A great watch with tons of options but the battery could be better.

I absolutely love almost everything about this watch. Almost being the battery life. The watch does everything I need it to do and then some. I do wish the United States would allow it to take blood pressure readings like it does in other countries because it is capable to do so. This watch can take a ECG and you can save it to share or show to your doctor later. The sleep sensors and oxygen sensors are spot on. It also does your body composition. There's tons of apps for this watch there's almost nothing that you can't do that you would want to with a watch. The only downside I could find (and it's really not that big of a deal) is the battery life. The fact that it's water resistant is a bonus. There's tons of watch faces many of those are interactive and customizable. If I were to ask for the most perfect possible wearable device... This watch would definitely be it but again with the exception of the battery life. The Galaxy watch 3 had a better battery life but it uses a different operating system that I fear will become outdated in the near future. Wear OS will likely be around for a very long time. Several other makers use Wear OS in my opinion it's just as good as the Apple watch. Most of my family prefers Apple and the Apple watch product line and I'll admit there's nothing wrong with that but a decent modern Samsung phone paired with a Galaxy watch... That's just really hard to beat.

The watch can remind me when I have been idle too long, serving as a passive reminder to stretch my legs and walk around to break up long sedentary moments. This has suited me just fine, as I just set it to charge overnight anyway. The proprietary charging puck is a little unfortunate, but it is what it is, and it's small and magnetic, so I can set it on metal and fairly easily slide the watch on.The customizability of the watch faces is great, the ecosystem of watch bands plentiful, and the rotating bezel is a favorite feature, providing a tactile and just plain entertaining way to navigate apps and control volume levels. The watch has held up to sand, water, and the dings perfectly fine, and I'm happy with it still.

Average in the main features it's used for
2 June 2022

It's OK but is disappointing for a couple of the main features. The number of watch faces it comes with is limited. You can use the Facer app to get more, although the watch forgets practically every morning the last watch face you used from Facer. This forces you to reset the face every day using your phone. I gave up trying to update it and defaulted to one of the watch faces that it comes with out of the box. It's too much of a pain to reset daily. The other feature I mainly use is for tracking stats such as distance, time, etc during walking / cardio. It's a nice feature *in theory* like Facer is for new watch faces. Like Facer, it also has a problem where it can be easily reset if you let the auto detection determine when you're working out or doing cardio. ... MoreIt's OK but is disappointing for a couple of the main features. It's a nice feature *in theory* like Facer is for new watch faces. Like Facer, it also has a problem where it can be easily reset if you let the auto detection determine when you're working out or doing cardio. Once auto detection is working, it can be overridden by pressing the "walk" button to begin counting your walk. This seems like a bug, since if you used auto detect to start monitoring your exercise then it shouldn't let you stop that by clicking the "walk" button. I think it would be better if it returned you to the current timer info screen instead. It feels confusing otherwise because once you have auto detection going there's no simple way to get back to the auto detection screen's face for displaying distance, time, calories, etc. I try to never use the auto detection feature as a result and always start my exercise by clicking the walk button. Overall, it has some nice functions mainly through extra apps you have to install, which wasn't a problem.

Decent, don't trust in water, battery frustrating
8 February 2023

It does almost everything it promises. The 3-press SOS is nice but too easy to trigger. Bear in mind that getting the eSim activated is incredibly difficult, most phone companies don't support it yet, and even if they do it's a costly add on, so until eSims are more common I would recommend the normal version. The battery life is 1-2 days, 1 day if you have all the features enabled, 2 days (3 at best) if you turn off almost everything but Bluetooth and the watch face. Speakers are surprisingly powerful for a tiny watch.I used this watch because I decided to take up swimming, and it was supposed to be safe to use in water, which is nice because its difficult to bring your phone with you when you swim. Speakers are surprisingly powerful for a tiny watch.I used this watch because I decided to take up swimming, and it was supposed to be safe to use in water, which is nice because its difficult to bring your phone with you when you swim. However, the screen died - even though I was only ever at the surface (no pressure), and washed it with fresh chlorine-free water after every swim, used the water mode and water-ejection from the speakers. But it still broke, and was a bit of a pain to try and get fixed - however they did not make me pay for it, which was very good. I would recommend a screen protector because dogs/children/clumsiness will most definitely scratch the screen at some point during the watch's lifetime. Overall, I somewhat regret this purchase - I can't use the eSim, the battery is too frusting to constantly charge, and I'm too scared to swim with it anymore. But it does have a nice oxygen tracker that can be very reassuring (or not) during a Covid infection.

I received this product to review and I'm using it with a OnePlus (Android) phone. The watch comes nicely boxes with minimal packaging, it comes with a standard size strap and a charger.Set up was easy and it was working with my phone quickly (15 mins). The watch looks nice and more 'watch' like than an Apple watch because of its shape. Maps turned out to be an easy way to walk somewhere I didn't know without needing to get my phone out. The screen is really clear meaning something which would often be fiddly on a watch works well.Samsung pay works fine (though I still find tilting my wrist a bit awkward!). Fitness tracking is good, it automatically picks up my commute walk and asks if I want it to be tracked. Some features only work with a Samsung phone - like full health monitoring but I didn't miss these.I would have used my Fitbit for sleep tracking but this is less comfortable with the Samsung (and battery life issue - see later!).Working out how to use it (like all smart watches) takes a bit of time - I'd let it give you the few second tutorial when it starts up as it gives you the basics quickly. You can make phone calls from the watch, useful if you are worried about falls. The downside is battery life. It lasts a day in reality so needs charging every night (takes 90 mins - 2 hrs). Day to day this is okay as I just put it on to charge with my phone but means I'm not using it for sleep tracking and when I do go away overnight it's another charger to pack as it needs it's own specific charger

Great Smart watch, does everything you need
23 August 2022

I've had the watch a couple of days now, I've always used Samsung and their watches as I prefer them to other bands I've used. The set up was really simple (even my technophobe mum set hers up herself) I had it connected to my phone, my buds and all the apps I used etc within 10 mins. The design is a lot better than the previous model, I like the matt effect on the edge of the watch face, the strap again is silicone and very comfortable to wear. I like that the strap is interchangeable and I can use the straps that I already own too from my old watch (Galaxy active 2) which is fab as it means its not wasted money. Whist on the subject of my previous watch... I don't feel like much has changed in terms of what you can do on the watch, the health features are a little ... MoreI've had the watch a couple of days now, I've always used Samsung and their watches as I prefer them to other bands I've used. I don't feel like much has changed in terms of what you can do on the watch, the health features are a little more smoother and the watch face appearance. But apart from that I've not noticed any major differences. The watch I'd great for being able to leave my phone in my handbag and view messages, take calls etc via the watch itself. The watch let's you change how the watch face appears so you can alter it to suit your outfit/strap/mood. The health features were what initially made me purchase my first Samsung watch, There's a stress/heart rate tracker which also gives you breathing techniques to help you relax. One of my previously most used features is the step counter... it's brilliant and definitely pushes me to do more steps each day. Buy now I have a baby who's still in a stroller, yesterday we went for a 3 hour walk but because hands are on the stroller the step counter barely recognised I'd walked a few hundred steps :( so I'm now looking for other ways to wear/put it to make it work whilst using the pram. The watch also comes in two sizes... i have large wrists so (luckily) have the larger model, ive included a picture for comparison on the watch on. All in all its a brilliant watch. I'd reccomend it to everyone.

Great smartwatch, perfect accessory for Samsung phone!

I've been looking at getting a smartwatch for sometime so was thrilled to receive this watch. It comes with minimal packaging, with the watch, standard strap (S/M) & charger included. First impression is that the watch looks smart and not as chunky as some smartwatches can be. It is also very light & feels good quality. I have the pink version which has a black glass face, rose gold surround & trim & a light dusky pink rubber strap. The strap is very soft & overall it is comfy to wear. The straps easily interchangeable should you want to purchase a different style of strap.I am using the watch connected to a Samsung S20, it was extremely easy to set up & pair with the watch with a set up guide as you turn it on. Set up probably takes about 10 minutes then you could spend longer should you want to customize it further - either using the watch or the wearables app.Since wearing the watch I tend use it for overviewing emails, reading/replying to texts/whatsapp, answering calls & the health analysis. I tend to live with my phone on silent so love that I can get a silent notification on my wrist of incoming calls/messages. It's great to answer calls if your phone is in your bag or in another room. The health analysis has made me so much more aware of my steps, heart rate etc. I go to the gym frequently, using the watch enables me to track my workout, heart rate, calories burnt etc. It's amazing how much it encourages you to get your daily steps in or activity time! It is also fully waterproof, should you want to analyze your swim.It really is a smart piece of kit and can be used with Samsung pay, clocks, reminders, timers, music - using built in speakers or connected with bluetooth speakers and other health analysis. The only negative would be the battery life, in general it lasts about a day & a half - but it does charge relatively fast.

I was never a fan of smart watches before. I was a tradionalist. I liked the look of traditional watches. It was more than a timepiece-- it was something that also talked about who you were -- a fasion statement. I never decided to to walk because of how many steps I had, etc. I had an early fit bit, but stopped using it after a couple months. Fast forward a decade and WOW. I don't have to take my phone out to pay or to answer phone calls. I can still read texts even if I don't have my phone on me. I can easily find my phone if I forgot where I put (not as much of a problem for me, but a game changer for my wife). The classic has the feel of a traditional watch with the benefits of modern tech. The health tracking is a bonus. The BMI measurement and activity tracking and the integration with daily calorie use are far more useful than "steps" alone. I even don't mind the battery that only lasts a couple days -- I charge it when I am getting ready in the morning and it goes from usually about 35% to 75% which is all I use during the day (for those who are concerned about lithium battery longevity, 25% to75% is the best operating range anyway) even with stress and Sleep monitoring/oximetry active.I only wish the interbeat heart rate variability data was available separately and not just integrated to the stress reading. That measurement was one of best at measuring cardiac heath risk and is now only becoming practical with wearables (although I do worry with all wearables that the surrogate measurements may not always be accurate in some people whether HRV or sleep)

Very useful and easy-to-use piece of technology.

I received the Bluetooth version of this watch, and have been using it for a few weeks. There is also a 4G version of it.The watch comes nicely presented in a white box, and includes a proprietary magnetic USB charging pad, so you'll need a charging block to plug this into in order to charge the watch. Charging takes 90 minutes with my charger, and a full charge lasts ~2 days (though I've not used it for intensive fitness tracking). There are certain features that only work with Samsung phones - such as full health tracking (heart rate monitor, blood oxygen level, sleep quality, stress, and body composition). Unless you're really into monitoring your fitness, this is unlikely to be an issue - I find basic fitness tracking (steps etc) is perfect for my needs. The watch is comfortable to wear, though I find the rubber strap can get a little bit sweaty (which may be partly due to the UK 2022 Jul/Aug heatwave). This may not be an issue if you are a regular smart watch wearer already. Before starting the watch for the first time, I'd recommend installing Samsung's 'Galaxy Wearable' app and ensuring that Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. On starting the watch, it walks you though the Bluetooth pairing process, and then gives a brief interactive demo of how to use the watch (Mostly swiping left/right/up/down to access different feature areas, and is definitely worth paying attention to).The app allows you to configure your watch - lots of different faces etc., as well as specifying the apps you wish to use. Other than phone and Messages, I regularly use Spotify and Samsung Pay (as it's more convenient than using the phone).I find this watch a very user-friendly piece of tech. If you're happy to charge it every day or two, I'd definitely recommend it.
