Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e WiFi Only 64GB - Refurbished Excellent - Silver

My boyfriend got me this tablet last year for my birthday and it’s a really great tablet! The pixels are very nice, the battery life is long, and it performs like a dream! It’s a good alternative to the iPad if you are on a budget. The camera quality is good, but could be better. I don’t mind this because I use my tablet for school and other things. I never use the camera anyway. Great product!

Right, OK... here we go. The Samsung Tab S5e... well straight out of the box the device looks amazing. I picked up the silver model and it looks so sleek, with just metal and glass construction with no plastic to be seen. There is a ever so slightly weighty feel to the device that just makes it feel well built. Right staight to the most important part, The screen. The quality is phenomenal, every bit as good as other leading manufacturers (cough wink ipads cough), maybe even better in terms of color saturation. So if your someone who likes to watch Netflixs or use other streaming platforms to watch your content this device will not disappoint, even in a well lit room the amazingly bright 2560x1600 screen with adaptive brightness is a pleasant experience. OK so to the next important part of any tablet is the battery. Now at 7040mAh this battery is no slouch, it isn't the biggest battery but it's nowhere near the smallest. If you're a sort of person who regularly checks emails, looks on Facebook and Instagram and just uses your tablet for general this and that this battery is going to last you a long time. Samsung specify that this battery will last you 15 hours of video playback, but I'm pretty sure that you can make the battery last a lot longer if you setup your device right. If I can give you one quick example I was watching Netflix for about an hour and it only took off 4% of my battery with the adaptive brightness setting on. Speakers. The Samsung Tab s5e comes with four speakers one and each corner and the sound is by AKG. If I'm honest I was astonished by the sound that came from the small ish tablet, I was expecting a tinny kind of sound with no real base or depth... how wrong was I. If you were to lay this tablet flat on a table or desk I feel that the tablet actually channels the sound through the platform it's sat on and really and enriches the base notes of this tablet the same can be said if you were holding in your hands, the way that you hold the tablet really focuses the sound waves towards you and is a really pleasant experience. Memory and storage. So the Samsung Galaxy Tab s5e I purchased was the 4Gb of RAM and 64 Gb storage version, now Samsung do have one higher version which is the 6Gb of RAM 128gb storage. But it just depends on the size of your wallet. Now both devices come with an expandable storage slots on the side of the tablet would you use a small pin to open the tray, and both devices have a maximum storage expandability of 512gb. So grab yourself a micro SD card it's a must, then you'll have plenty of space to download a series or two off Netflix. Conclusion, for only owning this device for about 2-weeks I cannot fault it in anyway. I'm loving this thing, for the price it's an absolute bargain relative to its competition, the quality, feel and finish are easily equal to any Apple product. If your a Samsung fan and don't want to spend big money on an S6, get this - you won't be sorry.

Beautiful Tablet, now at Reduced Prices

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e is a beautiful tablet. I upgraded from a Tab S2, which is also a beautiful tablet, just a little dated. Despite having a larger screen, 10.5" verses 9.7", the S5e weighs only 11 grams more than the S2. It is extremely light for its size. The S5e also has a really gorgeous big screen. It's even a higher resolution than the S2. The S5e also has a significantly higher resolution than the S6 Lite, which I was also considering getting. I bought the S5e with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. They should last me for a while While not the newest or fastest, the processer in the S5e is fairly quick. My Tab S5e has already upgraded to Android 10 and I expect an upgrade to 11 fairly soon. My S2 toped out at Android 7. My Tab S5e has already upgraded to Android 10 and I expect an upgrade to 11 fairly soon. My S2 toped out at Android 7. One of the things that I look forward to using on the S5e is DeX, which allows the tablet to be used like a PC. I haven't taken the time to figure it out yet. There are, however, a few things that I liked better about the S2. One is its 5:4 screen ratio. This is more convenient for reading documents in portrait mode. The Tab S5e's 16:10screen is better for videos in horizon mode. I also miss the physical "Home" button of the S2. Unfortunately, no new tablet has a physical home button. :( The last thing I miss is that I can notuse the free mobile version of Microsoft Office on the S5e. I must use the online version or subscribe to Office 365, even though I own the full version of Office 2019 for my main computer. The maximum screen size for the free version is 10.1". I knew about these before I purchased my S5e. None were deal breakers.

Bought for the screen, not disappointed

I'm writing this review of my SM-T720 Tab S5e with keyboard cover in May 2020 and the S6 Lite has been available for a while now. Firstly, the screen is fantastic. It's a better screen than the S6 Lite. This one has the screen I like. It has four speakers and they actually sound okay, where the S6 Lite scales back to two speakers.DeX is a game changer for Android tablets, and I use it 99% of the time.I got it to take notes in business meetings, and I found it excellent for that use. The camera is fine, and multitasking with DeX works great.I've never used a Chromebook, and I always wondered why ChromeOS isn't the default tablet OS, but this Android with DeX cuts its place in my life. Business apps like Outlook, Teams, and Evernote allow resizing on the DeX desktop, which makes multitasking easy with those apps. Some other apps will not resize, but the business-essential ones mostly do resize. Of course, Chrome browser resizes, also.Dex is killer, and it blows the iPads out of the water if you want to use it with keyboard as a mini computer like I do with this S5e. The keyboard is not a full size one, but it is probably my favorite one of this size; I can touch type on it without any trouble.I guess I understand why this killer product was phased out of the catalog, since Samsung makes some convertible Chromebooks now. I still find it to be just a fantastic tablet, with my favorite apps, a great screen, and good sound.

Erratic and unstable with Wi-Fi

Many things on this tablet are great - display, battery life, high speed charging and fingerprint security. However 2 issues make it less usable than our old Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM-T550 and these make the tablet less reliable and enjoyable to use.1) Frequent freezing after carrying out upgrade to Android 10 meant I had to find out how to flush / clear / delete the system cache. Not an easy operation at first attempt but this has stopped it freezing. Only did this 3 days ago so I hope this is the solution.2) Very poor Wi-Fi connection resulting in dropped connections. We first noticed this when challenging each other to a game of Solitaire. Whilst the our old Tab A would always connect to the daily challenge the 5SE would tell me it had no internet connection. We first noticed this when challenging each other to a game of Solitaire. Whilst the our old Tab A would always connect to the daily challenge the 5SE would tell me it had no internet connection. A re-boot would always solve this but I decided to discuss the issue with John Lewis who to their credit did exchange it after the 30 day return option. However the replacement is just as bad and the Wi-Fi connection is always showing less bars than the Tab A.Putting my hand over the screen at the bottom LH corner when in landscape and the camera is on the left always reduces the reception by 1 or 2 bars. This is well documented on sammobile.com/2019/05/01/galaxy-tab-s5e-wi-fi-issue and concludes that this is a hardware issue not fixable with a software upgrade. So apart from that it is a good looking and usable tablet (when in in strong wi-fi area of house) and well done to John Lewis in supporting my initial exchange.5* to John Lewis but 0* for Samsung

Great Tablet! (Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e Wi-Fi & Cellular)

I purchased this Tablet back in March at the start of the pandemic for my Aunt, so that we could stay connected. I used click & collect with the purchase arriving on time & having been kept up to date during the shipping process. With my Aunt not having a Broadband connection or previous experience of Smart Phones/Tablets, I was apprehensive over which model to choose and how easy it would be to help her, should she run into technical issues using it. I needn't have worried!I chose the 4G Sim card enabled model, over getting a standard model, & getting a Pocket Hotspot. This way the Tablet always connects to Mobile Data without having to worry about Wi-Fi Passwords/ Reset Wi-Fi settings etc. After purchasing a Sim card it was time to setup the Tablet in readiness to send to my Aunt. From very first power on it was obvious how good this tablet is! Bear in mind this isn't the Samsung top end model, but it certainly has features that would make you think it could be! The screen image quality & sound is amazing! The Battery lasts well even when being used solely with mobile data & not Wi-Fi. It operates smoothly.Setup was easy & smooth. There are some neat features/settings like being able to lock the home screen icons, & change the volume control button operation to be media volume control only & not call volume. The last one being handy if the tablet isn't used for making or receiving calls. My Aunt loves the tablet, she has found it easy to use despite having no previous smart device knowledge. She has commented on the Smoothness and ease of use, & the amazing screen & sound quality. It's used mainly for Internet browsing/Radio Apps/YouTube/WhatsApp/Photo & video sharing. There haven't been any technical issues, all the Tablets software updates have run smoothly.I've only needed to use the remote connection App I pre installed a couple of times in the early days to step though some of the Tablets features with my Aunt. I'd envisaged needing to use this way more for helping with any tablet operation issues, but there haven't been any!I'll be soon looking to replace my tablet, & it will come as no surprise that the first place I'll be looking is John Lewis & the Samsung range :)

Great tablet overall and premium feel

Second time buying this tablet. Had one for about a year that I bought used on eBay and my mom's iPad was not able to update some apps so bought another one for her. It has a very good battery life, great amoled 10inch screen and a relatively thin bezel around it. The first one I got came with the oem keyboard, its a great add-on! I'm an android enthusiast but not a fan of google services and don't use too much apps, this tablet can run LineagesOs which gives it the latest android version, frequent updates and offers a decluttered and much faster experience with it too.

Review of Galaxy Tab S5e 10.5" Tablet - 128 GB, Black

Good Points: - Great Screen.- 6GB of RAM so very responsive: the sweet spot for RAM size vs performance - easily runs many apps without slowing down.- Great sound - good volume and the Dolby ATMOS does add an element of surround sound.- Very good battery life.- Is certified by Netflix so you can view HD Netflix videos directly in the Netflix app (a lot of tablets can only do SD videos in the Netflix app as they are not certified).- Can install additional MicroSD memory card if needed.- Can be (free) upgraded to Android 10 now and looking like it will probably get Android 11 eventually.- Samsung additions and interface customisations on the bare Android base but not over the top and doesn't affect performance.- If used with the seperate dock, it ... MoreGood Points: - Great Screen.- 6GB of RAM so very responsive: the sweet spot for RAM size vs performance - easily runs many apps without slowing down.- Great sound - good volume and the Dolby ATMOS does add an element of surround sound.- Very good battery life.- Is certified by Netflix so you can view HD Netflix videos directly in the Netflix app (a lot of tablets can only do SD videos in the Netflix app as they are not certified).- Can install additional MicroSD memory card if needed.- Can be (free) upgraded to Android 10 now and looking like it will probably get Android 11 eventually.- Samsung additions and interface customisations on the bare Android base but not over the top and doesn't affect performance.- If used with the seperate dock, it displays clock, notifications, weather, etc. and still responds to 'Hey Google' requests whilst charging - a little bit like an Amazon Show.- has a sort of laptop mode where you can use a mouse and keyboard and open multiple apps in their own windows. Can be useful if you want to do a small amount of email work, etc. without typing on the screen. Good if you are away and need to do a small amount of business work.- Best tablet I've owned.Improvement Points: - No Haptic feedback (vibration): only available on the LTE version.- No APTX HD Bluetooth sound codec: has APTX, LDAC and all the others you would expect just not APTX HD for some reason.- Speakers can get covered by your hands if holding landscape, affecting the sound.- Won't fit in the seperate charging dock with a case on (not even with Samsung's own case) - very poor design in that sense. A magnetic case makes a good compromise however as it can easily be slipped off to put tablet in the dock.- Qualcomm chipset can cope with very high speed charging (quick charge 4) but Samsung only allow quick charge 2 (9v@2A), the same as Samsung phones did 6 or 7 years ago.- higher price than budget tablets but better performance. Android really needs 4GB RAM to run smoothly and that's difficult to get on the budget tablets. 6GB works even better and gives room for upgrades which need more RAM.

Stand out tablet in speaker and weight department

I was looking for a reasonable powered tablet that would handle Zoom well. It also needed to be light weight for extended use in the hand while using library software to follow in 2-hour meetings. It does well on both counts. In fact, many others have commented on just how thin, and light this device is. It truly does impress. Something else that impresses is the sound quality & volume over the speakers. The sound is easy to listen to even if it is very coloured but on a device like this, I can forgive it as it isn't harsh even at high levels. Battery life seems good using as described above. The device was in perfect condition and well packed though without any original packing. It was A grade. The charger though was not the original high power one but a 1amp unit ... MoreI was looking for a reasonable powered tablet that would handle Zoom well. However still very happy with the price and quality of this device.

You'll love this sweet tablet

I have used this tablet now for a few months and I love it just as much as the day it arrived. In researching which device to buy, I was considering an ipad pro as I currently use an iphone, but, I decided on this tablet for a few different reasons; 1. The super AMOLED display; it is so bright and crisp and my expectations have only been exceeded in the time I have used it. I normally have the brightness set at less than 20% and when I use it outside I have no trouble at all viewing it. 2. The cost of this device is far cheaper than even the cheapest ipad pro. 3. The size of the 10.5 display is perfect for my needs (large usable screen but small and portable) and I love the fingerprint reader and the facial recognition software that very quickly and easily unlocks ... MoreI have used this tablet now for a few months and I love it just as much as the day it arrived. The battery lasts a good long time. I normally get at least 9-12 hours on a charge depending on what I am doing. 5. The memory is expandable (not so with an Apple) with the option to install up to a 512 micro SD card. That feature adds to the affordability again allowing me to be able to buy a device with only 64Gb hard drive, but have the ability to very simply and inexpensively bump up to a 512GB+ machine. It also has 4GB ram that gives me more than enough room to do anything I do with this device (I am not a gamer so I can't speak to that application, sorry). After three months of using this tablet I have found it to be so useful (after pairing it with a "Zagg Limitless" Bluetooth keyboard) that it has all but replaced my lap top. This device gives me such an enjoyable using experience that I have absolutely no regrets and I absolutely love this tablet. For me this was the best choice possible.
