The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is a top-of-the-line smartwatch that offers a range of impressive features for users. One of the most notable features is the device's advanced health tracking capabilities, which include an ECG monitor, blood pressure monitor, and a sleep tracker. In addition to its health tracking features, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 also offers a range of other useful features, such as the ability to make and receive calls and messages, stream music, and access a range of apps directly from the watch. The device also supports fast charging, so users can quickly top up the battery when needed. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-end smartwatch that offers advanced health tracking features and a range of other useful functions.

After debating how much I would benefit from a smart watch for a while I finally settled with the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. My primary use for it was as a consistent step tracker, so that I can accurately measure my activity with and without a phone. After using it for roughly a year however I have found more of the other features useful as well. The watch can remind me when I have been idle too long, serving as a passive reminder to stretch my legs and walk around to break up long sedentary moments. Notifications from my phone, near silent as they are, keep me alert to texts and calls. The heart rate, stress, and body composition functions have helped me pay closer attention to my overall health, and of course the step counting has become much much more accurate. ...Β MoreAfter debating how much I would benefit from a smart watch for a while I finally settled with the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. With brightness set to high and stress and heartrate sensors active, the battery life can fit around 2 days, and charges up relatively quickly. This has suited me just fine, as I just set it to charge overnight anyway. The proprietary charging puck is a little unfortunate, but it is what it is, and it's small and magnetic, so I can set it on metal and fairly easily slide the watch on. The customizability of the watch faces is great, the ecosystem of watch bands plentiful, and the rotating bezel is a favorite feature, providing a tactile and just plain entertaining way to navigate apps and control volume levels. The watch has held up to sand, water, and the dings perfectly fine, and I'm happy with it still.

It's OK but is disappointing for a couple of the main features. The number of watch faces it comes with is limited. You can use the Facer app to get more, although the watch forgets practically every morning the last watch face you used from Facer. This forces you to reset the face every day using your phone. I gave up trying to update it and defaulted to one of the watch faces that it comes with out of the box. It's too much of a pain to reset daily. The other feature I mainly use is for tracking stats such as distance, time, etc during walking / cardio. It's a nice feature *in theory* like Facer is for new watch faces. Like Facer, it also has a problem where it can be easily reset if you let the auto detection determine when you're working out or doing cardio. ...Β MoreIt's OK but is disappointing for a couple of the main features. Like Facer, it also has a problem where it can be easily reset if you let the auto detection determine when you're working out or doing cardio. Once auto detection is working, it can be overridden by pressing the "walk" button to begin counting your walk. This seems like a bug, since if you used auto detect to start monitoring your exercise then it shouldn't let you stop that by clicking the "walk" button. I think it would be better if it returned you to the current timer info screen instead. It feels confusing otherwise because once you have auto detection going there's no simple way to get back to the auto detection screen's face for displaying distance, time, calories, etc. I try to never use the auto detection feature as a result and always start my exercise by clicking the walk button. Overall, it has some nice functions mainly through extra apps you have to install, which wasn't a problem.

I purchased this watch as an upgrade to my Watch Active 2. In many ways this watch does represent a step up in function to my previous one. Overall, I do like the styling of the watch. The added features are great, and it's good to finally have a watch that has an OS that has a supported ecosystem (I'm looking at you, Galaxy Store). There are however some very large caveats to this watch. Wear OS, but... Don't expect full Google integration or app support just yet. You can do most things other Wear OS watches can, but there isn't Google Fit integration and the watch funnels all info to the Samsung Health app... and there is no way to sync between the two apps. This needs to be done both on the watch AND on all Samsung phones. Battery life Battery life on this watch ...Β MoreI purchased this watch as an upgrade to my Watch Active 2. This needs to be done both on the watch AND on all Samsung phones. Battery life Battery life on this watch is dismal. On my Watch Active 2 I could have constant HR and Stress monitoring on and it would last a whole day. With periodic monitoring the watch lasted 2 days. The Watch 4 won't last half a day with constant monitoring. You can only set the heart rate to periodic monitoring at the time of review and it still barely lasts a little over a day. I can't even sleep track without taking it off my wrist and slapping it on the charger for an hour. This watch is much much bigger than the Active 2, but the battery seems to be an afterthought. Size The Watch 4 is fairly tall. Expect to get it caught on clothes. I have a case around mine to keep it relatively scratch free as a necessity. Also, the metal that comes off the sides where the band attaches will snag everything with the sharp corners if like me you had to get a 3rd party strap. Still not a great strap The strap that came with my Watch 4 was still too short. The L/XL band was barely able to clasp on the last hole (it fit fine over my wrist, but Samsung needs to make the bands larger because you need to wear this higher on your wrist about an inch up from the wrist bone. The good - more features (body measurement) - Finally using Google Wear OS (can use Google App store) The bad - Battery life is a joke - Tall body and sharp metal edge to snag everything - Short strap - Samsung still omitting Google features and forcing you to use their apps
I received this product to review and I'm using it with a OnePlus (Android) phone. The watch comes nicely boxes with minimal packaging, it comes with a standard size strap and a charger. Set up was easy and it was working with my phone quickly (15 mins). The watch looks nice and more 'watch' like than an Apple watch because of its shape. It's fairly big on my wrist but it's not particularly heavy and it's relatively low profile so it's been comfortable. You can get a lot of different straps which change the look and feel of the watch quickly and by quite a lot - I changed the black to a white silicone as I wanted to use it for sports but you can also change to more traditional 'watch' straps. You can get a lot of different straps which change the look and feel of the watch quickly and by quite a lot - I changed the black to a white silicone as I wanted to use it for sports but you can also change to more traditional 'watch' straps. Google apps such as maps work well and there are a number of additional apps you can add. Maps turned out to be an easy way to walk somewhere I didn't know without needing to get my phone out. The screen is really clear meaning something which would often be fiddly on a watch works well. Samsung pay works fine (though I still find tilting my wrist a bit awkward!). Fitness tracking is good, it automatically picks up my commute walk and asks if I want it to be tracked. Some features only work with a Samsung phone - like full health monitoring but I didn't miss these. I would have used my Fitbit for sleep tracking but this is less comfortable with the Samsung (and battery life issue - see later!). Working out how to use it (like all smart watches) takes a bit of time - I'd let it give you the few second tutorial when it starts up as it gives you the basics quickly. You can make phone calls from the watch, useful if you are worried about falls. The downside is battery life. It lasts a day in reality so needs charging every night (takes 90 mins - 2 hrs). Day to day this is okay as I just put it on to charge with my phone but means I'm not using it for sleep tracking and when I do go away overnight it's another charger to pack as it needs it's own specific charger
I've had the watch a couple of days now, I've always used Samsung and their watches as I prefer them to other bands I've used. The set up was really simple (even my technophobe mum set hers up herself) I had it connected to my phone, my buds and all the apps I used etc within 10 mins. The design is a lot better than the previous model, I like the matt effect on the edge of the watch face, the strap again is silicone and very comfortable to wear. I like that the strap is interchangeable and I can use the straps that I already own too from my old watch (Galaxy active 2) which is fab as it means its not wasted money. Whist on the subject of my previous watch... Whist on the subject of my previous watch... I don't feel like much has changed in terms of what you can do on the watch, the health features are a little more smoother and the watch face appearance. But apart from that I've not noticed any major differences. The watch I'd great for being able to leave my phone in my handbag and view messages, take calls etc via the watch itself. The watch let's you change how the watch face appears so you can alter it to suit your outfit/strap/mood. The health features were what initially made me purchase my first Samsung watch, There's a stress/heart rate tracker which also gives you breathing techniques to help you relax. One of my previously most used features is the step counter... it's brilliant and definitely pushes me to do more steps each day. Buy now I have a baby who's still in a stroller, yesterday we went for a 3 hour walk but because hands are on the stroller the step counter barely recognised I'd walked a few hundred steps :( so I'm now looking for other ways to wear/put it to make it work whilst using the pram. The watch also comes in two sizes... i have large wrists so (luckily) have the larger model, ive included a picture for comparison on the watch on. All in all its a brilliant watch. I'd reccomend it to everyone.
I've been looking at getting a smartwatch for sometime so was thrilled to receive this watch. It comes with minimal packaging, with the watch, standard strap (S/M) & charger included. First impression is that the watch looks smart and not as chunky as some smartwatches can be. It is also very light & feels good quality. I have the pink version which has a black glass face, rose gold surround & trim & a light dusky pink rubber strap. The strap is very soft & overall it is comfy to wear. The straps easily interchangeable should you want to purchase a different style of strap. I am using the watch connected to a Samsung S20, it was extremely easy to set up & pair with the watch with a set up guide as you turn it on. I am using the watch connected to a Samsung S20, it was extremely easy to set up & pair with the watch with a set up guide as you turn it on. Set up probably takes about 10 minutes then you could spend longer should you want to customize it further - either using the watch or the wearables app. Since wearing the watch I tend use it for overviewing emails, reading/replying to texts/whatsapp, answering calls & the health analysis. I tend to live with my phone on silent so love that I can get a silent notification on my wrist of incoming calls/messages. It's great to answer calls if your phone is in your bag or in another room. The health analysis has made me so much more aware of my steps, heart rate etc. I go to the gym frequently, using the watch enables me to track my workout, heart rate, calories burnt etc. It's amazing how much it encourages you to get your daily steps in or activity time! It is also fully waterproof, should you want to analyze your swim. It really is a smart piece of kit and can be used with Samsung pay, clocks, reminders, timers, music - using built in speakers or connected with bluetooth speakers and other health analysis. The only negative would be the battery life, in general it lasts about a day & a half - but it does charge relatively fast.
Hereβs what Samsung do not want you to knowβ¦. I had high hopes when buying a top brand watch but found that even the best of the biggest Mobile (cell) phone makers can make mistakes. I rarely write reviews but I am so disappointed that I wanted to share this with everyone so they do not make the same mistake that I did when buying this watch. I bought the Samsung Watch4 LTE 4G with the intention of using it to talk to people while running or just when you donβt want the bulk of carrying your mobile (Cell) phone. You have everything on your arm including google pay etc. How wrong could I be. The problem with all this fancy tech in a little watch is inevitably the battery, it is this that is the big issue. I had high hopes when buying a top brand watch but found that even the best of the biggest Mobile (cell) phone makers can make mistakes. Now I like to talk, but if you think you may get more than 60 mins talk time from your watch spread over 10 hours you wonβt. You will be lucky if the watch will last more than 12 hours without making any calls at all while connected to LTE (4G) The battery drains while connected to a mobile network is just too much for this watch to handle. Also, this is what Samsung do not want you to know. If you live in an area with low mobile (cell) signal then your watch will overheat trying to amplify the signal. This means you will get at best 2 mins worth of conversation before the watch shuts down due to overheating. Samsung are aware of this situation but is powerless to do anything about it and in truth does not want you to know! So, if you want a watch thatβs smart and are happy to charge it up twice a day so you can use all the features then this would be OK. If you want to use it instead of a mobile (cell) phone then look elsewhere as this watch is useless with the battery life it offers. Seriously useless! You also only find out how bad this watch is after starting a phone esim plan so you can make calls and then you are tied to a network for 12 months that youβll never use due to how incompetent the watch is at making calls. Also note itβs an esim. ie digital β no physical sim to add or remove. I even tried to use the watch on the charger to talk longer and even the charger could not cope with the drain on the battery and inevitably after some long telephone calls the watch died after 2 hours of use. I honestly do not think there is anything wrong with the watch as other people have had the same experience, its obviously a design fault and an oversite by Samsung to make the watch perform longer on the very small battery that it squeezes into this watch. I hope this review helps people to make a choice when looking at this watch as an option of a standalone mobile (cell) phone. Watch maybe, cell phone definitely not!
I was never a fan of smart watches before. I was a tradionalist. I liked the look of traditional watches. It was more than a timepiece-- it was something that also talked about who you were -- a fasion statement. I never decided to to walk because of how many steps I had, etc. I had an early fit bit, but stopped using it after a couple months. Fast forward a decade and WOW. I don't have to take my phone out to pay or to answer phone calls. I can still read texts even if I don't have my phone on me. I can easily find my phone if I forgot where I put (not as much of a problem for me, but a game changer for my wife). The classic has the feel of a traditional watch with the benefits of modern tech. I can easily find my phone if I forgot where I put (not as much of a problem for me, but a game changer for my wife). The classic has the feel of a traditional watch with the benefits of modern tech. The health tracking is a bonus. The BMI measurement and activity tracking and the integration with daily calorie use are far more useful than "steps" alone. I even don't mind the battery that only lasts a couple days -- I charge it when I am getting ready in the morning and it goes from usually about 35% to 75% which is all I use during the day (for those who are concerned about lithium battery longevity, 25% to75% is the best operating range anyway) even with stress and Sleep monitoring/oximetry active. I only wish the interbeat heart rate variability data was available separately and not just integrated to the stress reading. That measurement was one of best at measuring cardiac heath risk and is now only becoming practical with wearables (although I do worry with all wearables that the surrogate measurements may not always be accurate in some people whether HRV or sleep)
I received the Bluetooth version of this watch, and have been using it for a few weeks. There is also a 4G version of it. The watch comes nicely presented in a white box, and includes a proprietary magnetic USB charging pad, so you'll need a charging block to plug this into in order to charge the watch. Charging takes 90 minutes with my charger, and a full charge lasts ~2 days (though I've not used it for intensive fitness tracking). Battery life is the only downside of this watch for me, though this may be normal for smart watches. I've been using this watch with a Samsung Galaxy S10 - It is not compatible with iPhone. There is also a 4G version of it. The watch comes nicely presented in a white box, and includes a proprietary magnetic USB charging pad, so you'll need a charging block to plug this into in order to charge the watch. There are certain features that only work with Samsung phones - such as full health tracking (heart rate monitor, blood oxygen level, sleep quality, stress, and body composition). Unless you're really into monitoring your fitness, this is unlikely to be an issue - I find basic fitness tracking (steps etc) is perfect for my needs. The watch is comfortable to wear, though I find the rubber strap can get a little bit sweaty (which may be partly due to the UK 2022 Jul/Aug heatwave). This may not be an issue if you are a regular smart watch wearer already. Before starting the watch for the first time, I'd recommend installing Samsung's 'Galaxy Wearable' app and ensuring that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. On starting the watch, it walks you though the Bluetooth pairing process, and then gives a brief interactive demo of how to use the watch (Mostly swiping left/right/up/down to access different feature areas, and is definitely worth paying attention to). The app allows you to configure your watch - lots of different faces etc., as well as specifying the apps you wish to use. Other than phone and Messages, I regularly use Spotify and Samsung Pay (as it's more convenient than using the phone). I find this watch a very user-friendly piece of tech. If you're happy to charge it every day or two, I'd definitely recommend it.
