation, I have one tag in my New Driver's car so I know where my teenager travels. The tags are now in our vehicles, in the case they are stolen, a common trend in our neighborhood.I am considering buying more for tagging power tools, e-bikes, etc..

As described

Purchased this to throw into luggage for an upcoming trip. I understand that it will need to ping off any nearby Samsung product but didn't want to pay for a subscription for a GPS product. Threw this tag into wife's purse (with her knowledge of course) to conduct a trial run. Wife has a Samsung phone. While she was at work, the tracking app indicated where she was supposed to be and that it was pinging off one Samsung phone (I presume her phone). Then on her way back, the tracker indicated her location (matched the location tracker of our Tesla). It stated that it was pinging off one phone (again, I presume it's my wife's phone). So here's hoping that should my luggage get lost or stolen, the theif or whoever is standing close to the bag has a Samsung product.

Better than expected

I was a little reluctant to buy these because they're limited to Samsung devices and I was concerned that they may not have the best connectivity out in the wild. The number of times these things ping off other phones is amazing, and put my concerns completely away. These aren't your basic tracker, these have a button which gives them quite a bit of functionality for automation or back and forth communication.Pros-Very well connected in the wild-Button can help to find your phone-Button can turn on/off smart devices-Button can alert family/friends to emergencies-Button feature has one click, two click, and hold option, giving 3 functions per tag-Setup was seamless, install app, click button once to start process, click button again to complete process-App ... MoreI was a little reluctant to buy these because they're limited to Samsung devices and I was concerned that they may not have the best connectivity out in the wild. Great device with great support

I'm using it to track my keys constantly. Battery life depends on the surrounding temperature but in most cases, it works for roughly 6 months. Keep an eye on your devices and track them regularly. I have tags on all my keys and even in my bike. One time i tracked my car keys (inside my car) to a local garage because the insurance company didn't want to tell me where it was.Me and a friend decided to test how quick it will find a tag in area with not so many people around it. It took 15mins to locate the tag . The technology is the same as inside the Samsung Phone. I used the same one to find my Samsung phone lost 15km away from me and located by other Samsung device.Even tracked a colleague as a prank. It will be great to be a little bit smaller so i can put ... MoreI'm using it to track my keys constantly. Great product, shady Samsung business practice

Galaxy Smart Tags are superior to Tiles and Apple tags, I have used them all. Where Samsung really fails is at producing enough products for consumers to purchase. Samsung advertises Smart tags but they are always sold out. Samsung puts the Smart tags on sale and yet has sold out the product before they sale. Samsung boasts of new cases for the Samsung Flip 4 and yet they too are allegedly sold out even though we purchased the phone via Samsung Canada they very day the sold them. Shame on Samsung for doing this to customers.

Not Working Tag

If there was minus 5 rating then this tag would deserve it. I bought 1 to test before I wanted to order 4. I got it on sale but please do not waste energy buying this tag. Battery replacement is one of the worst designs. First tag I received did not work. Then worked with customer service and got a replacement. Same story!I was a Galaxy S / Note User and also bought tab and book360. But experience with this smart tag has got me thinking whether building into samsung ecosystem makes sense?Samsung should recall all these tags from all the owners and give them some meaningful designed smart tag.

So far much better than the apple airtag

I bought this on sale (19.99) and put a case on it. Attached it to my autistic son's necklace and it updates much more often than the apple one. My son is a escape artist even with all the locks/precautions i have taken. So far I haven't had to use it to track him when he escapes, but it also lets me see where his day program takes him and how long before he will be home. It was recommended by our behavioral consultant, and so far im very pleased with it. He showers with it and wears it night and day without any problems so far. Not tried swimming yet but we will see. I hope they make a truly waterproof one next.

This producted saved me!

Purchased two Galaxy SmartTag on the Black Friday campaign and it was probably one of my best buys during 2022. Because yesterday I lost my keys while biking to the store. I went back to the place the app said I had lost the keys but could not find them. A few hours later I got a notification that the tag had connected to another Samsung unit and the location was an apartment complex near where the app said the I had lost them. Went there and walked outside and got a signal.I called up an apartment on the intercom outside and explain the case and was let in by the old lady that had answer. Inside the staircase in the building the signal got stronger. Went up to the second floor and now it was much stronger. Tried walk up to the third floor but it got weaker so now ... MorePurchased two Galaxy SmartTag on the Black Friday campaign and it was probably one of my best buys during 2022. Tried walk up to the third floor but it got weaker so now I know that the keys was in an apartment on the second floor. Hold the phone near the doors and the one furthers away had the strongest signal.Rang the door bell and no one opened fast enough, so I pressed the "Call" button in the app and could here the tag beeping inside the apartment and a guy shouted he will come in just a minute. He opened the door with my keys in his hand. Anxiety has turned into total happiness. Neither he or his girlfriend had a Samsung phone so it had probably connected to a neighbors phone.Amazing product!

Works with Galaxy tablets too, great for luggage

Something the reviews on the SmartTag don't mention is this tag works with any Galaxy device, tablets too, not just Galaxy phones. I have a Google Pixel phone and a Galaxy S7 FE tablet. I connected the tag to the Galaxy tablet. Two presse of the button on the tag, once to start the SmartThings app, second to register the tag to the tablet. That was it.Note the location of the SmartTag only shows up in the SmartThings app running on a Galaxy device. Samsung has it's FindMyMobile site but that shows the location of only my tablet, not the SmartTags. When the tag is in a bag or luggage far away and out of BlueTooth range of your phone or tablet, Samsung uses other people's Galaxy devices to detect the SmartTag and anonymously report the location (of the Galaxy device) to Samsung. So wherever there are people in the world with Galaxy devices online, your tag will be detected and the location reported back to your Galaxy phone or tablet. I will use the tags in luggage.
