Better still when I plugged it in, a screen notification appeared saying that a "fast charger" was in use. I didn't give up at this point however and scanned the battery settings that were available more closely. Lo and behold there was a "power-saving" setting which limited battery charge to 87%. If this is set and the "slow charger" is used even though the battery is only at the 87% mark it reads 100% and the beeping is suppressed.5) Finally I decided to try out the tablet's capability as a phone. I presumed all I needed to do was transfer my existing phone's SIM card to the tablet. But this turned out not to be the case. With the SIM card in, I was initially encouraged to see that the tablet seemed to establish contact with my provider (provider's name appeared in the top left corner of the screen). However a trial call to a contact failed due to something called "call and text on other devices" which was not set. This feature somehow syncs the tablet with a nearby (Samsung) phone. It is not clear whether both the tablet and the phone need a SIM card but they both need this feature set and in my case my phone (a J4+) does not support it. But the question is - If a device contains a SIM card and has an app called "Phone" and another called "Messages" why does it need T-Mobile and why can't it make calls and send messages all on its own?

I have been using this tablet for school task like accesing my work and taking classes online. I dont have to worry about disconnected lectures or dropped video calls due to the 5g network im in and the tablets features make working on it easy! Speaking of easy Galaxy AI makes it alot easier to do more than one thing at a time. I work on an essay and proofread it faster with Note assist!I also enjoy watching movies and anime on this tablet the video graphics make watching movies crisp and clear. Once again the 5g on this tablet helps remove latency or picture fuzz. It is very smooth and transitions without drag or even video errors.Battery is also worth mentioning. It will last me 8 to 10 hours depending on use but it also doesnt get hot.Overall I believe that this product is very good for work and play and would recommed it to anyone interested in owning a tablet for multiple use. Witg all the features included and the Galaxy AI doing school work and multi tasking has been made simpler.

All of Samsung's previous smaller tablets have always had quite serious trade - offs, maybe aimed at kids? either the screen resolution was just a little too blocky, or the speed was a bit too slow and lagging. You can get a smaller tablet from Apple with all the bells and whistles but it costs a lot. I was always frustrated that Samsung hadn't made a decent smaller tablet that wasn't just an under-performing afterthought aimed at children.Samsung have now finally made a very respectable smaller tablet, the Tab A9 is an excellent size for those who don't want a big tablet, its great for portability and those who do a lot on the move. The build quality is excellent, it has a strong, modern and premium feel and look to it, I actually feel like I'm using a large premium phone rather than a small tablet.Overall Samsung has finally put some serious effort in doing what they do best, into making a decent smaller tablet. It shows how far technology has come in 2023 when a good company like Samsung can produce a product like this at this price.

I did notice a slight flicker on a page but that has since settled and think it might have been a network connection problem but it has righted it self and only lasted a short while I suppose like any device it takes a few days to really settle in. But over all this is a great device and I would recommend anyone thinking of buying one to go ahead. It slips neatly into my carry and fits neatly into your glove compartment. If you've a car that doesn't have satnav this is ideal with the correct holder to have as your removable auto driving aid with the right app.The battery life is good for the device yes you can get devices with longer battery life thus far so far so good.I do have a bug bear and it's not with the device it's with the sales guy. Not to be mistaken what a lovely day who made my shopping experience a bit fun, but it was coming to close of the day and I'd been in a little rush and amidst all that it was a long day he forgot to tell me that the charging cable in the boxed packaged didn't have a specific Samsung USB C plug, so bear in mind when purchasing that you might need to buy a plug as well. Fortunately for myself I had an adequate plug so everything went fine. Obviously I've not tried every thing on the device but what I have tried, email, social media, data transferring and making calls all seems fine. I've yet to check out the picture quality and photo editing but something tells me I won't be disappointed.

I like the unlimited scrolling when taking a screenshot, but you really can’t see the copied image unless you zoom. I like both Samsung & the other ‘a..tablet’. But, I like Samsung tablet because you can still expand the memory with a SD cards. I only buy tablets with cellular and the Samsung A9+ is a reasonable price…not too much where I worry about damaging it. Will be the pixel technology being used in this.The failure of manufactures to make 4x3 screens these days lead to a search as many to find a replacement for the trusty 8" tab S2. This model you gain 1/2" in height, loose 1/2" in width held in portrait mode. Pump up the Samsung keyboard to maximum size of letters and its starting to resemble the Tab S2 in use with a similar sized visual experience on the keyboard.The new Android you soon get use to although I have a bigger tablet with that on it so was use to it. Similar to Microsoft you get the package update and then a known bug fix after.Migration using the Samsung software over wifi worked well taking taking apps not in the Playstore plus directories. Email was configured but if you use customised sounds for incoming emails you do need to set them back up again. Bluetooth connections in the car etc need to be restored.Fast tablet compared to the tab S2 where apps were out growing the memory and developers were dropping Android 7 off so apps couldn't be updated and we're also blocked if you didnt update the firmware that you couldn't in anycase. Getting beyond a joke on the old tablet. Sanity now restored on the app front.Some older nitch software a bit of searching did find new software updates. Ezshare wifi SD camera card. Some fumbling with Chinese screens on that got it working. Release 5 of that to support the Chinese Market. Pleased about that one since I keep my Panasonic bridge camera 10 years old into the social media age with a discontinued Ezshare wifi card, good price at the time.Built in camera quality is good on the tablet.If you like large phablet devices, a bit bigger than the phone "phablets" which are now regular mobiles, then this is for you. Paper back sized screen for reading rather than massive 10 / 11 " tablets and the weight or mobiles that are too small. The beauty of 8" or 8.5" tablets in this case. Easy to carry in a shoulder bag.

Finally my age caught up to me and a phone screen is just not big enough for my eyes and the tremor I've developed means working with small electronics is difficult. I added the Galaxy Tab A9+ to my electronic collection. One word. AWESOME!It is so light! It doesn't add enough weight for me to even notice it when I carry it around. It helps to have a keyboard, although the touchscreen works very well, I prefer the keyboard to be honest.Would I recommend this tab to a friend or family? As an IT professional I'd ask what would they use it for, and if it's games and music apps or anything cpu intensive or having a butt-ton of apps, my answer would be to "buy the S8". If their use of the A8 would be on the lighter side of apps and performance, this A8 tab is a very good solution to that.

MoreI bought this tablet mainly to use as a e-reader - but with the option of using it to surf the net, access emails, watch stuff, listen to music etc.I was loooking for something bigger than a smartphone but not much bigger than the average hardback, and the Galaxy Tab A9 8.7 was one of the few that fit the bill.Although I have an arthritic condition that makes gripping stuff for extended periods of time painful, with some finesse (and changes of position) it's possible to use this tablet for a while without any serious discomfort - I read an early John Le Carre in one sitting!The screen is clear and bright, whilst navigation - at least at this early stage - is fast and responsive.The tablet seems able to display high quality video, and the audio is 'sound'.The 64GB capacity is more than enough for casual users - although the tablet comes with an SD slot to add capacity.Connecting to the internet was problem-free.As with most Android products it comes with a lot of software you may not have any use for, but this is easily removed/disabled as need be.All in all, for the price paid I have no hesitation in recommending it.

My old 10" tablet was stuck on Android 10! It is late 2023 and, as I kept looking for a decent replacement, I kept seeing hints about the Galaxy Tab A series coming out with a new model. As soon as it became available in the US I began to compare it to the Tab S series and it had most feature that I wanted, except S-Pen support. The Tab 9+ has a beautiful 11" screen, 8Gb RAM, 128Gb storage, expandable to 1Tb using a microSD card. But the best value was DeX. I can have multiple Apps in their own window. Windows Phone Link opened a use case that I had been wanting for the longest: Run native Android Apps on my PC. I put Android on my 43" display and I can interact with it with my Windows keyboard and mouse. Listen to it on the full sound speakers connected to the display. I only hope I can add a S-Pen to this set up, but content creation possibilities just grew exponentially. Kudos to Samsung for bringing so many features to a midrange tablet. I can't wait to see what can be done with a Galaxy S series tablet.
