(40 reviews)

The Samyang 16mm f/2.0 ED AS UMC CS lens is a ultra wide-angle manual focus lens designed for CS / cropped sensors APS-C cameras. The Samyang 16mm is a rectilinear lens, offering superb image quality and low distortion. It is perfectly suited to cropped sensor cameras for landscape and general photography requiring a high quality wide angle lens. The large f2 aperture allows for low light photography. Optical construction is 13 elements in 11 groups, with 2 aspherical lenses, 1 Extra-low Dispersion (ED) element and one hybrid aspherical and feature Samyangs UMC Ultra Multi coating coating which ensures superb transmission of light, and minimises flare and ghosting. The Samyang 16 mm offers very low distortion characteristics, and professional optical performance and handling. The elements are housed in a solid body weighing from approx 570g, dependant on mount. Suitable for both for professional and amateur photographers the 16mm is equivalent to 24mm equivalent on APS-C sized sensors. The Samyang 16mm lens accepts 77mm filters to attach ND, polarisers or any filter with a 77mm filter thread and features a detachable petal lens hood. The Samyang 16mm features a wide, ribbed manual focus ring which is smooth and well-damped. This provides a positive manual focus, particularly suitable for more professional videoing / filming with DSLR’s where manual focus is preferred, enabling focussing pulling whilst video recording.
