Being an apple product user/supporter for most of my life, I've owned a few apple watches over the years. Though my earliest smart watch was a fit bit blaze... With that experience, I have to say I was extremely surprised by how much I like the Samsung Galaxy Watch! I don't quite know how I came across the listing, but I was drawn in by the circular design and conventional watch face appearance (which is totally customizable). It feels very well made and of high quality. As a refurbished piece, it's been amazingly trouble free, and arrived in excellent condition with the necessary cables and adapters to charge it. With the Samsun Galaxy Watch app, it was relatively easy to sync/pair with my iPhone. The battery life has so far been amazing, and I find myself enjoying ... My watch is getting long in the tooth now but has served me well. I've just accidentally put it through a washing machine cycle for the second time and it's still working fine, although it thinks I've been running for the last 34 minutes. It's bullet proof. It's spent the night at the bottom of a swimming pool. Its been submerged in puddles. It's been dropped countless times. Will be replacing it with another Samsung watch when it eventually meets a fate bad enough to end it's life. It's a cockroach that tells the time.

Excellent value, arrived on time and in perfect condition. Pretty straight forward to use. No issues between the watch and Samsung Wear. Tough, good looking and easy to use. All peachy. The only downside is Tizen. While perfectly functional for this particular watch, it's hard to put it aside Galaxy Watch 4 with Google OS and not see how it is already old. But at this price, for a watch of this generation, I still recommend. If you are looking for an excellent first smart watch at a reasonable price, it's a good one.

Previously having had a Samsung gear S2 I was worried that I wouldn't like the round screen as I had been a fan of using the qwerty keyboard to fire back quick texts. The Galaxy watch handles the lack of square screen will though with voice input for text and number style predictive text. The bezel works well for flicking functions and the wrist motion gesture for sealing the watch works well and keeps the battery life amazing. Was always used to charging a smartwatch every night, such makes a mockery of a sleep monitor but Galaxy Watch lasts for days and the magnetic wireless charger is superb instead of the old clip cradles. The great beat function is ok but when is a little finicky when it comes to wanting cleaned and when I'm sweating that's when I'd usually ... The great beat function is ok but when is a little finicky when it comes to wanting cleaned and when I'm sweating that's when I'd usually want to know my heart rate. Probably doesn't compare to a specialized sports tracker but it's decent and does pick up some activities automatically. Some apps that you'd assume would be there like timers and stopwatches need downloaded but are free and good. Watch faces for it look amazing and although playing with a few free ones just now I'm definitely going to buy some because they are beautifully designed. Took a few showers with it on so far and it's been fine and also no damage when worn to work as a plumber, although I do often keep it protected from scratches with the cut off wrist of an old work glove. Main bug bear is the lack of Google assistant and being stuck with Bixby as Bixby sucks. Hoping they can allow Google assistant on to it in the future as or would make a massive difference. Would have been nice to have the model with a stand alone sim, but couldn't wait for the release and it doesn't come up very often, maybe only when going for a run. The wireless duo is great and was something I planned to get for my new note 9, but was great to receive with the pre order of the watch. Really great actually, which leaves me charging two blue 9's and a watch at the same time, even though it's only every fourth or fifth night it would be on charge. Can't complain apart from the voice recognition not being Google, really great smartwatch but the Google thing makes me wish at times I had got an android wear OS but everything else including design is great. Would have thought I'd have been dying to get rid of the standard watch straps but they are pretty decent and comes with a spare.
I was bought the Samsung Watch as a gift and an upgrade after having the Samsung Gear Pro 2 watch for some time too. The gear pro 2 was great but had an issue with its battery life as it wouldn't last the day if you used some of the features it allowed, but besides that it only option a short time to recharge. However we decided to shuffle the watches in the family and allow me an upgrade for Christmas. The Samsung Watch is wonderful.... much much better battery life and some amazing features that you can use straight from the watch. Like being able to make a call or send a text message or reply to an email etc..directly from the watch. I love that you can change the watch face designs easily and there are some great options too to allow for moods or seasons. The ... Like being able to make a call or send a text message or reply to an email etc..directly from the watch. I love that you can change the watch face designs easily and there are some great options too to allow for moods or seasons. The battery lasts about 7 days in between charges dependant on how many of the features you use in a day.... the more you look and use the quicker the battery will drain, but so much better and with wireless charging an option it makes it an easy process. It has all the usual health monitoring features, which is great for me as I have an increased heart rate so we monitor it all the time.... I also like some of the extra features, like measuring your stress or mood or you can tag the point when your heart rate was low or increased and track your diet and activities as normal too which is good.I have two little niggles with this watch though .... one being that it's huge and quite heavy but in time I have become used to that part of it I suppose. But the second being that because of its size, I need to wear it slightly higher up my wrist/arm beyond the joint as I found that lower down, it would press into my hand making it sore and hurt like a bruise. With that then comes a slight problem of either having to wear the watch slightly tighter or higher, as I have found out that when sweaty for whatever reason... cooking, exercise or activity... the watch moves and can drop into the wrist joint making it awkward and irritating. So beyond that it's brilliant and I keep finding out new features out and other ways to use it..... thank you.
Bought this watch with the main goal to track my fitness. I loved how it looked and the big screen. When I received the watch it didn't disappoint it's a lovely design and the screen quality is just excellent you will not find a watch with a prettier display. The Samsung health app is great as well very clear and easy to use however the problems came when I decided to use other apps.I wanted Samsung health app to connect with my Strava. Very annoying to say the least.Spotify was another app I use a lot during my runs and again the app on the Samsung watch is just so glitchy sometimes it would work sometimes not. It would cut out during my workout which made me stop or lose my stride so I could sort it out.In the end I had enough and returned it and bought a Garmin vivoactive 4 which is faultless. The only thing is the screen is no where near as good as the Samsung but I can live with that.If you just want a fancy pretty smart watch then this is the one for you. If you want it for fitness tracking. Get a Garmin. Very poor advertising for Samsung because it really doesn't do fitness tracking with other apps very well at all.
I’ve always been sceptical about smart watches, they seemed a solution to a problem that no one had noticed they had and they required charging every day, daft idea. I do love gadgets though and I walk and exercise and quite like to know how I’m doing. I started to look at the watches available and what they offered. The Apple Watch is without question the best but I hate the look of it. The others all have issues, not one can match the functionality of the Apple. I looked at all the brands and would find one that seemed to offer most of what I wanted and then I’d find a problem with it. I looked at the Samsung active which seemed to be ‘the one’ but then noticed that the paint peels off and some of the features claimed don’t yet work. I settled on the Galaxy watch ... I looked at the Samsung active which seemed to be ‘the one’ but then noticed that the paint peels off and some of the features claimed don’t yet work. I settled on the Galaxy watch 46mm and I love it, it looks great, it does lots of things I never knew I wanted and I can change the look when I get bored with it. The battery lasts at least two days though in reality I simply put it on charge every night. The downsides, not many but it claims to be waterproof and then tells you it cant be used to dive or hold under water of a certain pressure, in other words it’s not really waterproof. I tried to buy a second charger but they are out of stock and when they are in stock they are hugely expensive. The charger uses mini usb where most Samsung phones use USB C.I tried to buy the watch at John Lewis, in store. They didn’t have one on display and it took me 10 minutes to find a member of staff to serve me. When I did she told me that they didn’t have one on display and opened a cabinet and pulled out a Tupperware box full of tatty looking watches which she rummaged through but couldn’t find the Samsung. I pointed out the Samsung watch boxes in the cabinet and she handed me one but when I queried whether it was the model I wanted she advised that she didn’t know and couldn’t open the box as it was sealed. I left and reserved the watch on my phone at Argos across the road and collected it 5 minutes later. How sad, J L really have lost the plot.
Good Points: The watch has fantastic battery life (now that I have finished the initial 'play' phase, I am easily getting 4 days life - as I type I am at midday on day 3 and the watch retains 40% battery). It is a great interface and has worked seamlessly with my Samsung phone, in particular the use of the rotating bezel is damn close to genius, it is really tactile and makes operating the watch a joy. The display is awesome, clear and doesn't smear anywhere as much as other popular brands (!) and the sound when taking and making calls, and listening to music is great. Calls are clear, reliable and have not dropped out once. I am particularly impressed that I get WhatsApp and Twitter alerts on the watch. Software was a concern when I was looking into a watch, but I have to say that whilst the selection isn't as broad,so far almost every App I have wanted has been found including maps, podcast, torch, spotify (which works very well) and YouTube. I have also used Samsung Pay, which works well. It could use a decent Golf App for on course, but that is being mighty picky! I am delighted with the third party strap and face selection, and am genuinely one very happy Samsung Galaxy owner.Improvement Points: The original strap is not brilliant, and I soon bought a new one (under £10) which is much better. I do wish that the watch had a more complete heart monitoring facility such as the ECG capability found in some other watches, although I have found the pulse rate tracker to be useful and accurate. Whilst I am happy with the App store, that doesn't mean that I wouldn't welcome a deeper selection of Apps!!
I purchased this watch from a well-known high street department store that offer a 2 year warranty (for what that's worth). After 9 months of ownership the watch stopped working. It would come on when placed on the charging dock but as soon as it was removed the screen would go black and the watch would be unresponsive. It sat on my bedside table for a couple of months and then I remembered about the 2 year warranty so I took it back to the store I purchased it from who then sent it to their engineers who reported the problem was water damage! I don't go swimming, I take showers as opposed to baths and I remove the watch when I do so. The only time the watch gets wet is when I'm at the gym, out in the rain or when I wash my hands after visiting the bathroom. Now, because the engineers are claiming water damage they refuse to honour the warranty. I can't help it but the cynic in me thinks it's a very convenient diagnosis to avoid having to honour the warranty? My advice, for what it's worth, would be to avoid this watch. It claims to be water resistant to 5 ATM's, when in my experience it appears not to be splash proof, perspiration proof or water resistant to the depth of a bathroom sink. If I could have given zero stars I would have because I think this is unacceptable on a product that's not exactly cheap from a large company like Samsung. The look and design is fantastic, but all that is superficial and not worth a jot if the watch stops working in less than a year because you may have washed your hands while wearing it.
I have owned my watch for a while now and have had the odd issues all of which I have resolved myself. However I am completely dissatisfied with the level of service I have recently received from samsung and their third party repair techs. My watch had never been in any form of water as I had been completely dubious of it malfunctioning as you here these stories. Any way whilst the phone had been resting for the evening I picked up.to look at the time and noticed a flickering on the left hand side of the screen from the 11 o'clock position down to say 7 o'clock. This I could only explain was similar to the matrix green lines.I have sent it off to be told I have liquid damage internally!!! Now this was a massive shock as mentioned previously it has never experienced any water apart from being on a sweaty wrist when working out. It has been cleaned and that is it.I have been informed it is out of warranty (convenient) as liquid damage doesn't get covered. The same also for dust damage. Now when the photos of my watch has been returned to me the inside looks as if it has sat at the bottom of a river for months on end. How is this so when the seal on the watch has never been broken nor has it had any dings or scrapes ever it is in mint condition.Long story short samsung refuse to repair or replace a faulty watch if has "liquid damage" yet professes to be able to be used in the pool and swimming. Seriously think long and hard before utilising this watch in this manner as it seems it certainly is not water resistant and your minuscule warranty bible will stilulate this also.Extremely disappointed and left with a fancy watch that is defunked with no resolution. Terrible customer service and really am in two minds to go back to the dreaded fruit provider as contract on phone is up. All I wanted was a replacement or repair but we are not good enough for that.Be warned people I feel underhand tactics have been had!!!!!Such a shame as I loved this watch and feel lost without it but it just seems as if we are not worth helping!!!
