Other brands only offered 'quick replies'. Samsung's is great with multiple inputs available like a full keyboard or voice input.- functionality on basic activity tracking looks good. I've had a friend say it lines up fairly well on steps/distance/heartrate with her treadmill measurements- more apps than I could imagine - this is basically a smartphone on your wristCons- large, sporty design. The 40mm is large as an everyday watch but there are cool watch faces to customize and I'm planning on buying a different strap (not silicone) to tone down the style. I wish there was another option that would suit my everyday professional attire and for going out that didn't scream smartwatch/activity tracker- battery life is awful, but expected. As I'd like to wear this consistently for activity and sleep tracking it's annoying to need to charge everyday. It does charge quickly though in approx an hr and is ultimately expected with the constant phone connection/apps/gps/bluetooth etc.

You have to repeatedly menu select to move between keyboards, which is laborious when entering a secure password of mixed alphanumeric and special characters. The advantage of wearability is to gather data on the move, and knowing your O2 while active is valuable. Stopping an activity to take an ekg is reasonable but for O2? The watch has to be at a location on your wrist which suits the watch, not necessarily where you wear it. You have to hold steady while the O2 is measured, elbow on desk and watch near your heart. Repeat the readings 10 times in a row and they are erratic...the heart rate was consistent but the O2 varied from 92-99% on back-back measurements with no movement. If you have a finger free while working out you can take O2 readings with a $20 EMO-60 oximeter which records to phone via bluetooth. It is sad that the Galaxy6 cannot perform as well.- If my phone was Samsung it might have connected.- If my passwords were less complex, the keyboard switching would not have been as onerous.- The watch has impressive capabilities, but it is not for everyone.

No more having to set multiple alarms, allowing me to sleep better and longer.Overall, I would recommend anyone that is looking for a smart watch to give the Galaxy Watch 6 a try as it makes things more convenient and is very useful. It can be had at a great price during different promotions, but is still a good value at its normal price.

Has way too many issues and Samsung doesn't care
17 January 2024

I pre-ordered the GW6 before it came out, so I've had it for a while now. It's had a ton of issues since I got it, but I thought they would be resolved after a few months since most new products come with bugs that take some time to be ironed out. However, not only has Samsung not fixed any of the problems the watch has, but they've introduced more than it came with. What's worse is they chose to sell this device with major bugs despite knowing ahead of time about them. In addition, they knew one of their updates introduced a huge issue and instead of fixing it or stopping the update from rolling out they forced everyone to install the update in order to continue using their watch. In addition, they knew one of their updates introduced a huge issue and instead of fixing it or stopping the update from rolling out they forced everyone to install the update in order to continue using their watch. I keep sending in bug reports and Samsung usually either ignores them or tries to make up reasons why I'm at fault for them when I've found numerous other people online reporting the same exact issue and Samsung's made up reasons why I'm at fault aren't even true. The battery on the watch is terrible and even though I'm using a stock watch face and don't have AOD on I'm still only getting a few more than 24 hours maximum. It's been that way since I got it even though I read that the battery life would improve after a couple of weeks of usage. In addition, even though it's their newest watch, Samsung updates all their older watches before the Galaxy Watch 6 and will even leave bugs on the GW6 while fixing the same exact bugs on their older watches. If you want to get a smart watch I recommend getting pretty much any watch other than the Galaxy Watch 6. It's riddled with problems and Samsung doesn't seem like they plan to fix any of them any time soon if they even decide to ever fix them at all.

I love this watch
29 July 2024

I use the galaxy watch everyday and I absolutely love it. I mainly got it for tracking my sleep, but now I use it for other things too.For sleep, it tracks how many hours I slept, my temperature, if I snored or not, and it even tries to help me get a better sleep score. It has really helped me out.Another thing I use my watch for is for tracking my steps and workouts. I can see my goals for steps, activity calories, and activity time, and it helps me stay active and on track. It tells me to stand up if I have been sitting for too long, which I love because I do tend to be lazy sometimes. As for workouts, I usually do walking or treadmill and it tracks how long the workout it, how many calories, my average and max pace, and my personal favorite...my heart rate. ... MoreI use the galaxy watch everyday and I absolutely love it. I get reminders to drink water every two hours, which I desperately need and love. I can measure my heart rate, my stress level, my blood oxygen, and even my skeletal muscle and body fat. It helps me keep track, and ever since using it, I'm getting much closer to my goal. The watch is comfortable and the battery lasts all day. I use it all night, then all day, and charge it after my daily workout before bed and it's a perfect routine. I love the feel of the watch, and it’s easy to get to know how the watch works.Overall, I love this watch.

Really good range of features and fairly accurate vitals tracking. It seems to be quite a powerful device, it can handle searches on the internet, quick downloads of apps and streaming songs and audiobooks. It can connect to other Bluetooth devices like speakers, voice assistant devices so you don't even need to use your phone although this does drain the battery quickly. it's quite easy to navigate. Set up was quite easy, however I had to do a factory reset after the first set up as my watch didn't recognise that I'd already paired it with my phone. But the second time was fine. It does have some lagging and glitches but this usually only occurs when I haven't restarted the device in a while. Unfortunately smart watches have a long way to go but this is still one ... MoreReally good range of features and fairly accurate vitals tracking. It does have some lagging and glitches but this usually only occurs when I haven't restarted the device in a while. Unfortunately smart watches have a long way to go but this is still one of the best available right now and other smart watches suffer with similar issues. Battery life is about 1-1.5 days which isn't great but I was aware of this before I bought it and it's not an issue for me especially considering the device can do almost anything my phone can. Charging is quite slow and the device can get quite hot. I like the range of settings and customisation available although some features are quite hidden. I don't like the Bixby voice assistant so I downloaded Google Assistant instead and it was easy to set up and set it as my preferred assistant. Unfortunately there's a lot of pre installed apps you can't uninstall which is so frustrating when I never use them or when I use an alternative app and it takes up quite a lot of space on the device. There is still a reasonable amount of space left for other things though. the range of apps is quite good, there's a few apps I use on my phone that I would've liked to have on my watch but it's not a major issue and I know it's usually because the software isn't compatible or the developer simply hasn't made a Wear OS version of the app yet. Sometimes downloads fail for no apparent reason, restarting the watch or trying again later usually works. I was pleasantly surprised that I could use the bezel navigation feature despite not having the watch 6 classic (which has the physical bezel). It's a bit awkward at times but it's still useful.

Who's brilliant idea was it to have the watch auto update at 4am and buzz next to your head with every app it started to download and then again when it was finished?Just one of several below average features since upgrading my from my Galaxy 3.The media control screen opening every time my phone watches something might seem helpful, but it can't tell when I've paused a pop up ad on a webpage, and it's stops being cute when you have to press the cancel button 2-3 times to get out of it.The weather app tells me today's weather, and yesterday's weather, but not tomorrow's weather. Why would I need to check my watch for yesterday's weather Samsung?Chock full off goodies like a blood pressure monitor that has yet to be accurate and claims to be no way legally ... MoreWho's brilliant idea was it to have the watch auto update at 4am and buzz next to your head with every app it started to download and then again when it was finished?Just one of several below average features since upgrading my from my Galaxy 3.The media control screen opening every time my phone watches something might seem helpful, but it can't tell when I've paused a pop up ad on a webpage, and it's stops being cute when you have to press the cancel button 2-3 times to get out of it.The weather app tells me today's weather, and yesterday's weather, but not tomorrow's weather. Why would I need to check my watch for yesterday's weather Samsung?Chock full off goodies like a blood pressure monitor that has yet to be accurate and claims to be no way legally binding - why on earth would you bother adding a feature that you cannot rely on, especially one that could have serious health ramifications for people?!?Also a sleep app that gives me less information about my sleep patterns than a pokemon game. The pretty finish was gorgeous for about 3 days before standard wear and tear damaged the straight edges on the screen; something that was cleanly hidden with a bezel and now stands out in stark contrast.I don't know what this watch is meant to offer over the one I was wearing 5 years ago. It has all the vibes of a Facebook update - it adds new features we don't really want, it takes away features we use every day, and we are unable to customise that unless it's profitable to the company

Works fine with GrapheneOS
12 August 2024

I purchased this with a significant discount, as it was an open box item. Item was mint with box and charger. I own an iphone and Apple watch, but am evaluating switching to a de-googled Android platform. I set up a Pixel 7 with GrapheneOS and I’m liking it, but I missed the Apple watch experience, so that’s why I decided to try the Samsung Galaxy 6. I was skeptical of getting it to work with GrapheneOS, but with some web searches, I was able to get the watch set up using my GrapheneOS phone. I was pleasantly surprised how much functionality I got without having the watch being linked to a Samsung or Google account. Everything works for me other than the Samsung Wallet and the Health Monitoring app. The base Health app works fine with GrapheneOS, so the only ... MoreI purchased this with a significant discount, as it was an open box item. I was pleasantly surprised how much functionality I got without having the watch being linked to a Samsung or Google account. Everything works for me other than the Samsung Wallet and the Health Monitoring app. The base Health app works fine with GrapheneOS, so the only advanced health feature I can’t use is ECG and blood pressure monitoring, as this requires the Health Monitoring app which is only available on Samsung phones. I did have to log into a Samsung account on my phone the set up the Health app on my phone, but I never had to link the actual watch to a Samsung account. As soon as I had the Health app set up on my phone, I was able to disable Samsung cloud syncing, and for extra assurance, I removed network permissions for the app in the GrapheneOS settings.I do miss having a Signal companion app (the Apple watch had the companion app, WearOS does not), as Signal is my main messaging app. Overall, I’m glad I made this purchase.
