In a world of ‘thin’ and uninspiring sound coming from your modern flat screen, the Samsung Q Series Soundbar fills the void in a big and inspiring way. As TVs get bigger and thinner, their sound gets gotten progressively worse to the point where it really impacts the experience of watching movies, tv shows, and playing games in a negative way. When I bought my new Samsung Frame TV, I connected my previous soundbar from a major audio company, but it I just wanted something more. Then I got my Samsung HW-Q700A soundbar and I couldn’t be happier. The setup was super simple, I just connected the power cord to the soundbar and the included subwoofer and an HDMI cord to the eARC HDMI port on my TV and the soundbar. That was it. The setup was super simple, I just connected the power cord to the soundbar and the included subwoofer and an HDMI cord to the eARC HDMI port on my TV and the soundbar. That was it. It just worked like magic. The Samsung TV one remote is able to control the volume controls and the soundbar automatically turns on and off with the TV. I’m able to adjust the soundbar settings through the SmartThings App on my smartphone, which makes it super simple and convenient. Sound quality is really good, especially the vocals in content. The voices come out super clear, way better than my previous sound bar and my full 5.1 sound system in my TV room which cost 5x more. Even though the voices come out clear, other sound content doesn’t get left behind either. Offering a complete and balance sound. The soundbar includes eARC which supports Dolby Atmos, which is the next generation of surround sound, adding a height element previously missing. When you hear Dobly Atmos content for the first time, it’s really something special. I will be purchasing the surround sound kit in the near future to complete the surround sound experience. The subwoofer offers low end extension, but is not super deep and/or thundering sound. I increased the subwoofer level in the SmartThings App and that helped, but this is the one area which could use some improvement. Bluetooth connected as simply as any other Bluetooth device and I didn’t experience any issues with connectivity. Tap and Play also worked without any fuss. Overall, Samsung knocked it out of the park. Offering a great sounding soundbar, that is fully featured and reliable with really good sound and incredible vocal clarity.

I bought this sounds bar a year ago and it has average sound. Sometimes the bar and the additional Samsung speakers I bought sound good, but typically it's nothing to get excited about. Also there are issues with the soundbar connecting with the wifi speakers. They don't always connect. The final issue is that updates do not always a happen as they should. I found out when I was about 5 updates behind even though automatic updates was on. Just cycling on/off doesn't help the update. It has to be hard reset for the update to install. I spoke with customer service they told me this was normal. It does look nice. I'm not happy with the price I paid for it and I'm sure there are better soundbars for the same price.

I have a 5 year old Sony TV in my bedroom coupled with a Nvidia Shield for its "smartness". I was looking for a compact soundbar to enjoy Netflix and the newer audio formats. The Q700a met 2 critical criteria - HDMI IN for Nvidia and crisp clear dialog with enough bass for a smaller room. (Sonos and Bose bars have no HDMI In) and this soundbar can decode Atmos and DTX. Less than 5 minutes to set up and easy to control with app. With the ARC connection the TV remote can operate the soundbar seamlessly, there is no audio lag with the Nvidia and Netflix Dolby Atmos plays perfectly. The sound does not bounce off the ceilings, nor off the walls on either side, but if you're looking for that, you'll have to spend more and get the Q950. The soundbar also looks great, low ... Look. It’s a sound bar with a subwoofer. It is a marked improvement over the tv speakers alone (10+ year old Panasonic plasma) - but let’s not get carried away with the Dolby Atmos thing. That’s not going to work with just a sound bar and subwoofer. And it’s questionable if you get the wireless rear speakers. At best, you have 5.1 If you’re reasonable with your expectations, this thing will not disappoint you. It is a great replacement for built-in TV speakers. If you think it’s going to give you a cinema-like experience, you will be let down. It’s not as good as my Logitech 5.1 computer speakers I was using previously, but I wanted a cleaner look and reasonable sound. This has provided that, and I am happy with the purchase. I love my Samsung HW-Q700A 3.1.2ch Soundbar w/ Dolby Atmos / DTS:X. It came with remote control, AC/DC adapter and HDMI cable and wall mount kit for the soundbar as well as power cable for the subwoofer. I connected the soundbar to an older tv in my living room and used an Optical cable from my cable tv router to the soundbar. The optical cable was not supplied but it was easy to find and inexpensive to purchase. I am glad that the User Manual showed this as an optional wired connection. The sound is superb especially with the subwoofer output. I am hearing impaired and have had to have closed captioning to be able to understand the tv programming. One thing to note if you have a Samsung tv, The feature regarding using the surround sound if we have multiple Samsung devices is good. The remote is nice and you can control different connections and volume and sound options right through the remote. All in all i love the product so far. Its been a week i have been using this sound bar and so far no issues. I will be sure to update my review later with any other tips and suggestions. I will highly recommend this to my friends and family.
We received the Q700A soundbar a couple weeks ago to go with our Q70A TV. The setup was simple, just a few cables and good to go. The bluetooth linking for the subwoofer was finicky and took a few tries but worked perfectly after that. The bass is great at +3 and sounds great. The product integrates perfectly with the Q70A TV. We've only had the chance to watch one movie with Dolby Atmos but it was a great experience and a significant improvement. The best improvement with this soundbar was on some movies that have low dialog volume and loud action sequences, no more having to mess with the volume constantly while watching. No delay or sync issues have been noticed which seem to be a problem with other soundbars. Overall this is a great product and an excellent ... this sound system surprised me a bit for a couple of reasons. 1) it really improves sound for all media types (tv, movies, sports & music). 2) i didn't realize how cool surround and dolby atmos was or how many shows utilize surround sound. massively improves viewing experience. set up is easy and it perfectly integrates with our new samsung tv. i like best that you only need the tv remote to control the sound bar once you have the sound bar system set up. it comes on when the tv is turned on, and off when the tv is turned off. one thing i did not like is why the rear speakers are sold separately. they should have bundled it with the swa 9500s se as they did with the q65t model. i would have liked to buy it as a bundle.
We recently bought a new Samsung TV and decided to get a soundbar to go with it and complete the home media experience (my partner and I have regular movie nights with ourselves and friends). I am an audiophile at heart, so I researched the soundbar offerings available right now for weeks, scouring reviews and forums for information and user experiences. I'm happy to share what I've learned with you because there's some important considerations that went into this decision: 1. Music sound quality. Front and center, how do 2021 model Q-series products stack up against other brand competitors like Sonos and Bose. I've owned and used both other brands before and can attest to their clarity and superb construction, the Q-series soundbars are finally knocking on that door and providing textures, rich sound with frequency ranges and clarity I can not just "live with" but enjoy. The other two brands I mentioned still compete and outpass the Samsung for pure music listening and it's the reason I dock a star from the rating, Samsung is still lagging a tiny bit in this area, but that's likely due to the next feature... 2. "Media" sound quality (movies, tv, youtube, podcasts etc...). Top of the line. I love it. Especially when paired with the Samsung TV. You can use Q Symphony to get the most out of both devices and it really wins. The additional speakers in the Q700 especially light up the room and really add to the experience. It's clear and balanced the whole time. Very impressed and satisfied here. 3. Looks. Very important, we live in a home, not a house. The Q900 was way too big for us and the fabric cover was a "no" from my partner and I. This model has the grill instead and it's way more sleek. The panel display on the front is nice and clear, it's small so longer text has to scroll but whatever, I'm not reading books on this thing so I don't care. Looks gets a great pass, it's a sleek design that looks better in person than the pictures did haha. 4. Features. If you have a Samsung TV, get a Q series soundbar. End of story. We're done here, haha. Check your compatibility, of course, but the Q Symphony and AI sound balancing are awesome. There's more to see from this company and their ecosystem of IOT devices, it seems they've made some great strides in collaborating the devices and I'm keen to see more. Conclusion, love it, can recommend it. I'm really into music so it gets docked a star for not being as good as the other brands in this area, but it's a slim margin honestly and all the other stuff above makes up for it. Very happy with my purchase and I sing it's praise when people ask for my advice.
I have purchased this sound bar from the mid-range section of Samsung's Q-series, knowing that I have a SONY Bravia 85 inch at home. The setup using eARC port was very smooth, and there are no connection delays. You can even make the basic changes like volume + or - over the Sony remote. Other settings of the soundbar can be very easily managed by the Samsung SmartThings App, which is very easy to use. The sound, in general, is very clear, yet powerful. For certain Dolby Atmos content, sometimes it feels very lightweight and you won't feel that the helicopter is flying over your head, but maybe it's because of the lack of room correction functionality. For music or other TV series, the depth and bass is very impressive. I like to watch a lot of Movies, and again ... The coolest feature for me is the night mode which suppresses the overall sound yet providing clarity - which could be good if you have thin walls, or a baby around you. Overall, I give it a 4 star because there are definitely other sound bars which can be better than this one, but for the price/quality ratio, it's a very good bargain around 400 euros. :-)
