I waited for the disconcerting hinge-gap issues to be addressed and some form of stylus to be provided before seriously looking at getting a Fold ... and well, wow, it has turned out to be so well worth it; now established as a serious piece of art-tech, and the actual folding really an experience all it's own, the Fold5 is an amazing new step for enjoying digital media in an oh-so tuck-able form on the go. I really had been expecting something bulkier, but no, this feels darn good to hold and small enough to easily pocket. Open-screen time is a little better 6hrs, and there are far too many really cool features to list in this space - just take my word: the Fold5 should not disappoint ANYONE!My only real complaint would be the short-comings of the stylus; ... MoreI waited for the disconcerting hinge-gap issues to be addressed and some form of stylus to be provided before seriously looking at getting a Fold ... and well, wow, it has turned out to be so well worth it; now established as a serious piece of art-tech, and the actual folding really an experience all it's own, the Fold5 is an amazing new step for enjoying digital media in an oh-so tuck-able form on the go. Do that and the Fold can be amazingly perfect. It's good, so much so that I am actually surprised as well as impressed.I am very happy with the phone as much the experience, managed to scoop a couple of premium deals and got a very sweet price on phone, case and Samsung care, so have to admit I am quite impressed and very happy with my new tech,- thanks Samsung, good stuff and looking very good today -d(-_-)b

Thanks to that new hinge, Samsung has managed to get rid of the gap between the screen halves while also decreasing its overall thickness to 13.5mm. Best phone yet!!
29 August 2023

This innovative device has truly brought a new level of convenience to my daily life. First and foremost, the compact design is a game-changer. As I use my phone to pay in store, and use it as a key to my car, I don't need to carry anything but my mobile phone (and my trusty lip gloss). The Flip5 effortlessly fits in my pocket, making it incredibly easy to carry around wherever I go. This is a feature I never knew I needed until now.The front screen functionality is another standout feature. The ability to use the front screen to read notifications, open apps (spotify, youtube, maps), set alarms, make calls, and so much more without having to open the phone is so cool and convenient. But what I find even more impressive are the different settings you can change ... MoreThis innovative device has truly brought a new level of convenience to my daily life. The ability to use the front screen to read notifications, open apps (spotify, youtube, maps), set alarms, make calls, and so much more without having to open the phone is so cool and convenient. But what I find even more impressive are the different settings you can change for the front screen. I have made it that if I answer my phone without opening it, it will be on speaker, but as soon as I open my phone, it changes to normal mode. Small things but love the uniqueness.I was a little sceptical coming from the S22 Ultra and know that the flip is not in the same category, but the battery life is impressive considering it is running an extra screen, the sounds is great and everyday apps work perfectly. While I really liked my S22 Ultra, the Flip5 has won me over and become my top choice.Overall, the Galaxy Flip5 has undoubtedly added a new layer of practicality to my smartphone experience. Its ability to slip into my pocket without any hassle and the added advantages of the front screen make it a standout choice for those who value both convenience and functionality in their devices. If you're looking for a phone that effortlessly combines portability and usability, the Galaxy Flip 5 is definitely worth considering.

CAN'T RECOMMEND!

This is a powerhouse multitasking titan. Its great that there is flexibility on how you can use this device which is excellent as each screens has it own use purpose, eg answering text and calls with outside screen and consuming social media with the inside folding screen. The fold is amazing as it turns into a phone and a small tablet. Cameras are great but should be s23 ultra quality. Sound and battery are also great too. It can get quite loud at max volume with no distortion and the battery can last up to a whole day of usage which is good for me as Im a heavy user (alot of youtube, streaming music, light gaming, alot of web browsing and social media and also Bluetooth paired to samsung watch)However i cannot recommend this device unless you have alot of money ... MoreThis is a powerhouse multitasking titan. It can get quite loud at max volume with no distortion and the battery can last up to a whole day of usage which is good for me as Im a heavy user (alot of youtube, streaming music, light gaming, alot of web browsing and social media and also Bluetooth paired to samsung watch)However i cannot recommend this device unless you have alot of money to spend and you absolutely must need the feel to own and experience a folding device or a tech enthusiast. The user experience is way too different/difficult for casual consumers as everyone is already used to the topical phone slab design. Alot of people will find using the fold to be very inconsistent and inconvenient as the outer screen is very narrow, making it hard to use and read content on screen. It feels awkward and very inconvenient to have to use the folding screen to answer messages in the wrong place eg crowed areas and (hopefully not but driving)Furthermore the inside folding screen is very delicate and can be damaged easily if not looked after or used properly. I find myself having to be extremely careful when using this device before bed, watching youtube as i get anxious that i might fall asleep on the device, possibly breaking or damaging it.I feel that the fold is a very niche device making it extremly hard for casual consumers to fully utilise and enjoy this titan of a device. Furthermore the fold is too advanced and only the tech enthusiasts like myself will full understand and appreciate the device for what its for.Personally the narrow screen doesn't bother me as i have smaller hands. There are times with the occasional typo and misclicks but I can tolerate that. Overall excellent. Made using a mobile device fun and exciting again.

Disappointing Experience with the Samsung Fold 5

The device drains power faster than I expected, which is frustrating and inconvenient, especially for someone constantly on the go.Moreover, the camera quality on this device is far from what I anticipated. Given Samsung's reputation for producing exceptional camera systems, I was shocked by the subpar performance of the Galaxy Fold 5's cameras. The images lack the sharpness and detail that I had come to expect from a flagship device. Low-light situations are particularly disappointing, as noise and graininess often mar the photos. One of the most perplexing decisions by Samsung is the omission of the S Pen from the package. For a device at this price point, I would have assumed that the S Pen, a staple accessory for Samsung's Note series, would be included. Its absence not only feels like a missed opportunity for enhanced productivity but also adds an extra cost to an already expensive investment. In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 falls short of my expectations in multiple areas. The poor battery performance, disappointing camera quality, and the absence of the S Pen have all contributed to a less-than-satisfactory experience with this device. I had hoped for a seamless blend of innovation and functionality, but unfortunately, the Galaxy Fold 5 falls flat in delivering on these promises

The Gateway to Enhanced ProductivityThe Fold 5's unique folding design ushers in a new era of smartphone functionality. Opening up the device reveals an expansive canvas that transforms tasks into immersive experiences. Whether it's multitasking with multiple apps, viewing spreadsheets, or browsing documents, the larger screen real estate effortlessly accommodates these tasks. This unparalleled functionality ensures that the Fold 5 is more than just a smartphone; it's a portable workstation that lets you harness your productivity potential on the go.2. Gaming Bliss and Screen MajestyGaming aficionados will rejoice in the Fold 5's gaming prowess. The device's remarkable gaming performance is a testament to the technological leaps taken in its development. Its cutting-edge components deliver seamless gameplay, rendering graphics with impressive clarity and speed. The larger screen size adds a new dimension to gaming, allowing for an immersive experience that bridges the gap between mobile and console gaming. The Fold 5’s display isn’t just larger—it’s a canvas that envelops you in the virtual worlds you love.3. Battery Life: A Welcome UpgradeIn the realm of smartphones, battery life often dictates the overall user experience. The Fold 5 makes a notable leap forward in this regard. Compared to its predecessors, the improved battery life ensures that you can stay connected, productive, and entertained for extended periods. This advancement is particularly significant for users who rely heavily on their devices throughout the day, eliminating the nagging concern of a dying battery.4. Pricing RealitiesWhile the Fold 5 is a marvel of engineering and innovation, its price point remains a point of contention. The premium nature of the device, coupled with its revolutionary features, contributes to a higher cost. However, it's worth noting that this pricing might deter some potential buyers, particularly those who don't require the device's advanced capabilities to their fullest extent. For the average user, the cost could be a barrier to entry into this cutting-edge technology. In conclusion, the Fold 5 deftly intertwines advanced functionality with entertainment, creating a device that sets new standards for productivity and gaming. The expanded screen real estate revolutionizes how we engage with content and work-related tasks. The device’s gaming performance is nothing short of spectacular, providing an immersive gaming experience like no other. Coupled with improved battery life, the Fold 5 excels as an all-encompassing companion for modern life. However, it’s essential to acknowledge that this remarkable innovation comes at a cost. While the Fold 5's features and capabilities justify its premium pricing, it might not be within the reach of the average user, serving as a reminder that groundbreaking technology often comes at a premium. In the grand tapestry of technological progress, the Fold 5 undoubtedly shines as a brilliant thread. It is a glimpse into the future, a harbinger of what's possible when innovation meets user-centric design.

From the note 20 ultra it's worth the upgrade
21 August 2023

I upgrade to the fold 5 after my trusty note 20 ultra cracked the front screen and the repair cost just as much as a newish device.I am upset that there's no SD memory card support on the fold 5 but the 512gb storage is good enough so far.I see that outer screen is smaller than the n20u but the inner screen makes up for that. I got the case with spen and it works great but only on the inner screen and it doesn't have the Bluetooth connectivity like the n20u where you could use the spen to take pictures remotely. So far the battery life and processing power the fold5 has last me a whole day as a self proclaimed power user. I get about a good 12hour+ screen on time mixed between the inner and outer display. I get about a good 12hour+ screen on time mixed between the inner and outer display. I take it off the charger to head to work around 6am and I don't see my self charging it constantly like the n20u.The inner screen allows me to use the split screen apps as if they were full size on a regular phone. One app on either side. There's a few things that I'm still trying to customize to my muscle memory but I'm working on it.I noticed that some apps don't work on the inner screen as the inner screen puts them in a tablet like mode. Such as Amazon shows up with borders on the sides and some apps just shut down saying that they're not compatible until I only use them on the outer screen. The cameras are OK. They're not the ultra flagship super grand quality but they work and make acceptable pictures. This being my first foldable I do get looks.

Smooth, clean, sharp - Best folding phone
29 August 2023

Having bought this phone a month ago, I am thoroughly impressed with the practicality, appearance and the features of this phone.First off, the cover screen is amazing and extremely versatile:1. If you're into taking photos but you want to use the back camera, just use the cover screen to see what you look like on the other side. What's so practical about this is that you can use the higher quality image of the back camera - instead of the actual selfie camera - as your selfie camera.2. The cover screen also saves me from having to open the phone when my hands are full, and the fingerprint sensor (which is impressively good compared to other phones), lets me open my phone in less than a second.3. The main concern is that you can't open many apps on the cover ... MoreHaving bought this phone a month ago, I am thoroughly impressed with the practicality, appearance and the features of this phone.First off, the cover screen is amazing and extremely versatile:1. The main concern is that you can't open many apps on the cover screen - that's a lie. You can open EVERY app you own using the goodlock samsung app which takes a second to download. I have so far experienced no glitches or bugs on the small screen! The foldability is also the main features that this phone advertises, I mean, it's a flip phone. If you're wondering if the folding factor of this phone is really worth the price - yes, definitely:1. The folding feature is amazing for women's pockets.2. Folding the phone gives extra grip to your phone while recording, almost like a camcorder.3. You can prop it up without the phone falling, and even record yourself.4. OK, THIS IS INSANE - you can use your phone like a computer, literally. The phone folds and as you can use the bottom half as a trackpad while you move your mouse around the screen. Can your phone do that?5. Not to mention that multitasking lovers will cherish this folding feature!Lastly, the overall performance of the phone:1. Battery - This phone can often last me 1-3 days depending on my use, however I charge it often just to keep it from dying.2. Camera - decent and the back camera is really good in catching vivid landscapes, though I'm not a camera expert so I wouldn't know.3. Speakers and microphone - overall decent, the speakers are quite good for my case.4. Screen - The longer screen makes everything so much better, especially if you like watching videos or streaming movies on your phone! The brightness is great for daytime as well.Overall, I wouldn't expect too much in the performance of the phone since what you're really paying for is the folding characteristic and cover screen, although I believe it's extremely fantastic with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The screen is quite crisp and the chip allows it to work fast and diligently, great for multitasking and gaming as well!!

The best foldable yet!

Having had previous foldable phones this definitely was the upgrade I was after. Finally, the hinge on this phone means that the phone closes flat. No more dust/pocket lint getting covered over your screen and a statutory wipe of the screen required upon first use.The screen as ever with a Samsung phone is amazing quality with both screens being super bright AMOLED displays. The front screen is the perfect size for conventional mobile phone use with the screen a perfect size to allow one hand typing on the onscreen keyboard when messaging. Of course, the main event is when you unfold the device and witness the tablet sized inner display. This screen pops out at you with colour and is super responsive. Of course, the main event is when you unfold the device and witness the tablet sized inner display. This screen pops out at you with colour and is super responsive. One big question I know people wonder and worry about is the fold down the middle of the screen. This has definitely got smaller over the generations and seems even smaller this time. I can assure you that when the screen is on, the fold is not visible and you truly can benefit from this large screen that fits in your pocket. The screen also comes preinstalled with a screen protector for added reassurance.Having such a large screen means you can run two apps at once such as YouTube and an internet browser, something normally only afforded to a tablet or laptop. With regard to weight, the phone definitely is heavier than normal phones but after a few days you forget that this fact. The phone is also chunkier than normal phones but again you get used to this quickly. The cameras are good on the phone and allow up to three times optical zoom which I find is quite sufficient for most normal types of photography. The battery easily lasts a day under normal use although if you are going to be using it for a lot of media you may need to give it a quick top up.Overall, I highly recommend this device and it will be in my pocket for a long time to come.
