Not many reviews on this monitor out there so I took a bit of a chance but so far so good. I think the higher cost scares people away but I flt it was worth it. My older video card seems inadequate to handle this monitor but my 3 month old Gigabyte card bite the dust causing blue screens so I had to revert back. I'm going to look into a new or see how my RMA goes with Gigabyte.

My previous monitor was a viewsonic vp201b, a very nice LCD that did 1600x1200 natively. Unfortunately it was giving up the ghost and I needed to get a new monitor. I guess I was spoiled by the viewsonic since this one has all kinds of issues that one didn't. The 201b never had the color and viewing angle problems that this monitor suffers from, and its contrast was far superior.

I have 4 (yes, four!) of these in my 5 monitor setup, and few reasonably-priced monitors are as clear and sharp. Text is beautifully clear, and reduces eye-strain, with deep whites (not yellowed or coloured). Works very well in Portrait mode also - which is how my 4 are setup.

Pros: Excellent image and high resolutionCons: The perceived quality of the build construction is not as good as previous Samsung products.
If the stand were just a bit beefier, or the picture controls could be used with the angle controls, I could excuse either one. I would knock off an egg for that, but as far as I've seen no other manufacturer does it any better, making this the best 16:10 LCD monitor available. There are a few things I miss about the old plasma tech, such as viewing angle, but the response time and energy efficiency of them was terrible, making a good LCD a worthwhile trade-off.
Description could be clearer, has a fully adjustable stand. The definition between this model and the one for a few more bucks seems to be only speakers, but very hard to get clarification from anyone on it
I bought these because there was a 10 percent discount over the weekend on samsung monitors and I wanted the resolution. I looked at other 24 inch monitors with this resolution and this one was priced right and only seemed to be missing the HDMI or Display port connectors the others had. I bought two of them and they are running great after a few weeks of use
These monitors may be a little old, not curved or with the most pixels, but if you are just after a quality monitor for small $, give this used monitor a try. My advice is if you are going for a multiple monitor setup to buy them all at once. The 1920X1200 is unusual, and some computers might freak out a bit if you have a 1920x1200 and 1920x1080 (which is more usual).

Like many LED backlit LCD's the power transformer is not inside the monitor. This one has a nice mounting spot for the box at the back of the monitor. I thought it would get in the way of wall mounting but it didn't in my case. It probably sticks out about 1/2" to 3/4". It is removable but the cord between it and the monitor is short so you can't put it too far away. If needed I guess you could affix it to the back of the monitor on the sides since they are inset a bit. It seems to have a built-in power saving feature that as soon as I lock my computer it goes into a low power state, then a few seconds later turns off completely. Haven't messed with the settings on that though. It is plenty bright for me, but I usually like my monitors darker. I have it set to about ... I got it about 40 cheaper somewhere else so shop around, but this is about the best bang for the buck I could find in the price range.
