Samyang 135mm f/2.0 Ed UMC Lens for Canon EF Mount
The 135mm f/2.0 ED UMC Lens from Smayang is a manual focus telephoto prime lens useful for portraiture and most telephoto applications. Its fast f/2.0 maximum aperture is effective in low light and enables shallow depth of field control. With a rounded 9-blade diaphragm, shallow depth of field imaging will be rendered with pleasing out-of-focus highlights. Compatible with both full frame and APS-C format mirrorless E mount cameras, this lens provides a 35mm focal length equivalence of 202.5mm when used on APS-C cameras. Its minimum focus distance is 2.6'. The optical design includes one extra-low dispersion lens element to control chromatic aberration, contributing to sharp, color-accurate imaging, and each of its lens elements features Ultra Multi-Coating to improve light transmission and reduce ghosting and flare. An internal focus system prevents the front end from rotating which allows more effective use of variable filters. A durable metal barrel with a wide focus ring and manual aperture control ring offer tactile control over focus and exposure. An included, removable lens hood deters stray light from entering the lens, while protecting it from accidental impact and precipitation.

Used mainly for Astro photographyNice and sharp across the frame especially when stopped down to f2.8.A well made lens for a good price.Recommended.

I bought this lens to take some wide field astrophotography, and the result is astonishing for the price. Sharp up to the edge even wide open and almost no chromatic aberrations. I consider this an astrograph, and really good photos can be take with motorised mount and guiding is not needed. As a con, vigneting could be better at f/2, but this is clearly reduced with half stop and almost disappears with 1 stop.

Focusing is so sharp that it can be difficult through the view finder at F2. Tripod and digital zoom for perfect focusing. That said the bee was taken hand held and framed through the view finder.

Such a high quality piece of glass. Incredible sharpness, beautiful bokeh. One of the best portrait lenses I have ever used.
Bought for Astrophotography with my Canon 70d. I would highly recommend this lens. It is perfectly sharp once focused and it is a delight to use. Adequate tension in the focusing ring adds confidence when using it.
A quick test revealed that this 135mm lens is sharper than the 70-300mm canon @300mm. Not a tad sharper, but clearly much sharper. This is impressive, expecially if one considers taht the 135mm need a 2.2x crop to reach the same zoom of the 70-300mm and yet the kit canon lens has still no chance.
Brilliant Astrophotography lens!
