With a diagonal angle of view of approx. 180° for full format, it provides a huge field of view. Perfectly suited for overviews, interiors, confined spaces, as well as for reportages in such places. The Lens puts the subject in the right light. With a lens speed of T 3.1, the Lens has a high initial light intensity. Due to the short focal length and the low magnification, it is characterized by a very large depth of field. For videography For videography, the aperture can be continuously adjusted from 3.1 to 22 and the focus adjustment is soft and smooth. This enables smooth focus tracking, especially when shooting video. The aperture ring and focus ring have a gear ring and are therefore optimized for use with follow focus systems and simplify use when filming. The distance and aperture scales are arranged on the side for better legibility. High-quality optics The Lens is internally focused with a close focusing distance of approx. 20 centimetres. The optical construction with 12 lenses in 8 groups is very complex and promises the best imaging performance. The multi-coating of all lenses used in the Lens is standard at Samyang. It enables a higher light yield, better color rendering and higher contrast. In addition, one glass surface is coated with NCS Nano Coating System, which promises an even more brilliant image. Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor Save time in post-processing. A large number of lens errors such as distortion, edge blurring or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a Lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This results in maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not required.
