One other thing to chime in is the display is Glare Free, with even the darkest scenes in horror or action games are clear and detailed, without any annoying glare or reflections.May I say this monitor steals the show with 360Hz refresh rate combined with an OLED-enabled .03ms response time. Also throwing FreeSync Premium Pro into the mix has been great when playing Cyberpunk 2077, It fully eliminated screen tearing and provided a seamless visual experience.Aesthetically, the monitor is sleek, having slim silver metal design and Hexa Plate Stand. This really shows how stylish and minimalistic my gaming setup looks now. The Arena Lighting enhances the immersive experience, creating an atmospheric gaming environment that reacts to the on-screen action.Playing Helldivers 2 on this monitor was an absolute treat. The game’s HDR visuals makes it come to life with stunning clarity and detail. The deep blacks and vibrant colors made the alien environments and explosive effects pop, thus creating an enjoy full experience that pulled me right into the action. The high refresh rate and quick response time were particularly noticeable during intense firefights, where every movement and shot felt incredibly fluid and responsive. The FreeSync Premium Pro helped so that there were no interruptions or screen tearing, even during the most chaotic moments. I like the fact that The Virtual Aim Point is in this monitor giving a slight edge in precision, Overall, my gaming sessions with Helldivers 2 on the Odyssey OLED G6 have been some of the most visually captivating and smooth experiences I’ve had.

Setup is super fast and easy with the quick attach base and the multiple included cables(HDMI, DisplayPort, USB) made it super fast, plug and play. I replaced the 27" monitor with the new G6 27", so I went from Curved to Flat, and I do not care one bit because once I turned it on, nothing else mattered. The Display is insanely amazing, right away I was mind blown on how deep the black levels are compared to my 49". This is what made me realize what I have heard about OLED was actually true. I thought I had my other screens adjusted to have deep blacks and vibrant colors but I was instantly proven wrong. Right out of the box settings paired with my 7900XTX, every game I have thrown at it so far has not left me wanting more yet. I setup COD first and kept all my normal settings besides the max frame rate I will say I set a lot of my settings the same as most pros do following their setups for certain qualities to be set low so you get more FPS. Well, I was able to consistently see over 300FPS and I can tell you it is absolutely insane how many more kills I averaged because of better FPS and fast response.Next up was Racing!!! I have a decent sim racing setup and this screen has now ruined it. I thought having 76" inches of curved screen was just awesome, but after switching to the one 27" G6, I want to sell my 49" and buy 2 more of these. Yes, the difference is actually so much it makes driving worse for me now as the 27" screen looks so much better I lose track of where I am at on the track because I am looking at how good the background is, how awesome the cars look and how much less blur there is at 230 mph.I am simply in love with this screen and the ease of adjustment from the back finger knob. With a quick push, the menu pops up from the bottom an you can setup the screen with ease for any computer. I will say, I did hook it up to my laptop that has a 4060 in it and I can definitely say the 7900XTX pushes the screen to much better heights of picture quality compared to the 4060, so I would highly recommend a great GPU for this screen, I am not brand loyal for GPU's, so pick your favorite one.Hats off to Samsung on the Odyssey OLED G6, you have made this guy an OLED fan now.

This is my first time using an OLED monitor and I must say that it is a very pleasant experience. Comparing this monitor to the LCD monitors I use, it is practically day and night. Comparing this monitor to the LCD monitors I use, it is practically day and night. Despite having a few things that could be better, it is without a doubt a great product. This Samsung G6 OLED monitor comes packaged in a regular box like other monitors from the brand, pretty simple considering the range of the product and that it is a relatively new model. Inside the box comes the monitor with a removable adhesive plastic that protects the screen, a metal plate that functions as the base of the monitor, a stand that holds the monitor (ready to assemble), a usb cable, a HDMI and a DisplayPort cable, a power supply, a quick guide and the user manual. The quick guide, which is handy once you open the box, outlines the steps required to unbox the monitor. Unboxing is a fairly simple and intuitive process, practically by following the instructions you end up removing the monitor already assembled and ready to connect. The metal base is large and heavy enough to hold the monitor. The stand is made of plastic and lets you raise and lower the monitor, and the piece that connects the monitor to the stand allows the monitor to tilt and swivel as well. At the bottom of the stand there is a kind of silicone strap that is used for cable management. The monitor has different types of inputs, USB, HDMI, DP and Headphone Jack on the back and to one side is the power button which in turn is the menu button and works to navigate it as well, which I consider is not the best position for such an important button. Also on the back is a led light ring that can be configured from the monitor menu. Despite being on the back and not necessarily important, this led light ring is a plus, more RGB is always appreciated ;)The monitor is 2560 x 1440p resolution, with a refresh rate of 360Hz, 0.03 ms response time, OLED Glare Free technology, also features FreeSync Premium Pro synchronization technology, and OLED Safeguard+ which prevents the LEDs from burn-in due to excess heat.Regarding the performance, coming from 1080p 144Hz monitors, I must say that it is impressive. The first thing you can notice is that the color reproduction is outstanding, the colors are more vivid and the blacks are really black, compared with my previous monitors it looks like gray vs black. In gaming the refresh rate of 360Hz plus the 2560 x 1440p resolution is a fascinating combination, playing becomes a whole experience, for me it is a huge leap. The monitor responds very quickly and the image looks spectacular. It has an outstanding brightness, in my case in a dark room I use the monitor almost at minimum brightness and with the light on about 35% - 40%, plus the anti glare does a great job. Playing content is likewise a pleasant and immersive experience, vibrant colors, dark blacks in a very good resolution. I could go on and on about how good this monitor looks at virtually any task, but having it in front of me there are no more words to say, it's simply stunning.Something that caught my attention is a function that is basically picture in picture, that is, you can connect another device (such as another pc or tablet for example) and have a small rectangle on the screen playing what the other device emits, the size and position can be changed in settings . An interesting feature that could be useful for some people. The only thing I noticed is that some functions are disabled when using this feature. In short, this Samsung G6 OLED monitor has what it needs and more for those looking for a monitor with high refresh rate (especially if you are a gamer), that responds quickly, has a good resolution and color reproduction. Useful for daily tasks, playing video games, playing content, etc. It is an easy to assemble product since no tools are needed. It has a futuristic design and color. This monitor can be positioned in different ways. And the OLED screen is certainly a delight to the eye, highly recommended.

I decided to try something new, modern and wanted to see if I could up my quality of gaming will keeping my 2k resolution with my current gaming rig.I want to start off by how immediate and shocked I was when first turning on my monitor and just looking at my desktop. The color difference between my old TN panel monitor and this OLED monitor is literally night and day! I have 2 other 10+ year old TN panel monitors, left and right of this screen and immediately can't stand looking at my other 1080p 60hz monitors because of the massive color difference and how bland my other monitors look. I never knew what I was missing until today! From a specs perspective, this monitor outshines everything I've ever had. I had to upgrade my display cable to be able support 360hz, as my older display cable didn't work. Luckily there was one in the box, though some may need to get a longer cable that support 360hz if your PC is father then 4-5ft away from your display output.Additionally, the HDR capabilities on this monitor are breathtaking! I haven't really had much HDR experience with other monitors, but I can say initial impressions blow me away when playing HDR enabled content. This monitor has 2 additional inputs outside of the display port so hooking up a console, or media to this monitor would be a breeze and switching inputs is easy. The Monitor also has 2 3.0 USB ports in the back as well if looking to hook up a USB hub near the monitor, though not sure if both work identically, as one is marked as service. There are no speakers on this monitor, which is fine by me, as I use headphones or dedicated speakers. I should mention though there is a headphone jack on the back with its independent output in the settings. It is only a 2 channel output from initial testing so would not be expect 7.1 surround.I also love that the base is a solid flat base vs traditional V shaped bases on the older models of Odyssey monitors. The base is solid and VERY stable, though I do wish the base was matte black for my gaming setup. There is practically no glare on this monitor what so ever. With an overheard bright light right on top of my head, I see no glare or light bounce off this monitor. If I had to choose between my older 8 year old 2k SDR Monitor and this OLED HDR 2k monitor, I would choose this OLED monitor every time! The colors pop, the blacks are deep, and the pixel density is beyond what I've ever owned for my gaming setup. For the price, you are getting a great monitor! Though be prepared for a hefty investment as this is a brand name high quality monitor. One I will be using for many years to come.I will update this review if I ever encounter long term burn in, but with this monitors various technologies that prevent this very issue, I doubt this will be an issue. If you have the capital to get a quality 360hz OLED gaming monitor, aren't looking for the overly demanding 4k gaming experience, want a reasonable 2k gaming experience, and looking for colors that will rock your world. I recommend this a thousand times over!

Outstanding Performance; Gorgeous, Accurate Color

I was impressed when I first opened the box with the high quality of the metal base and support arm of this monitor. But the build quality of the panel is not on par with those two items. The back and frame of the panel are lightweight plastic (but maybe that helps with heat dissipation?) Assembly is quick and easy, no screws involved. The support arm plugs into and then is rotated to secure it to the base, and the panel has slots that the support arm tabs slide into and then it snap-locks into place. Once assembled the silver gray and black monitor looks very sleek and modern. The screen is adjustable up and down, tilts forward and back, and can be rotated 180 degrees. All the ports on the monitor are centered on the back, 2-HDMI 2.1, 1-Display Port 1.4, 2-USB A ... MoreI was impressed when I first opened the box with the high quality of the metal base and support arm of this monitor. And all the essential cables are included - HDMI, Display Port, USB A to B.Now the best part! The OLED QHD screen is fantastic! The colors are gorgeously rich, deep, and accurate, and the 1440p is a noticeable step up in resolution and clarity from the standard 1080p HD. There is absolutely no glare, regardless of what or where ambient lighting is in the room and what's on the screen. As far as gaming performance goes, the 360Hz refresh rate and .03ms response time give you flawless gaming performance.Settings and other features include Free Sync Premium, HDR capable, the usual monitor controls including preset game and other visuals, and Samsung's Infinity Core Lighting which is a large LED ring around where the support arm attaches to the back of the panel. It's multi-color and customizable for effects, and pretty cool, actually. There is also Samsung's Dynamic Cooling and Thermal Modulation systems designed to reduce heat and prevent burn-in. That should certainly enhance long term life of the monitor. One thing I definitely do not like is the combination power button and toggle switch to access controls and settings. It's workable and functions ok but it's inconveniently located near the bottom and just to the right of center of the panel. It's awkward to use sitting in front of the screen and I find myself getting up and reaching behind the panel from the side to use it. For the price of this monitor there should be an OSD (On Screen Display) controllable with a mouse and/or keyboard.Overall, this monitor is outstanding for gaming and notwithstanding my complaint about the toggle control, the price of this monitor is competitive in its class.

As with many consumer products these days this one follows the trend with very minimal basic printed instructions in the package. If you follow the pictographs in the quick start it is easy enough to attach the monitor to the stand and the stand to the base though. There’s lots of other unrelated pieces of paper included (which could be online) but I had to spend some time finding the full user guide on their website.I was impressed with the design and function overall. One touch push button release on both ends of the stand is very well done. The rich silvery metallic color and near zero bezel along with a super slim and curvy monitor backside makes it look quite stunning and high end. The monitor’s ergonomic design ensures that you can find the perfect viewing angle, reducing eye strain during long gaming sessions. I found the adjustment for height, tilt, and side to side to be super easy and smooth and there was the perfect amount of resistance so that it could not be easily bumped out of your favorite position. The on-screen menu system is user-friendly, allowing for quick adjustments to settings such as brightness, contrast, and color profiles. There’s also a handy registration reminder with a built-in QR code. The Odyssey offers a range of input options, including HDMI, DisplayPort, multiple USB ports, and a headphone jack ensuring compatibility with a variety of devices. This versatility makes it easy to connect gaming consoles, PCs, and other peripherals. The S27DG60 features a 27-inch OLED panel with a 2560 x 1440 (QHD) resolution. The OLED technology provides vibrant colors, deep blacks, and an impressive contrast ratio, enhancing the overall visual experience. The QHD resolution ensures that images are sharp and detailed, perfect for gaming and content creation. HDR support further improves color accuracy and brightness, making games and media look incredibly lifelike.Performance is out of this world. With a 360Hz refresh rate and a lightning-fast 0.03ms response time, this monitor ensures smooth and fluid gameplay. It supports both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium, providing seamless synchronization with your GPU to eliminate screen tearing and reduce input lag. There are various settings for gaming, including picture modes for RPG, RTS, and FPS games. Honestly, I couldn’t tell that much difference using different modes while gaming. I did really like the Black Equalizer which was nice for really dark games such as Diablo which is one I play frequently. This allows specific brightness adjustment for the dark areas to help see things better. Not sure how I might use it but did play around with the PIP (Picture in Picture) feature a bit and found it to be rather interesting. You can have different inputs drive the main and PIP screens and size and move the PIP window around all through relatively straightforward control via the on screen menu.Samsung also provides a 3 year warranty with the monitor which means they are confident of the product quality.

Sadly, experience was cut short... Coil whine...
3 July 2024

NOTE: Samsung seem to not like when someone has something negative to say about their products and deleted my previous review… reposting it with 1 less star because of this!Sadly my monitor had horrendous coil whine, tried the troubleshooting steps I seen online of disabling the RGB lighting and plugging USB devices in as the USB hub could potentially be the culprit but to no avail. I reached out to Samsung and they were telling me that as coil whine doesn't affect performance then they wouldn't be willing to replace the monitor. Thankfully I must've been within my return period (monitor hadn't even been plugged in for 24 hours!) - so they have thankfully been willing to let me return for a refund. Sadly that also involved being transferred between 5 different live chat agents! I also owned a curved Samsung VA panel years ago that also had coil whine so unsure if they maybe just emit a frequency that I'm sensitive to. Now that I have all the bad stuff out of the way - the monitor itself is actually really nice! I really appreciate the sleek silver look with the robust metal base. Makes it feel like less of a 'gamer' oriented monitor. Colours were incredibly vivid (maybe a tad bit over-saturated for my liking), with the likes of your greens and reds popping incredibly nicely. The 360Hz refresh rate is something that has to be seen to be believed - I switched to this from the AW3423DW (Alienware ultrawide), so this is just over double the refresh rate. With the fact it is OLED you have absolutely zero ghosting so motion clarity is phenomenal. I bit the bullet and ordered this monitor ahead of any reviews going live, so my best advice would be to hold off and wait until these come out. I have read a lot of varying opinions on this monitor, with a few hoping that some reviews will push Samsung to release some firmware updates to fix some issues they've been having. Please keep in mind this is my opinions from under 24 hours of use - coil whine in any product is enough to have me return an item and that is strictly down to personal preference. The deal you get on this monitor for the money off as well as the free external SSD is a bargain overall compared to similar monitors so if you're willing to take the gamble and be an early adopter, then it may well just be worth it and pay off for you!

That’s a hot button issue for some users, some people are Team Glossy and hate on anything else. My PC is in a room near a large window and glare is an issue. I can confirm that the OLED Glare Free works and I didn’t notice any haze from it not being a glossy screen. I would encourage you to see this screen in person before you judge. The colors are vibrant and the blacks are outstanding as you’d expect from a Samsung OLED. Everyone that has come over to see it has been amazed. The monitor has AMD FreeSync Premium Pro on by default so it’s compatible with my Radeon GPU. I did have to go in to display settings on Windows and change to frequency to 360hz, it defaulted to 120. Higher frequency makes more heat in the display but I understand this monitor has heat tubes in the vapor chamber to help with that. Samsung says :"Both new Odyssey OLED models feature Samsung OLED Safeguard+, a new proprietary burn-in protection technology. This technology is the first in the world to prevent burn-in by applying a pulsating heat pipe to the monitor. Additionally, the Dynamic Cooling System evaporates and condenses a coolant to diffuse heat five times more effectively than the older graphite sheet method, which prevents burn-in by reducing temperature at the core. The monitor also detects static images like logos and taskbars, automatically reducing their brightness to provide another means of burn-in prevention.”There’s a video online of a person cutting open the tubes to show the coolant running out. Not the way to treat a monitor!I read the instruction manual but it wasn’t clear to me at first how to turn CoreLighting+ on. After fiddling with it, I found you just have to tap the power button to bring up a larger menu than you get from just toggling the multifunction stick. Besides CoreLighting+ and many other settings, you can also select to turn on one of about a half dozen built in crosshairs to give you a virtual aim point if you play a game to doesn’t have a built in aim point. The crosshairs are even adjustable to line up POA/POI in game. Pretty cool feature I didn’t see mentioned before.

The color possibilities with OLED technology will make your games come to life.My only issue with the monitor is its use of those multi-directional, behind the monitor buttons to power it on/off as well as toggle between the settings. It doesn't make for the most comfortable user experience. Especially with the brightness of OLED monitors, you likely will want to be sure you turn this off when not using it, versus allowing a screensaver to run. Also, if you're a stickler for details, be aware that the border of this monitor is silver, not black, so it can stand out a bit compared to what your other equipment looks like.Ultimately, though, this is an incredible product. My family and I have already enjoyed hours of gaming and movie-watching on it. It is also a phenominal option for your daily 'productivity' or work-based monitor.
