All of Samsung's previous smaller tablets have always had quite serious trade - offs, maybe aimed at kids? either the screen resolution was just a little too blocky, or the speed was a bit too slow and lagging. You can get a smaller tablet from Apple with all the bells and whistles but it costs a lot. I was always frustrated that Samsung hadn't made a decent smaller tablet that wasn't just an under-performing afterthought aimed at children.Samsung have now finally made a very respectable smaller tablet, the Tab A9 is an excellent size for those who don't want a big tablet, its great for portability and those who do a lot on the move. The speed is fine with no noticeable lagging (i got the 8gb/128gb version), muti-tasking is pretty good, so this tablet can actually ... The speed is fine with no noticeable lagging (i got the 8gb/128gb version), muti-tasking is pretty good, so this tablet can actually be used for productivity and doing work on the go, unlike previous ~8in models. The display is good as you'd expect from Samsung, and even though the display specs aren't massively different from previous 8in models the display is actually fairly sharp for text, and more than satisfactory for watching film and TV, I'd even say impressive. The build quality is excellent, it has a strong, modern and premium feel and look to it, I actually feel like I'm using a large premium phone rather than a small tablet.Overall Samsung has finally put some serious effort in doing what they do best, into making a decent smaller tablet. It shows how far technology has come in 2023 when a good company like Samsung can produce a product like this at this price.

Good value for the price. Battery lasts at least two days on heavy use (videos and browsing about 3-4 hours/day) and about 3 days on regular use. Screen is bright and big enough, sound is surprisingle good with 4 mini speakers. The tablet is very light at about 1lb. Thre connectivty (both wi-fi and blutooth) is very good and stable.I'm a fan of Android One (Google OTB user interface, no customisations) aso I took the time to remove the Samsung user interface (Samsung One UI) and some of their apps, using the equivalent from Google. This version (128Gb disk, 8 Gb Ram, Qualcom octa-core) works very smooth for all the apps I've tried so far. I have not tested the camera / video. The specs are not like the S9 (fully featured, frills +) the only thing I would liek to ... MoreGood value for the price. Good replacement for the 8" tab S2 LTE. I can't say the screen is so crystal clear as the one 7 years old. The viewing angle is more precise. Will be the pixel technology being used in this. The failure of manufactures to make 4x3 screens these days lead to a search as many to find a replacement for the trusty 8" tab S2. This model you gain 1/2" in height, loose 1/2" in width held in portrait mode. Pump up the Samsung keyboard to maximum size of letters and its starting to resemble the Tab S2 in use with a similar sized visual experience on the keyboard. The new Android you soon get use to although I have a bigger tablet with that on it so was use to it. There appeared to be a bug after the upgrade to Android 14 which is well reported across boards over the months that Android 14 upgrade came out. You do another software update after the first. Might take a day to come through. Lack of notification sounds as I recall. Oh there is another software upgrade waiting... did the trick. Something to look out for. Notification sounds returned. Similar to Microsoft you get the package update and then a known bug fix after.Migration using the Samsung software over wifi worked well taking taking apps not in the Playstore plus directories. Email was configured but if you use customised sounds for incoming emails you do need to set them back up again. Bluetooth connections in the car etc need to be restored.Fast tablet compared to the tab S2 where apps were out growing the memory and developers were dropping Android 7 off so apps couldn't be updated and we're also blocked if you didnt update the firmware that you couldn't in anycase. Getting beyond a joke on the old tablet. Sanity now restored on the app front. Some older nitch software a bit of searching did find new software updates. Ezshare wifi SD camera card. Some fumbling with Chinese screens on that got it working. Release 5 of that to support the Chinese Market. Pleased about that one since I keep my Panasonic bridge camera 10 years old into the social media age with a discontinued Ezshare wifi card, good price at the time.Built in camera quality is good on the tablet. If you like large phablet devices, a bit bigger than the phone "phablets" which are now regular mobiles, then this is for you. Paper back sized screen for reading rather than massive 10 / 11 " tablets and the weight or mobiles that are too small. The beauty of 8" or 8.5" tablets in this case. Easy to carry in a shoulder bag.

I have a Tab S8+ but it's too big for me to cart around if I want to take a tablet with me when I leave the house. So I decided on this tablet even though it isn't much smaller than my other tablet. However it's an improvement in that regard.I would much prefer the A9 8.7 inch tablet with 8gb of RAM and 128gb of storage. Unfortunately Samsung has not released this tablet for the North American market. Why remains a mystery. Now the A9+ is a really solid performer that surprisingly has a really good looking screen resolution even though it is not AMOLED. My eyes adjust quickly between my tablets' different resolutions. The tablet is fast when using mobile browser. And battery life is good. I watched Oppenheimer in HD at 1080p and used minimal battery. I won't put a number on it because everyone's tablet usage is different among other factors. The 90hz refresh rate makes scrolling and moving between applications feel smooth. While the quad Dolby Atmos speakers sound excellent. Movies have vibrant colours.I'm really impressed with the A9+ when I compare its price point and performance versus my S8+ on the same points. I just wish the smaller version was available in Canada. If it was I'd buy it as well.I can't speak to gaming.
Important please read! The tablet is actually pretty decent. 8gb ram and has good performance. The MAJOR issue is when gaming. Its impossible to play games on this device as when you use 2 fingers it stops recognising touch. ( imagine left thumb using a virtual joystick to run and right thumb to pan/tilt camera, as soon as you try it stops responding) Samsung really need to address this issue as its a widely reported problem. The tech guy I spoke to on the phone took remote access of my tablet and verified the issue. If your intention is just browsing the Web or watching movies then it's good.Samsung, you really need to listen to this review and get a fix (software update maybe?, Unless it's a major hardware fault). You will lose so many sales if you can't game ... Dear Samsung,I own three of your products, one of which is my Galaxy Tab A8 I'm writing this review about. I am a technology student and use my tablet to take notes in class. One of the many things I love about my tablet is how functional it is. The design of it is lightweight and compact making it easy to carry with me to class in my bag. This, along with the software/OS, is very clean and user friendly. I have everything right at my fingertips which makes it great for studying. I have some of the features available that I have on my S20 Ultra such as messaging and phone calls. I love the fact that I can transfer my notes to my phone using the Samsung Flow app. I also like the customization features, for example, that I can organize apps all in one place such as ... I don't have many complaints and would highly recommend it to anyone that needs a simplistic device for schoolwork or even just to browse the web.I am a faithful Samsung user and am proud to say that I will continue to buy more of your products in the future!
I always wanted a Tab S series tablet but my budget kept me from getting one. After my tablet's 10" screen cracked, I had to choose a replacement. And it was time. My old 10" tablet was stuck on Android 10! It is late 2023 and, as I kept looking for a decent replacement, I kept seeing hints about the Galaxy Tab A series coming out with a new model. As soon as it became available in the US I began to compare it to the Tab S series and it had most feature that I wanted, except S-Pen support. I saw the offer for a free tent case/cover/stand and I pulled the trigger.Once in my hands I had to test it with my previous tablet and it surpassed it everywhere except the sound. One thing that was surprizing was the connectivity. Along with my Galaxy Book2 and S22 Ultra it was a dream come true. The Tab 9+ has a beautiful 11" screen, 8Gb RAM, 128Gb storage, expandable to 1Tb using a microSD card. But the best value was DeX. I can have multiple Apps in their own window. Windows Phone Link opened a use case that I had been wanting for the longest: Run native Android Apps on my PC. I put Android on my 43" display and I can interact with it with my Windows keyboard and mouse. Listen to it on the full sound speakers connected to the display. I only hope I can add a S-Pen to this set up, but content creation possibilities just grew exponentially. Kudos to Samsung for bringing so many features to a midrange tablet. I can't wait to see what can be done with a Galaxy S series tablet.
Okay!! Sooo here is my review for Galaxy Tab A9+. Let me just say......I am absolutely obsessed with anything Samsung! BUT TO KICK THINGS OFF ,The gaming processor is insanely fast, and it effortlessly connects to all of my devices. Boom! The accessories that come with it, like the S Pen and attachable keypad, are out of this world. Like chic and stylish and highly functional. Connecting it to my TV is a breeze, thanks to advanced technology. In my opinion, Samsung is the unrivaled leader in Android devices. The Dex capability has transformed it into my personal home computer, and gaming on my tablet is simply mind-blowing. I use it to edit and record videos, and file sharing is effortless, especially with my incredible Samsung 22 ultra cam. I am head over heels in ... MoreOkay!! You truly comprehend our needs and desires.
I decided to replace my old Tab A 8 inch for more RAM and memory. Wasn't happy with the smaller Wi-Fi nly options so went for this larger 10.5 inch. I wish I would have paid more attention that it no longer has Fingerprint Recognition and now relies on Facial (plus traditional keypad). The facial is a little finicky to operate and there is a constant reminder I have the display in a mode to light up my face (which cuts into battery life). Once I use Facial to log in, I am stuck with multiple applications (especially password manager) that used to accept simple fingerprint to open. Now I need to wake up the digital keypad and enter the pin for all of those. In addition, the commands in the Taskbar are now tiny little icons for Back, Home Screen, etc. at the very ... I really enjoy my Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 as a device I like to watch YouTube, Disney+ and Netflix on the good display. I also like to play my games on this device using Xbox Cloud along with a Xbox controller. I enjoy listening to music through the loud quad speakers, or headphones. I really like the fact that it still have an 3.5 Aux port for me to use my older headphones and earbuds with.Although I enjoy those things there is some holdbacks I wish to have to help me be more productive. I wish it can with a sPen, and Dex; also I do not enjoy the seemingly lack of years of updates for this device. If you are looking for these productive additions and good more longterm updates I recommend one of the Tab S series including FE. If you just looking for an media device ...
